Story
Madison is almost two years old. She is super sweet and a giant teddy bear. We have so much love for her, however our three year old has SPD and can not tolerate her. We have exhausted all options to try to make our home suitable for both Maddie and our son but we have had no luck. We are only looking to surrender her to a family or person that owns their home (to avoid ever needing her to be surrendered again for living circumstances). She is so great and patient with our young kids ( infant, toddler, 10 year old). She is not great with our cats. She has never bit them and never would; but she barks and chases them.

Story
Meet McCoy – the sweetest little sidekick you didn’t know you were missing. At just 4.5 months old and 24 pounds, McCoy is a delightful mix of silly, snuggly, and smart. He may be a tiny bit shy at first, but give him a little patience and you’ll quickly discover his playful personality and affectionate heart. McCoy comes from a pretty interesting family tree! His mom is a Heeler/Beagle mix and his dad is a cream-colored Goldendoodle, which resulted in one very unique and adorable pup. He has the coloring of his siblings but favors his Beagle-mix mama in looks — with short little legs, a loooong Basset-style body, and a thick, medium-length coat that’s perfect for cuddling. Though he was born outside and spent his early weeks living outdoors with his parents and littermates, McCoy is now thriving inside a loving foster home. He’s learning all about family life — from the excitement of greeting you at the door (he gives the best welcome-home kisses!) to living with young boys ages 6 and 10. Every day he grows braver and more confident. At first, the big dogs in his foster home made him a little nervous — but now? He’s happily part of the crew. He absolutely loves to run and play outside, and fetch with tennis balls is quickly becoming one of his favorite games. And yes… he is SMART. You can just see those wheels turning. One of the most special things about McCoy is how deeply he bonds with his people. When his foster mom recently had a terrible migraine, McCoy instinctively curled up beside her and stayed close, offering quiet comfort. He’s not just cute — he truly cares. His activity level is beautifully balanced. He enjoys playtime and adventures, but he’s just as happy snuggled up right next to you. With a loving, supportive family, McCoy is going to absolutely bloom into the best kind of companion — loyal, joyful, and full of heart. He is expected to grow to around 45–50 pounds when fully grown. If you’re looking for a special boy who is adorable inside and out, McCoy may be your perfect match. To learn more about McCoy, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. We transport from our rescue base in Nashville up the northeastern corridor of states to approved adopters. McCoy is ready to find his forever family — maybe it’s you. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.NAME: ToffeeBREED: Labrador RetrieverDOB: Jul 18, 2020 (5 years 5 months)Home Recommendation: Toffee would do best in a calm, patient home that understands she is still very shy and learning to feel safe in new environments. A home with other gentle, confident dogs would be ideal, as she clearly takes comfort in them and often follows their lead both inside and outside. She would thrive in a low-noise household, as she has an extreme sensitivity to sudden movements and loud or unexpected sounds, including noises from the TV or people moving around. Toffee would benefit from an adopter willing to take things slowly, provide reassurance, and support her in building confidence, as well as helping her gradually reach a healthier weight. With time, consistency, and a gentle approach, she has the potential to continue blossoming in the right home.WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Toffee spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her 'breeders' decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now shes ready to start that new chapter!Personality: Toffee is a very shy, sensitive girl who is still learning how to be a dog and how to feel safe in the world around her. New situations, sounds, and movements can be overwhelming for her, and she relies heavily on guidance and reassurance from both people and other dogs. While she may not seek attention right away, she is sweet-natured and observant, quietly watching and learning at her own pace. She does best with a calm, patient approach and clear, consistent routines. KIDS: Yes, 10+DOGS: YesCATS: UnknownTraining: Toffee would benefit from a fenced-in backyard is strongly preferred since she enjoys being outside with her dog friends. She is currently working on leash training and continuing to build confidence with going potty outside. She is completely potty trained with zero accidents in the home. Her crate is her safe haven, so an adopter who respects her need for a quiet, secure space is important. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, she is making progress and will benefit from an adopter willing to continue supporting her as she learnsVisit WiseAnimalRescue.org to fill out an adoption application.Adoption areas include: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
