Like his brothers, Ruger spent his early life outside with very little experience of the world beyond what he knew. Because of that, adopters should expect Ruger to be a little shy and sensitive at first. Moving into a new home, meeting new people and learning a whole new routine is a big change for a boy who hasn’t always had the chance to experience the world in a safe and secure way. He may need a little time to settle in and figure out that this new life really is his. Meet Ginny Lynn — a sweet little girl who is still learning that being someone’s dog is a pretty wonderful thing. â¤ï¸ Ginny Lynn is a 45 pound, one-year-old Poodle mix who, along with her 2 brothers, was abandoned when a tenant left them and her grey Poodle dad, behind at a cabin in the woods. They were actually all 4 left in crates and had to wait to be discovered and rescued many days later. They had known both indoor and outdoor life before that, but suddenly being left behind like that was a pretty confusing and scary experience for these pups. So, it’s no surprise that Ginny can be a little sensitive when everything around her is new. She may not be the one who marches through the door on day one like she owns the place. She’s more of a “let me look around, figure this out and make sure everything is okay” kind of girl. And honestly, once she decides everything really is okay, she is pretty amazing and sweet. She has been living in a house now and is doing well. She is discovering the joys of being comfortable, having a soft place to curl up and getting to spend his days around people. She’s learning that a house isn’t something to be unsure of—it’s where the good stuff happens. Ginny Lynn is smart, loving and eager to learn. She just needs someone who understands that confidence doesn't always happen overnight. Jack is a handsome 5 year-old, 60 lbs black Standard Poodle who is finally getting the opportunity to discover what it means to be part of a family. Originally his life started off being purchased as a puppy for one purpose — to be a breeding dog. He was never given the chance to live inside, curl up beside his people, learn the routines of a household or simply be someone's companion. He spent his years outside in a small pen and requured to father many puppies. He never got to experience the life that a dog like Jack deserves. Now that chapter is behind him, and we are so excited about what comes next. Jack is incredibly loving, affectionate and smart. He has a wonderful temperament and truly enjoys people. There is a sweetness to him that makes it easy to imagine just how much he is going to blossom once he realizes that being someone's dog means so much more than simply being cared for. Although Jack has never lived inside, he is already showing us some very promising signs. He has been doing remarkably well with keeping his kennel clean, giving us a wonderful foundation as he learns house manners. And with the intelligence Standard Poodles are known for, we expect Jack to be a very willing student once he understands what is being asked of him. There will be plenty of new things for Jack to discover — household sounds, doors, furniture, routines and all the little parts of family life he has never experienced. Her personality seems to bring out the best of both breeds - playful, affectionate, intelligent, and eager to be part of your life. She loves to play tug-of-war, chase and retrieve a ball, and pounce on her squeaky toys. When playtime is over, Presley is just as happy cuddling in your arms and falling asleep in your lap. She has a wonderfully affectionate nature and loves being close to her people. One of the things that makes Presley especially unique is how quiet she is. She settles beautifully and doesn't need to be constantly entertained. Presley does extremely well in her crate and is making progress with her housebreaking. She is learning her name and the word "no", and she already has an adorable response to a simple signal: purse your lips, make a 'kiss' sound, and she comes running - literally! She is good with other dogs and is learning how to be a happy, well-mannered member of the family. Sophia is a sweet, gentle, loving babygirl who loves to cuddle, go for walks, car rides, and eating peanut butter. We got her as a puppy during a time when we were on night shift. Because of this she was not socialized growing up and can be skeptical around other dogs at first, but is still very kind, just shy. She has been a wonderful companion over the past 5 years. We have recently had a child and have found that having a dog has added significant stress to our already stressful new life. We live in an apartment and Sophia barks when she hears noise in the hallway and also gets upset and barks when we leave the house. This often wakes up and/or scares the baby. We also feel that we are not able to provide the proper attention, love and exercise that Sophia deserves. She would be best suited for someone with a house, yard/space, time and love to give.

Meet Flossy Flossy is adorable. She is also a project. And we mean that in the most loving way possible. Flossy spent her life as a breeder dog and never learned that people could be safe or wonderful. She arrived terrified, running circles, growling, and wanting nothing to do with humans. A year later, she is still very much a work in transformation, but she has made progress that once seemed almost impossible. Flossy is not a turnkey dog. She will not arrive and be comfortable in a week or two. Her adopter needs patience, understanding, and a willingness to let her set the pace. She may never be a dog who runs to greet you, curls up in your lap, or wants to go everywhere with you. Her version of trust may always look different. She is terrified outside her comfort zone. Leaving the yard is overwhelming, and attempts at outings have left her frozen. She needs a very secure fenced yard and a home where adventures can happen at home.Flossy thrives on routine and predictability. She knows her schedule and expects meals on time. She may bark if you make eye contact or dinner is late, and she can have accidents when her routine is disrupted or she is startled. She also will not enter or leave the house if a person is standing in the doorway. These are not quirks that will disappear overnight. They are part of understanding Flossy. She is not currently a good canine playmate and doesn't feel comfortable when dogs get too close. She needs respectful companions who give her plenty of space. A calm dog may eventually be possible, but careful management and introductions will be essential. And then there are the tiny miracles. After a year with her foster family, Flossy has recently allowed herself to be picked up and petted. She accepts affection while elevated on a bed, loves being groomed, and sleeps like a dream in a human bed.Then one day, she joyfully bounded to the end of the yard to greet her foster dad as he drove down the driveway.After a year, her foster family finally saw joy.Flossy is still a complicated little dog, and her adopter must be prepared for a long-term project rather than a quick transformation. But she is also incredibly cute, wonderfully funny, and finally beginning to understand that life can be good. She needs a quiet, adult-only home with a secure fenced yard and someone who genuinely finds fulfillment in helping a fearful dog discover her own version of happiness. She seems to prefer men, so a male adopter may be especially appealing to her. Flossy may never throw herself into your arms. But if you have the patience to celebrate the little things, she might someday let you pick her up, accept a few pets, or bounce across the yard to greet you. For Flossy, those aren't little things at all.
