Story
Lady Lollipop—lovingly called “Lollie”—is as delightful as her name suggests. This beautiful 18-month-old Parti Doodle weighs 50 pounds and brings a perfect blend of playful energy and gentle affection to every moment. Lollie has grown up in a busy, love-filled home with eight children, including four foster kids, and she has proven herself to be incredibly adaptable, patient, and kind. She truly loves children and seems to understand how to match their energy—whether it’s playtime in the yard or settling in for some quiet companionship. This smart girl is already house-trained and eager to show off her skills. She knows how to play fetch and would happily spend hours chasing a ball or toy, especially if it means making her people smile. Lollie thrives on interaction and is always ready for the next adventure. What we have found about Lollie is that she is leash reactive with other dogs when out on walks or hiking trails.  We are not sure why since often she seems to be fine with dogs but recently we have found that she considers small dogs not to her liking and so we feel  that her best life would be lived with a fenced backyard (absolutely must have a home with a fenced yard) and not expected to be a social butterfly out for walks where other dogs might come running up toward her.  Car rides? One of her favorites. Running and playing outside? Even better.  She can be worked with over time but for now we are just saying it is best for her and her family to not expect her to be BFF with other dogs unless her size and introduced carefully.  This is her only marginal trait that needs work and no expectations of her changing right away.  Lollie is truly “as sweet as a lollipop”—affectionate, intelligent, and full of joy. She’s ready to bring her loving spirit into a forever home that will cherish her as much as she will cherish them.  If you are interested, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 2, 2026, 9:10 pm

Story
Maggie is a stunning 4 1/2 year-old standard poodle. This gorgeous girl came to us after being surrendered by her previous family and she is now looking for a forever home where she can be cherished and adored Maggie absolutely loves people and thrives on human companionship. She also enjoys attention, affection, and being included in her family's Daily life if you're looking for a loyal companion to be by your side, Maggie might be the perfect fit. Maggie prefers not to share her space with other animals so we think she would do best as an only pet. she prefers not to share her space with other dogs and cats. She definitely needs some training because she does not like to be around other animals and she will attack them, but we haven’t had the time to train her. We’ve had so many dogs come into our rescue. she enjoys her soul attention from her people. If you happen we to have a pool, she loves to swim.. While she can be reactive around other dogs during walk, she has already shown improvement while in our care and continues to make progress because standard pools are very highly intelligent And eager to please and learn we believe Maggie has great potential to continue building confidence and Improving her social skills With patient guidance and positive training. Definitely training. We cannot even walk her around other dogs because she lunches at them. Despite the challenges she's faced, Maggie remains a loving and devoted dog who deserves a family willing to see just how special she is. She would thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of love, attention, and opportunities to continue growing. For more information about Maggie please call 606-783-9850 and we will explain everything to you about Maggie. We just would love to see her land in a forever loving home that we want the future adapter to understand that she has these issues but as far as she is with people, she loves people. strayheartsrescue@outlook.com https://forms.gle/suhbpui9RXiVmvoJ9

Jade Doodle Female Silver/Beige 3 Years old 52lbs Meet Jade: Jade is a female sweetheart of a doodle who is full of love, energy, and personality. She absolutely loves being around her people and is always eager to please. While she may be a little shy or nervous when first meeting someone new, she warms up quickly and happily soaks up all the affection and attention she can get. Jade is house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and knows commands like “sit” and “down.” She loves playing with toys, especially fetch, and enjoys exploring outside on walks or relaxing in the backyard. She is not crate trained. Jade would thrive in a home where her people are around most or all of the day, as she forms strong bonds very quickly and can become anxious when left alone. She will likely do best as the only dog in the home. She has not been exposed to cats in her foster home, and she does have a strong prey drive when it comes to backyard critters like squirrels. Overall, Jade is a loving, loyal companion who is looking for a calm, caring home where she can be close to her people and shower them with affection. Please Note: **No children under 10!** If you are interested in adopting JADE, please visit our website at www.somersetcottagepoodlerescue.org to learn about our adoption process and download the adoption application JADE's adoption donation is $1100

Story
Meet Flossy Can you imagine spending seven years bringing life into the world, litter after litter, puppy after puppy, never once having someone love you back? Never having a soft bed that was yours, a person who was yours, a moment that was simply and completely yours? That was Flossy's life. Seven years as a breeding mom, giving everything and receiving so little in return. She is done with that chapter now. And the dog emerging on the other side of it is something truly worth knowing. Flossy is seven years old and she is learning, one careful step at a time, that humans can be kind and safe. She never learned that before and so she is taking nothing for granted. She tends to warm more naturally to men and has a special fondness for her foster dad, which makes complete sense for a girl who spent her life in circumstances that gave her little reason to trust. Her foster mom does everything for her and Flossy is still working on fully letting her in, which is a good reminder that love on Flossy's terms is the only kind that counts and it is worth every moment of patience it requires. She is sweet and gentle and has a quiet affection that reveals itself in her own time and in her own way. She loves to be close to her people, curled up on the couch or tucked into a bed beside someone she trusts. She can use a crate but she is happiest when she has the freedom to roam and choose her own spot, which is usually as close to her humans as she can get on her own terms. She does an absolutely adorable little circle dance at mealtimes and takes treats with the most gentle softness you have ever felt. She is in there, warm and loving and real, and she is coming forward more every day. She does need to be approached with warning and care, particularly when being picked up. She is learning that hands that reach for her mean safety and kindness, but that is a new concept for Flossy and she needs a home that will honor that with patience and consistency. Flossy is on anxiety medication as she works through the big feelings that come with a life like hers. She needs a secure fence without exception as she is a flight risk outdoors. She thrives in a quiet home away from city noise, quick movements, and the unpredictability of young children. A confident and gentle dog companion in the home would help her feel more settled and secure. She needs an experienced and deeply patient adopter who understands that some dogs arrive already loving you, and some dogs arrive having to learn what love even is. Flossy is the second kind. And the person who earns her trust is going to receive something extraordinary in return. She spent 7 years giving everything she had to a world that gave her very little back. She deserves a home that changes that completely and forever.

Story
Location: Union Bridge, MD Meet Herman. This adorable 7 year old Miniature Poodle weighs about 12 pounds and has quickly earned the nickname "Baked Bean" in his foster home. A little round, a little fluffy, and completely lovable, Herman is the definition of a hidden gem waiting to blossom. Herman is a gentle, docile little guy who is slowly discovering that people can be trusted. He can be shy when approached and will often back away or freeze when touched unexpectedly. It is clear he has not had much handling or socialization in his past. Despite that, he does not have a mean bone in his body. In fact, once you pick him up, he relaxes completely and is often happy to curl up in your lap and even drift off to sleep. Every day brings a little more confidence. Herman is beginning to come out of his shell and is showing curiosity about the world around him. He enjoys light daily activity, short walks, and occasional play, but he is generally a calm and easygoing companion. One thing that gives Herman confidence is having another dog around. He closely follows his foster siblings, watches what they do, and often mimics their behavior. A home with a friendly, confident dog would be ideal for helping him continue building trust and learning how to navigate life. Herman is crate trained and does well with new people, though he prefers to take things at his own pace. He is still learning about collars, leashes, and outdoor potty routines. These skills remain works in progress, and he will need a patient adopter willing to continue helping him learn. He is remarkably cooperative for grooming and even tolerates nail trims despite still getting used to handling. What makes Herman so special is his willingness to try. Even when something feels scary, he quietly gives it his best effort, especially when a canine friend is there to show him the way. Herman is looking for a patient, understanding home that will celebrate the small victories and give him the time he needs to become his true self. In return, you will gain a sweet, gentle companion whose trust will be earned one precious moment at a time. If you believe the best relationships are built slowly and lovingly, Herman may be the perfect little Baked Bean for you.
