Story
Toby is a 6 year old miniature goldendoodle who we have had since he was a puppy. He has a big, goofy, sassy personality, he loves to explore and run around and solve puzzles. He's a great snuggler and loves to roll on his back for belly rubs and eat ice. We have discovered he sadly does not do well with young kids and has bitten both of mine (ages 2 and 4). He also doesn't do well with other animals/pets and needs to be the only pet in the home. He is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He has been to obedience school a few times, and knows all the basic commands but can be stubborn without evidence of a treat. He would do best with an experienced dog owner who is willing to dedicate time to continuing training practice with him (even at home). He would also love a fenced yard. Since we plan to continue expanding our family, we have made the difficult decision that it is in Toby's and our kids' best interest to find him a loving, quieter home to live out the rest of his years.

Story
Hudson is our 3 year-old hypoallergenic Goldendoodle. When we adopted Hudson he had a tumor growing in his mouth which required surgery. He had a rostral mandibulectomy where he is missing the lower part of his jaw. Even with all that he can still play, catch his ball, and eats like normal. Just a little more drooly. He is loyal, intelligent, playful, and loving. He doesn’t chew household items, unless they are his toys. We have two kids and he doesn’t touch their toys ever. He loves to play fetch and tug of war. Potty trained to go outside and very well trained all around. Hudson is meant for a family of older kids and adults. He IS a reactive dog when he sees people and dogs on a car ride and on a leash. He needs to be with experienced dog owners. He does well at dog parks. He has great recall off leash, but if there are people around just call him back. We can discuss more detail about his reactivity traits. I can send more pics and videos too.

Story
Dulce is an adorable 11.3-pound Miniature Goldendoodle (3 year old) with the sweetest little face, long white "mittens," and the cutest underbite that makes her absolutely irresistible. She's a tall but lightweight little lady with a gentle personality and a heart that's ready to finally experience what it means to be a cherished family dog. Dulce came to ROOT Rescue after being rescued from a breeding situation. Her past is heartbreaking, but we're so grateful she is finally safe and getting the chance to discover a completely different life. No more being used for breeding or living a life where her only purpose was to have puppies. Dulce's future is about being loved, spoiled, and treated like the family member she always deserved to be. Despite everything she's been through, Dulce has been such a sweet girl. She is a wonderful companion who simply loves being near her people and soaking up all the attention she can get. She has quickly learned to enjoy the comforts of being someone's beloved pet, and we don't blame her for wanting all the love she can get! Dulce has been doing very well with potty training. She does have the occasional small accident, which is understandable as she continues adjusting to her new life and learning her routine. She is also doing great on a leash and enjoys going for walks. The biggest thing her foster has noticed is that Dulce struggles with being alone. She can become anxious when separated from her people and really doesn't like the idea of her newfound attention disappearing. After spending her life in a breeding environment, it's understandable that she may need time to learn that her people are coming back and that she is finally safe. For this reason, we believe Dulce would do best with someone who works from home, is home more often than not, or has a lifestyle where she won't be left alone for long periods. She isn't asking for much—she simply wants to be someone's little shadow, follow her person around, and finally enjoy the love and companionship she's been missing. Dulce is ready to experience the simple things so many dogs take for granted: cozy beds, walks, treats, toys, cuddles, and having a family who loves her simply because she's Dulce. Her beautiful curly coat will also require regular grooming and maintenance to keep her comfortable and prevent matting. Dulce is fully vetted and ready to begin her new chapter. She is looking for a loving family who understands that transitioning from a breeding environment takes patience, reassurance, and time. In return, we know this sweet girl will give her family so much love. Dulce waited long enough for her chance at a real home. Now it's her turn to be spoiled. If you think Dulce could be the perfect addition to your family, we'd love to hear from you! For more information, please email info@rootrescue.org or visit www.rootrescue.org. Be sure to follow ROOT Rescue on Facebook and Instagram for more photos, videos, and updates on Dulce and all of our adoptable pets.

Story
Jazz was born in November 2024 and came from a reputable breeder on Lancaster Puppies. She's spayed, healthy, and ready to be the heart of a new family. Jazz is loving, playful, and full of energy. She's great with kids and gets along well with other dogs, making her a wonderful fit for an active household. she's cuddly and affectionate, and thrives on connection with her people. Because she bonds so closely with her family, Jazz does best with an owner who can give her plenty of attention and companionship because if not she can develop separation anxiety if left alone too often. She'd be perfect for a home where someone is around most of the day, or a family with kids and other dogs to keep her company. If you're looking for a loyal, high-energy companion who loves cuddles as much as playtime, Jazz could be exactly what you're looking for.

Story
Say cheese! Meet Cheddar Cheezdoodle! This young man was abandoned locally, his background a mystery and has been a bit of a tough guy to figure out. If you want a doodle because you heard they are easy first dogs who love everyone and everything and are quiet and calm and come fully trained and are basically living stuffed animals... you probably should rethink getting a dog at all, but definitely not this one. He was already neutered and recently groomed but no one came to claim him at the shelter . He is overall an outgoing happy friendly guy who loves adventures and meeting new people. But he has a nervous distrustful side and can get defensive with quick movements and some handling/being picked up, bothered when sleeping or laying down. He will need an experienced adult home that understands dog body language and can learn to work around his quirks and rules. Let sleeping dogs lie and give him his own sleeping space not in your bed. If he steals something out of the garbage instead of chasing and prying his mouth open he gets paid the cheese tax to give it up. Muzzled for vet appointment and grooming and no surprise collar grabbing or picking up. He is smart and a fast learner and expects you to learn his rules if you want him to learn yours. He is talkative and in tune with his people, stares at you and has full conversations like hes trying to desperately communicate something but we arent sure exactly what. Is he hungry? Want a walk? Playtime? Did Timmy fall down the well? . He definitely looks like he was loved and cared for at one point and we wish he could actually talk and tell us his story. He gets along with other dogs though sometimes barks in their face when playing and chases them so some dogs (and people) find him a bit annoying. We think he's a mini golden doodle, mini labradoodle, or maybe just a big mini poodle, about 22lbs and 2 years old. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Cheddar Cheezdoodle in Northern NJ. Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ.
