Story
We have a friend who breeds Great Danes and she offered this puppy to my daughter as a gift. He is a great dog, but she does not have the time required to care for him. He needs walking and playing time that she can't give. She is off to college in the fall and thought she would be taking him, but found out that no student housing will allow a big dog. He will need a home with a yard and someone who has time to walk him every day. He is very loving, completely house trained, and walks great on a leash. He accepts treats gently and knows how to sit and stay. He would do best in a house as the only pet, or with another large breed dog. He might be a problem for small children because in his enthusiasm he might knock them down.

Story
Mouse is a gentle 4-year-old Great Dane. True to her breed, she’s not a high-energy dog—she’s happiest with a nice walk, some thoughtful training time and play, and plenty of cozy moments on the couch. Once she trusts you, she loves to cuddle and will happily wag her little tail with just words of affirmation. Mouse finds confidence through structure and positive reinforcement. She likes playing with other dogs, though—as with many Great Danes—she needs thoughtful boundaries to avoid over-exercising and to support her long-term health. Her ideal home will understand the importance of moderation and ongoing care that helps giant breeds thrive. When Mouse first came into our care, she was very fearful of the world around her. Through patience and consistent support, she’s blossomed into a loving, affectionate companion. She’s still a cautious girl—very gentle, but sensitive—and will need continued, proper socialization to help her flourish. Mouse would do best with adopters who are committed to her long-term physical and emotional well-being. In return, she offers quiet devotion, a loving presence, and the kind of bond that feels incredibly special because you earned it. Mouse is house trained, can walk on leash, knows some basic commands, and is doing well building recall so far. Due to her size, we recommend a home without small children. If you’re looking for a sweet, tender giant who just wants to feel safe and loved, Mouse might be your girl. 💛

Meet Kane the Dane 🐾; A Friendly Giant Looking for His Forever Home Kane is a sweet, gentle Great Dane with a heart as big as he is. He absolutely loves kids, adults, and other dogs, and makes friends wherever he goes. His favorite things include: Playing with sticks Long walks Eating (of course!) Cozy naps and lounging like the king he is Kane has a loving, easygoing personality and would do great in a home that can give him time, affection, and space to stretch those long legs. He’s being rehomed due to a relocation and financial hardship—this decision comes from love and wanting the best for him. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bring joy, calm, and lots of cuddles into your life, Kane could be your perfect match.

Story
✨ Meet Steve Harrington ✨ Yes, that Steve Harrington, because much like the Stranger Things icon, this guy is impossibly handsome, wildly lovable, and rocking the most perfect floppy ears you’ve ever seen. Steve was found wandering downtown alone about two weeks ago, all skin and bones, trying to figure life out way too young. A friend scooped him up, and he’s been crashing with us ever since. While most rescues are full and the local shelter is closed for repairs (it’s rough out there for a homeless pup), we’re covering his care ourselves until we can find him what he really needs: a forever home. Steve is around 12 weeks old and already 25 pounds, so let’s be clear ... this is not a purse dog. The vet and I both suspect he’s a Great Dane mix, which means he’s on track to be a 100+ lb gentle giant. Big dog people, this is your moment. Despite his size, Steve is pure sunshine. He’s incredibly smart, crate trained, sleeping through the night, and hasn’t had an accident indoors in over a week (honestly, he’s showing off). He loves going for walks, sunbathing in the yard, chewing on sticks like it’s his job, and occasionally unleashing some truly impressive puppy zoomies. He plays beautifully with our two large dogs and can absolutely hold his own. Most importantly: Steve loves people. Like, deeply. Everyone he meets is immediately his best friend, and he’s generous with kisses. Consider yourself warned!
