Story
Special Note about Delta: Delta had a full ophthalmologic workup regarding her mild entropion, which is most noticeable on her lower right eyelid. Her veterinarian confirmed that her eyelashes do not contact the eye or cornea, and surgery is not recommended at this time. She completed a short course of Neopolydex eye medication and does very well with routine lubricating eye drops such as OptixCare lubricating eye gel (or another non-saline eye lubricant), which are recommended for lifelong comfort and eye support. Delta’s condition is currently mild and well managed, and she remains happy and comfortable!   Meet Delta — a 2 year old, 122 lb Great Dane with a giant frame, a giant heart, and a wonderfully pure spirit! Quick Facts: Name: Delta Breed: Great Dane Age: 2 years old Weight: 122 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (loves to play!) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Only older, teenage kids due to her size Energy Level: Medium - High Fence Required: Yes   About Delta’s Breed: Our best guess is that Delta is a Great Dane breed. Great Danes are known as gentle giants — affectionate, social, and deeply loyal dogs who love being close to their people. Despite their massive size, they’re typically calm, friendly, and easygoing, with a playful streak that shows up in zoomies and goofy antics. They thrive on companionship and often think they’re lap dogs, leaning in for affection whenever they can. Their ideal home is one with plenty of space, consistent exercise, and lots of human interaction. Because of their size and energy needs, a fenced yard is often important, along with a family familiar with large breed care. Great Danes do best in homes that can offer structure, gentle training, and the time and attention they crave. With the right environment, they become incredibly loving, loyal, and wonderfully charming companions. What to Love about Delta: Delta is social, affectionate, and loves making friends with both dogs and cats. She’s playful and silly, especially when she gets the zoomies in the backyard or when she’s squeaking her favorite toys! And when she’s not playing, she’s a total cuddle bug who loves nothing more than leaning in for affection. Delta is a big fan of car rides — especially when she can stick her head out the window or sunroof to feel the breeze. She’s great on a leash, an easygoing playmate, and has excellent house manners. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and can be trusted loose in the house when you’re away. Her only fear? Vacuum cleaners — they’re her sworn enemy. Her ideal home is one with plenty of affection, attention, and room to run. A fenced yard is a must for her size and energy level. She’d do well as an only dog or with another friendly dog, and she’d thrive with a family familiar with Great Danes or large breed dogs. Delta has medium high energy and needs regular exercise and stimulation to stay happy. She’s wonderful with adults but needs an adult only home or one with older kids, as she’s a large breed dog and may be too big for small children. Delta is an all-around amazing girl — loving, playful, social, and ready to bring joy to her forever family. She can’t wait to find her perfect home and live her best, big dog life! Delta’s Delightful Highlights: • 2 years old, 122 lb Great Dane with a sweet, social, and playful nature • Gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats • Loves squeaky balls, backyard zoomies, and cuddling with her humans • Absolutely adores car rides, especially with her head out the window or sunroof • Medium high energy and needs plenty of exercise, stimulation, and room to run • Great on a leash, easygoing with other dogs, and an all around fun playmate • Potty trained, crate trained, and has excellent house manners when left alone • Needs an adult only home, or one with teenagers/older kids • Ideal home includes a fenced yard and a family familiar with Great Danes or large breeds • Affectionate, loyal, and ready to find her perfect forever family who will love her big heart and big personality Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. Story
Meet Misty! Misty and her sister Penny are looking for their forever home together. These girls are littermates and have spent their whole lives together. House broken, dog friendly, and fully vetted, they're hoping to find a home that loves them both! These gentle giants (and big lap puppies!) Would fit in most homes, but we would advise no small animals or small children due to their size.  ##2649812##

Story
Meet Penny! Penny and her sister Misty are 3 year old great dane × mastiffs who are looking for their forever home. Their owners surrendered them due to no fault of their own.  Together their entire lives, these girls need to stay together. They are good with other dogs, house broken, and fully vetted. These gentle giants are sweet and need someone to love them! We wouldn't recommend them for small animals, or small children just due to their size.  ##2649811##

Story
Have you ever wanted to cuddle a pony? Meet BANJO Well, Banjo is as close as it gets. At 123lbs, he has nothing but giant snuggles to give. Banjo is 3/4 Great Dane and 1/4 Great Pyrenees, and 100% wonderful. If you are familiar with a giant breed, he has all of the attributes, including the slobber. Good with cats, dogs, and grown-ups but nervous around tiny humans who don’t yet understand dog boundaries. He lived with children prior to coming to the US Dog Coalition and Rescue and would do great with children out of the toddler stage. He walks like a dream on a leash and is a very good boy in the car. He’s happiest with his people and gets a little anxious in his kennel when left alone, but he is working hard on that and is making great strides with the help of our trainer. He’s working on getting more confident and would do well with someone who understands his giant-baby needs, but will make someone the very best friend. If you would like to meet Banjo please fill out an adoption application here: www.usdogcoalition.org/adoptions

NoWhy is the dog being rehomed? I can’t meet his needs. I am unsure of how to care properly for an aggressive dog. What do you feel would be a perfect home for the dog? Large fenced in backyard or someone who doesn’t mind taking him somewhere he can get out energy and run. This boy loves to run. No small kids but I think older kids would be fine (as long as the family knows the risks). Had the resources to get him the training he deserves, someone that is patient and kind and loving to him and willing to put in the work to understand his triggers. Could do well as an only dog but has always had doggie siblings.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 6:01 pm
