Story
Meet Diesel! 🤍 Diesel is a stunning one-year-old Great Dane weighing in at 105 pounds of pure love, goofiness, and puppy energy. While he may look like a full-grown dog, he’s really just a giant puppy who’s still learning how big he is. Diesel is incredibly affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s with his person. He’ll gladly shower you with kisses, follow you from room to room, and do just about anything to convince you it’s time to play. If you’re looking for a dog who will be your best friend through every adventure, Diesel is ready for the job. Because of his size and enthusiasm, Diesel needs an active home with someone who is committed to continuing his training and ideally has experience with giant breeds or understands what it takes to raise one. He’s very mouthy when he plays—not aggressive, just expressive—and it’s simply part of how he communicates. He has never shown us any intentional aggression, but his size and puppy exuberance mean he isn’t the right fit for every home. Diesel gets along wonderfully with both big and small dogs. The only challenge is that he tries to play with little dogs the same way he plays with dogs his own size. He truly has no idea he’s over 100 pounds, so he’ll do best with someone who can help him continue learning appropriate manners. We also want to share a part of Diesel’s story. Before coming to The Asher House, Diesel was adopted from a shelter for just one night before being returned after an accident. While someone was eating barbecue ribs, Diesel excitedly jumped up to grab the food and accidentally caught the person’s face. There was no blood, no stitches, and no lasting injury. Sadly, because of the incident, the shelter was considering euthanasia before reaching out to us. Since arriving here, Diesel has been nothing but a gentle, loving boy. He has been wonderful with our staff, adores people, and quickly bonds with his favorite person. We truly believe the incident was just that—an accident caused by an oversized puppy who got too excited around food. Diesel would do best in a home with children 16 years and older, no cats, and a family that can match his energy while continuing to help him grow into the incredible dog we know he is. If you’re ready for a giant shadow, an endless supply of love, and a best friend who will make you laugh every day, apply to meet Diesel today. He is truly one special dog. Diesel's adoption fee is $295 and he's neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Apply to meet Diesel today!

Story
Meet Boone – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start Boone is a striking Great Dane and Black Mouth Cur mix at 65 pounds with soulful eyes and a quiet, thoughtful demeanor. Rescued after being abandoned on the roadside, Boone's past suggests he was used as a hunting dog and likely spent much of his life confined to a kennel. This history has left him shy and cautious at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, Boone reveals his deeply affectionate side. Once he begins to trust, Boone becomes a devoted companion who craves gentle affection and enjoys peaceful moments with his person. He thrives in a calm environment and takes comfort in the presence of other dogs—he gets along wonderfully with canine companions and would benefit from a home with another friendly dog to help boost his confidence. Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Boone is looking for a foster or forever home in Central Texas only. He needs a loving, understanding family who can help him continue to blossom at his own pace. His ideal adopter would be someone familiar with hounds or someone who appreciates the gentle, loyal nature of these incredible breeds. If you're a hound enthusiast or simply someone with a kind heart and a quiet home, Boone may be the perfect match for you. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone who sees his potential and will offer the love and patience he’s never known before. Boone is ready to start again. Story
Breaker is up for adoption in TX, NE and PNW (excluding MA)! Meet Breaker – Your Adventure Buddy in the Making! Breaker is a handsome Great Dane mix a little over a year old who is ready to find an active, committed family to call his own. At around 65 pounds, he’s a wonderful blend of big-dog presence and goofy puppy charm. Breaker is currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, but he can be transported to the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast United States for the right home. Breaker thrives on activity and he still has that classic puppy energy, so he’s looking for a family that understands the importance of positive correction, consistency, and continued training to help him grow into the best version of himself. With the right guidance, Breaker is eager to learn and please. One of Breaker’s favorite things in the world is going on adventures. He absolutely loves riding in the car and would be thrilled to tag along for hikes, outings, road trips, or any fun day spent exploring with his people. Water is another big favorite—splashing, wading, and cooling off are right up his alley. When playtime rolls around, Breaker is all in. He loves toys of all kinds and enjoys playing with dogs his own size. Most of all, Breaker wants to be with his people. He would happily spend the entire day with his family, whether that means being on the go or just hanging out together. If you’re an active household looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share life’s adventures, Breaker may be the perfect match for you. Story
Zeppelin is a three year old Great Dane who I have had since he was just a puppy. He was raised with his sister who is also up for adoption. They are very loving dogs, but have leash and fence reactivity, resource guarding as well as a strong prey drive. I think they would do best adopted to different homes and as the only dog in the home. They have been in two fights with a dog living on the property we are on and that combined with me moving into a very small space means I need to find a new loving home for them. He would do best with someone who is familiar with the breed and dedicated to training. Please let me know if you might be a good fit or have questions! Thanks so much!
