This is Kuma. He is 4 years old. He needs to be in a home as the only dog as he has resource guarding issues with food regarding other dogs. He is okay with humans handling his food though. He is good with cats but he is clumsy and a hazard to anything below his chin when he is walking / running (which is why he needs a new home as we have small children). He is a pretty good boy and knows sit, stay, high five/ give me paw, and wait. He hates baths and will run away if you ask him if he wants one. He knows what the work kitchen means and will go there if asked. He learns pretty quickly and is very gentle with his mouth. If you take a ball out of his mouth with your hands and make a yip sound he will immediately let go. He is a goofy guy and it was a hard decision to make to let him go but in the end we think this is what is best for him.

It’s important to note that he has previously exhibited reactive behaviors towards other dogs or people, so he needs a home that is willing to work with him. Currently he is improving! He is goofy, sweet, intelligent, cuddly and energetic. He smart & can be prone to boredom behaviors, so he would do well with lots of activity. He can be a great hiking companion but is also content to nap beside you; he needs intellectual stimulation like puzzles and tasks more than he needs to get tired out with walks.
