Story
Bones is our Gentle Guardian with a Steady Soul”  Bones may sound like an unexpected name for a dog as strikingly handsome as this Great Pyrenees boy—but once you meet him, it fits perfectly. Bones has the kind of solid structure, steady presence, and dependable nature that makes you feel grounded just standing beside him. At just 11 months old and currently weighing about 60 pounds, he’s still a teenage pup—but his personality already carries the calm wisdom his breed is known for. Bones has a wonderfully peaceful demeanor. He’s the kind of dog who greets you at the door with quiet joy, offering comfort and companionship after a long day. There’s something incredibly reassuring about him—like a safe harbor wrapped in a fluffy white coat. He walks regally on leash, turning heads wherever he goes, and carries himself with confidence without being pushy or demanding. Despite a rough start in life—originally belonging to a homeless woman who left him in the care of friends—Bones has never let hardship shape his heart. Now safely with Critter Cavalry Rescue, he is neutered, fully vetted, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccines and deworming. Bones truly is a friend to all. He does beautifully with dogs, cats, chickens, and people of every age. True to his Great Pyrenees roots, he is observant and watchful, naturally protective without being reactive. He is housebroken, knows basic commands, and enjoys a structured routine. A securely fenced yard is a must—Bones loves spending long hours outside soaking up good weather, playing independently or alongside other dogs. He’s also mastered the art of indoor relaxation and proudly holds top honors from “Couch Potato School.” We expect Bones to mature into a stunning 75–85 pound adult. He would thrive with a family or individual who understands the Great Pyrenees breed and welcomes him as a true member of the household—inside and out, every day.If you’re searching for a loyal, gentle, and enduring companion, Bones is waiting. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you have the secure home and breed understanding this special boy deserves.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 25, 2025, 12:24 am

With his striking coat, soulful eyes, and oversized paws he hasn’t quite grown into yet, Bullet is the perfect blend of playful puppy and gentle giant in the making. He greets each day with a wagging tail and an open heart, always ready for fun, affection, and a new adventure by your side. Bullet is happiest when he’s with his people. He thrives on companionship, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement. Despite his impressive size, he is incredibly sweet-natured—careful, patient, and loving with everyone he meets. Whether he’s bouncing around during playtime or settling in close for a quiet moment, Bullet’s calm, trusting spirit shines through. He wants nothing more than to belong, to love, and to be loved in return. As a growing Great Dane, Bullet needs thoughtful care to help him mature into a strong, healthy adult. He should be fed a high-quality large-breed puppy diet, carefully portioned to support steady growth and protect his developing joints. Overfeeding and rapid weight gain should be avoided. Fresh water should always be available. Exercise is important, but moderation is key. Bullet enjoys daily walks, gentle play, and mental stimulation, but strenuous exercise, excessive jumping, and hard impact should be limited until he is fully grown. His joints and bones are still developing, and protecting them now will ensure a long, comfortable life ahead. Bullet benefits greatly from consistent training, patience, and kind leadership. Positive reinforcement helps him build confidence and good manners, especially as he grows into his size. Socialization with people, dogs, and new environments should continue at a calm, positive pace to reinforce his naturally friendly temperament. Routine veterinary care, including vaccinations, parasite prevention, and regular checkups, is essential. His ears, nails, and coat should be checked and maintained regularly, and his living space should be safe, spacious, and filled with soft places to rest—because Great Danes love their comfort. Most of all, Bullet needs love, stability, and reassurance. He is a sensitive soul who bonds deeply with his family and thrives when treated as a true member of the home. In return, he gives unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a presence that feels like home itself. Bullet isn’t just a dog—he’s a lifelong companion, a gentle guardian, and a beautiful reminder that the biggest hearts often come in the biggest bodies. 🐾💙 DO NOT EMAIL. Story
Oakley came into rescue through a veterinary office. He is a very under weight, neutered 5 1/2 yrs old and will need time to decompress. He is unknown to young children. However, he is good with children 11 years and up. He appears to like all dogs of every size and shape and loves to play with them. He is not aware of his size so he will need direction when playing too rough. He will have a training contract as he loves to go for walks. However, if given enough lead he will pull you over. He is unknown with cats. If you have a home, would like to meet this boy, and are willing to give him a couch to sleep on, please let us know. Please include your home area code and a phone number where a volunteer can reach you when contacting us about an adoption.
