Story
Meet Doug! Doug is a handsome 1-year-old Great Pyrenees/Lab mix with a gentle heart and a sensitive soul. Although his previous home’s DNA test labeled him as 100% Great Pyrenees, we know his mother wasn’t a Pyr—so he’s truly a unique mix! Doug has had obedience training, but he’s still quite skittish and needs a patient, calm adopter who can help him continue building confidence. Because of his timid nature, he is not suited for homes with children under 10. He does well with other dogs and cats and would thrive in a quiet household where he can feel safe and settle in at his own pace. Doug has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and heartworm tested negative. His adoption fee is $250. If you have a peaceful home, a gentle approach, and a heart ready to help a shy boy blossom, Doug may be the perfect match for you.November 22, 2025, 6:59 pm

Story
Stitch is a 7 month old female Great Pyrenees mix with a gorgeous coat of tan, white, and brown that makes her truly one of a kind. She is a sweet, engaging pup who loves being around people and has a natural charm that draws everyone in. Stitch is currently living peacefully with two other dogs and she is often one of the first to greet visitors, eager to make new friends. She has a playful spirit and can often be found romping around with her sister Ming; but most of all, she especially enjoys spending quality time with her human companions. Stitch has also shown she is gentle with young children, seeming to understand how to be calm and careful around them. Overall, Stitch shows all the signs of being a wonderful family dog. Story
Nikita is an almost one year old female Pyrenees mix and a true “gentle giant” who wins hearts the moment you meet her. Laid-back and calm, she is an easy girl to love, with excellent manners and wonderful leash skills that make every walk a joy. It seems clear that she once came from a home where she was loved and cherished, and she receives that same affection at the shelter - yet Nikita is soooo deserving to feel that kind of love all of the time, in a forever home of her own. With the holidays approaching, we’d be thrilled to see her settle into the warmth and security of a family who adores her. Go meet Nikita soon, and take home your new best friend and loyal companion. The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA.
