Murphy -Great Pyrenees/Lab mix, large male, needs an experienced home with space. Murphy is a loving but very strong and energetic dog who needs someone comfortable managing a large breed. He has received obedience training but remains stubborn, this is a Great Pyrenees trate! He is not appropriate for a home with cats. We are looking for someone with time, space,patience, and experience to give Murphy the environment he needs. Thank you!

She is good with Cats as long as its "Hers". She is great with other dogs and large livestock. She however does kill chickens. She is just impossible to contain. You cannot put her in a kennel as she will get out. She digs out or breaks out of pens or cages. She is super sweet and listens very well. Just does not like to be contained. She is getting into the neighbors barn and eating their cat's food and other feed as well. She LOVES cat food for some reason. Electric collars do not work on her. I would keep her in the house but no-one is home during the day at all and our daughter is VERY allergic to her when she is inside. The other dogs stay within the electronic fence boundary and are fine. She does not really like being inside as she likes to be outside and wandering around. She will keep any predators off your land. She does fine inside with someone around. If not, she will try and break out. She just needs someone who can be around her a lot more frequently then we can.

Great Pyrenees 2 thumbnail We recently took in a 5 year old purebred unaltered Great Pyrenees from someone unable to keep their pet but he wasn’t a great fit for what we were looking for. He is a wonderful dog and a very good boy but needs a little more work with guarding goats. With some training, I believe he would be a great livestock guardian. He is great with other dogs and children. He would also be a great pet. We are heartbroken to have to find another home for him but unfortunately we just don’t have the time to devote to training.

***Courtesy Post*** Bear's owner needs a new home for him by 10/1! 4yo Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix, good with kids and dogs but not cats, UTD on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. He is very energetic and lovable. He has a big personality and loves playing outside (if he can) or chewing his favorite chew toy. Bear will never pass up an opportunity for a nap or cuddles. Bear would thrive in a home with a fenced in yard and a loving family or a couple with extra time on their hands to dedicate to him. Bear can be anxious when left alone but when he has access to an outdoor space he is nowhere near as anxious during these times. Its a plus if you already have another dog as bear loves playing with other dogs and has lived with several different dogs over the years we have had him. He is such a good boy and we want so much for him to be placed in a good home with loving owners. My early days started with being kept crated 24/7, used for breeding and hardly cared for. Finally, my “family” abandoned me, which may have been the best gift possible. I was found as a stray and taken in as an emergency due to my condition. Between the help of many rescuers, I made my way to CO•PAW and have transformed into my absolute best self. From skin & bones to healthy & playful! I love sleeping on the couch, sometimes trying to scooch my way onto a lap if I’m allowed. I just learned how to play with my foster brothers and I love running in the yard with them, too. I love my food and treats! I am working on basic commands and definitely food motivated. I prefer to be fed away from other pets. After having been starved, I can get a wee bit protective of my foods. I REQUIRE... A fenced in yard or lots of walkies! If you have a flimsy fence, that might not work for me. If I see a deer or a rabbit, I want to try to get it. 👀 My foster mom had a weak spot in her fence, and I went on a bit of a walk about. I got snowball from a farmer when he was just a pup. He turned 3 years old August 14th. He needs more space, and a family that has more time to spend with him. He’s an amazing dog. Really good with children and other dogs. He absolutely dislikes car rides. Very protective. He’s a really relaxed calm dog.
