Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Welcome Brian to DASH! This mellow great pyrenees/shepherd mix came to DASH from a rural shelter where he was going to be euthanized for space. Brian is housebroken, loveable, and a very mellow guy who loves everyone he meets. His favorite past time is laying around getting loved on. He is currently in our DASH prison program working on his basic commands. He is crate trained, potty trained in the prison setting and walks well on a leash. He loves all dogs, but has not been kid or cat tested. His breed needs a job, something to keep him busy and engaged, so his new family should be prepared to give him that. He would make a great pet for anyone. AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Leia 🩷 📍 Fostered in: Westerville, OH 🐶 Good with dogs: Yes 🐈 Good with cats: Yes 👧 Good with kids: Yes 🏠 Housebroken: Yes 📦 Crate trained: Yes 🐾 Leash trained: Working on it! ⸻ Hi, I’m Leia 👋🏼 I am an estimated 6-8 year old large mixed breed in search of my final destination. My foster family DNA tested me and I am 50% Great Pyrenees, 20.1% Cane Corso, 19.6% American Pit Bull Terrier, and 10.3% American Bulldog. More importantly, I am 100% the best girl! My early days started with being kept crated 24/7, used for breeding and hardly cared for. Finally, my “family” abandoned me, which may have been the best gift possible. I was found as a stray and taken in as an emergency due to my condition. Between the help of many rescuers, I made my way to CO•PAW and have transformed into my absolute best self. From skin & bones to healthy & playful! I love sleeping on the couch, sometimes trying to scooch my way onto a lap if I’m allowed. I just learned how to play with my foster brothers and I love running in the yard with them, too. I love my food and treats! I am working on basic commands and definitely food motivated. I prefer to be fed away from other pets. After having been starved, I can get a wee bit protective of my foods. I REQUIRE... A fenced in yard or lots of walkies! If you have a flimsy fence, that might not work for me. If I see a deer or a rabbit, I want to try to get it. 👀 My foster mom had a weak spot in her fence, and I went on a bit of a walk about. Once that was fixed, I have been fine! ⸻ 🩺 Veterinary Care Provided All CO•PAW dogs are: ✔️ Spayed/Neutered ✔️ Microchipped ✔️ Heartworm tested (1+ year) ✔️ Given preventatives and initial vaccines If booster shots have not yet occurred, they may be completed for free at our Columbus, OH clinic—or at your own vet, at your expense. ⸻ 📝 Adoption Info •Must live in the State of Ohio •No transport available—adopters must travel for the meet & greet •Meet & greets are scheduled only after application approval •Please come prepared to take your new best friend home if it’s a match! Bring a collar, leash, harness, and crate for safe travel.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER :   Mr. Popular! Max/Cottontail gets along with everyone! Except chickens!   HISTORY : Max (FKA Cottontail) was the biggest pup in Bunny’s litter and was raised using the Puppy Protocol with proper socialization. He was adopted by a wonderful family with other dogs, cats, kids and a farmette with chickens. He went to an office with the owners every day and enjoyed time with visitors between naps. Max enjoyed playtime until he met the few chickens that he could catch and play a bit rough with. The adopters thought it best to return him to us to find him another home.      PERSONALITY : Max is friendly, laid back, curious, brave and loving. He is very food motivated so he would be easy to train for any advanced tasks. He knows sit, paw, come (in his own time). He goes to a dog friendly office every day and is not reactive, sleeps, greets with a tail wag and is learning not to jump up and hug new friends.  FAVORITE ACTIVITIES : Meeting new friends, chewing all types of gullet sticks, antlers, kong, filled bones, treats and surgically removing squeakers from stuffies between naps.   MEDICAL ISSUES : NONE. Up to date on all vaccines.  Neutered, rear deux claws removed. Max has been exposed to all types of proteins with no issues. Like most dogs, consistent food keep his tummy happy.  He eats 2x per day. He is not a picky eater.  WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME : He would be best around his people and another dog. He has manners and is a gentleman but still needs some structure and guidance. He is still a puppy but a mature one. He would love to be active and have a job to do. Boredom is his nemesis. He enjoys a schedule and his naps. He loves riding In the car so would be a fabulous travel companion. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS : Max just had a first visit to the groomer and did well. Not a fan of the noises of the dryer or the cremel on his nails but, he would get used to it with more experience. He is shedding a bit now in the spring but has not been a big shedder like his Pyrenees momma. His DNA Test came back with 53% Pyrenees from his pure bred momma as well as chow, lab, and lots of others mixed in.   Click here to watch a video of Cottontail (Max).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
