Story
Meet Bear — the gentle giant with a heart as big as his paws Bear is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who weighs 76 pounds of pure, fluffy goodness. With his wise eyes and calm presence, he’s basically an old soul in a dog’s body—the kind of companion who makes you feel at ease just by being near him. This handsome boy is the definition of a gentle giant. He’s incredibly sweet, quietly observant, and carries himself with a calm dignity… until it’s time to go for a walk! Bear is quite strong on leash, so he’ll need someone who can handle his size and help guide him with consistency. But underneath that strength is a soft, loving heart just waiting to fully bloom in a home of his own. While Bear has shown a medium energy level at the shelter, we truly believe his personality will shine even brighter once he’s settled into a loving home. He’s already proven himself to be a tidy gentleman—keeping his kennel clean like the polite houseguest he is.Bear hasn’t shown much reaction to other dogs at the shelter, but compatibility with dogs, cats, and children is currently unknown. As always, a meet and greet with any resident canine is required to make sure it’s a perfect match.Let’s talk about that coat—because WOW. Bear is rocking a thick, fluffy masterpiece that practically begs for cozy cuddle sessions and admiring glances. He’d thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can stretch his legs, enjoy the outdoors, and live his best majestic life.Bear is available through our foster-to-adopt program, which means you can welcome him into your home while he completes his vetting at our vet. This includes neuter, vaccines, microchip, and heartworm testing—all taken care of while you get to know your new best friend. If you’re ready to add this sweet, soulful boy to your life, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online adoption application for him. Bear’s adoption fee is $160.Come meet Bear—you just might find your perfect match in this fluffy, wise gentleman.

Meet Brody, our 85-pound "work in progress" with a heart twice his size! 🐾 Brody is a 4-to-5-year-old Great Pyrenees who is the definition of a happy-go-lucky soul. While he came to us a bit underweight, we’re currently working on a "yum-filled" plan to get him up to his optimal fluffiness. What you need to know about this big guy: Total Sweetheart: Brody’s favorite hobby? Being petted. If you have hands, he has a job for you. Social Butterfly: He’s currently in foster care with other canine friends and does great with his pack. Gentle Giant: Despite his size, he’s a mellow, easygoing boy who just wants to belong. If you’re looking for a loyal, fluffy shadow to brighten your home, Brody is your man! He’s ready to find a forever family that will help him finish his journey to a healthy weight and give him all the head scratches he can handle. Interested in meeting this handsome boy? Story
This pup is amazing! He is the ultimate family dog. Docile, affectionate, (he can get carried away; we will talk about this) social with people and dog, one you can take anywhere with you and know that he won’t embarrass you :D Patio dining, flea market, camping. We are not fans of dog parks (and don’t do this!) but Bolt can have multiple rambunctious dogs coming at him and he won’t react negatively. He plays with all sized dogs. When he sees his humans, he likes to say hello. He may jump up to kiss you. Yeah, that’s how Bolt rolls. European-style greetings He loves to chill and cuddle with his humans. Sometimes, he gets carried away and bulldozes you to the ground for pets and affection. Other than Bolt’s zest for love and affection, he is generally chill and calm. Oh wait, he does bark for attention if he feels he is ignored :/ Bolt is 1.5 years old, 55lb Great Pyrenees mix. He is looking for a semi-active family who loves outdoor activities (Bolt likes to be seen and be out and about) as well as family time cuddling on the couch. A family with a playful pup is preferred as Bolt loves the companionship of a furry friend.

Story
Nothing beats having an older, well-behaved gentleman by your side to pass the days. If you work from home, Ollie will chill quietly beside you while you earn your keep, pay the rent, put food on the table. If there are other doggos in the house, good! Ollie will just lay beside them and chill together. If it is play time, Ollie will take those walks and hikes with you. He keeps up with you, stamina for stamina. Ollie is just a wonderful, sweet, affectionate, and mellow boy. He can be laid back when the time and day dictates it and let loose and be crazy when it is time to just be free. He is quite vocal when playing with other dogs and sometimes with his humans, too. Yes, he has a mouth on him when he feels like talking back. Sometimes Ollie is so excited to play with friends, he gets a little humpy :/ And sometimes, Ollie gets so excited he tosses his butt in the other dog’s face to play. It is rude, we know :/ Ollie is respectful of the house. He keeps the house accident and destruction free. That said, if you leave food out, that is free game. Ollie will have himself a food party. He loves cereal. Do not leave cereal boxes out! Ollie is a good looking, healthy 8.5-year-old, 100lb Great Pyrenees St Bernard mix. He is crate trained and house broken. He is used to taking his meals in his crate. He will let out a growl if other dogs approach him while he is eating in his crate. If that happens, call his name and he will snap out of it. Ollie makes a wonderful, family dog, He is respectful of you and other dogs in the home. He doesn’t jump on you unless it is to give you kisses. We think Ollie is as close to perfection as it comes!
