Meet Rowan! 🐾 Rowan is a handsome Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mix with a wonderful combination of intelligence, energy, and affection. This smart boy knows several basic commands, including sit, heel, down, stay, and leave it, along with a few others. He listens well and is eager to please. Rowan is also incredibly lovable and enjoys getting plenty of pets and attention. One of his sweetest tricks? He even knows how to give hugs! Rowan is crate trained and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for an affectionate, intelligent, and well-mannered dog who still has plenty of energy to share. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. We are rehoming our 3 year old female great Pyrenees. She is a very lovable dog, however we r rehoming her due to being food aggressive. We have 2 younger children and there was never an issue with her, but they weren't around her while she was eating. She has always been a pet, not a livestock guardian dog. She has experience going to a groomer and loves going for car rides.

Meet Chipley!! Chipley is a 7 yr old handsome Pyrenees weighing 80 lbs. Chipley is house-trained, crate-trained and knows his basic commands. He is a super sweet dog that looks like a happy Polar Bear ;-) Chipley is well behaved in the home and can be trusted "home alone". He is great with other dogs and is currently participating in Doggie Daycare at Paws by the Lake. Chipley love all people he meets. Unfortunately Chipley's owner moved out of state for a job that requires travel and could not that Chipley. Chipley is neutered, completely vaccinated and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Chipley, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Chipley would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Lennox gets an A++ for looks, personality, style and swag! Look at him. Cameras don’t lie. Lennox is absolutely stunning but his good looks are only the beginning😊 Personality wise, Lennox is calm, collected, chill, affectionate and incredibly friendly with people and all dogs. And then there's style. Lennox’s got it down. He may walk at a leisurely pace, but the way his body moves and that gorgeous tail sways with every step? Pure confidence and swag. Talk about an all-star! Lennox loves to be near you but not quite touching. He particularly likes to put his face close to yours, stopping just short of touching. He spent a lot of time alone in his previous home, so it is almost as if he is being polite by not intruding on your space. I am not quite as polite. I pull him close, hug him, kiss him and he is ok with that! Lennox loves his walks. He is a gentle walker. You almost have to give him gentle reminder tugs to pick up the pace 😊 But when he is in a silly mood, he gallops 😊Lennox loves playing with other dogs. His silly side comes out when he plays. He uses his mouth and paws to engage his friends. Lennox is a 5-year-old, 65lb Great Pyrenees mix. He is looking for a relatively quiet home where his humans can continue to show him what it means to truly belong. Family means being together, doing things together whenever possible. Long hours spent alone is a thing of the past. Lennox would love a home with a 4-legged sibling to play with and for companionship.

Angel is a 1 year 2 month old Boxer/Great Pyrenees mix weighing 66 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender with her sister after an accidental pregnancy. Angel is a sweet and gentle girl with lots of love to give. She is looking for a home with lots of time, love and experience. She is nervous and shy with new people, places and life in general. Angel is unsure of strangers and needs help building trust and confidence. Once you've earned her trust you'll have a new shadow. We do believe she has separation anxiety. She'll happily crawl into your lap (does not know her own size), or sit behind you in the chair, circle around your legs and between your feet. She loves her chew toys, balls and ropes. Treat motivated and a quick learner. Working on learning how to walk on a leash as she had never been on one before coming to the shelter. She is accustomed to a fenced in yard being allowed on the furniture. Not housebroken. Fearful of car rides and thunder. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00 (includes $1.00 service charge).Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today!
