Story
Angel is a 1 year old Boxer/Great Pyrenees mix weighing 66 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender with her sister after an accidental pregnancy. Angel is a sweet and gentle girl with lots of love to give. She is looking for a home with lots of time, love and experience. She is nervous and shy with new people, places and life in general. Angel is unsure of strangers and needs help building trust and confidence. Once you've earned her trust you'll have a new shadow. We do believe she has separation anxiety. She'll happily crawl into your lap (does not know her own size), or sit behind you in the chair, circle around your legs and between your feet. She loves her chew toys, balls and ropes. Treat motivated and a quick learner. Working on learning how to walk on a leash as she had never been on one before coming to the shelter. She is accustomed to a fenced in yard being allowed on the furniture. Not housebroken. Fearful of car rides and thunder. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00 (includes $1.00 service charge). Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!

Story
Please contact Sheri (sswank1@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  Buck is almost 3 years old, is DNA tested, and guess what!?! He is exactly 50% GSD and 50% Great Pyrenees. What a fun combo for a dog! He gets super excited when he sees me getting my tennis shoes on, or my ball cap because he knows it means we're going hiking. He's 100 pounds of lean handsomeness. LOL. He does well as a couch potato and is calm in the house on a normal quiet day. He is house trained, crate trained and does well with other non dominant dogs. He loves playing fetch with any ball, and if you don't have time to play, Buck plays by himself. I'm looking for a home without young children because Buck does have herding/guarding tendencies. Buck is looking for someone who loves the big boys, and can handle them. Bucks adoption fee is $200, and includes all up to date vaccines, neuter, microchip, flea and heartworm preventative, and endless love and appreciation from BUCK! Please fill out our non-obligatory application at pawsandprayers.org if you would like to adopt him!! Please email sswank1@gmail.com with any questions. This pet qualifies for the Pets for Patriots program https://www.petsforpatriots.org/veterans August 19, 2026, 7:38 pm
