Story
Ursa is a 5-year-old female Great Pyrenees weighing approximately 80 pounds. She is spayed and has been part of our family since we brought her home from a breeder as a puppy. She was the runt of her litter and didn't pass her livestock guardian evaluation, but has been a wonderful family companion. Ursa is gentle, friendly, and great with children, other dogs, and cats. She has a confident, alpha-female personality and would likely do best with a more easygoing dog rather than another dominant personality. She loves walks, spending time outdoors, and chasing squirrels and other critters. Ideally, her new home would have a large, securely fenced yard where she can run and explore. My wife and I are planning to relocate and unfortunately cannot bring her with us. We're flexible on timing and want to find a responsible, loving family who will give her the care and attention she deserves.

Story
I got Roxie at 8 weeks ok she grew up with me in college. She is an amazing dog and it breaks my heart having to part with her because she’s a great dog. But with my living situation and career path I just can’t exercise her as much as she needs. She is extremely smart and well behaved. She does amazing with other dogs but has shown signs of aggression over food only with dogs. She will come with her crate and her food bowl. She’s the most loving dog I’ve ever had and I just want her to have a life that I can not give her and I know someone else can.

Story
I have had Topato since she was a puppy she was born on a porch in the middle of winter and needed a home. We’ve moved through multiple states (so she’s great in cars) and I think that stress has finally caught up with her and the apartment life just isn’t for her. In the past we have had huge yards and now that we don’t have one I think she is unhappy. So that’s definitely something I’m looking for in her new home. I am constantly busy with work and can’t give her the attention she deserves. Shes 6 years old (bday nov 20) so smart, loves food, and loves to cuddle. Her favorite trick is to spin. She loves the outdoors. She was raised with other dogs but she hasn’t been around any in awhile so unsure of how she would do freshly introduced. She’s great with cats doesn’t bother them if they want nothing to do with her and doesn’t mind if they wanna cuddle. Zero experience being around children. She’s a sweety pie just a little anxious at times.

Angel is a 1 year 3 month old Boxer/Great Pyrenees mix weighing 66 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender with her sister after an accidental pregnancy. Angel is a sweet and gentle girl with lots of love to give. She is looking for a home with lots of time, love and experience. She is nervous and shy with new people, places and life in general. Angel is unsure of strangers and needs help building trust and confidence. Once you've earned her trust you'll have a new shadow. We do believe she has separation anxiety. She'll happily crawl into your lap (does not know her own size), or sit behind you in the chair, circle around your legs and between your feet. She loves her chew toys, balls and ropes. Treat motivated and a quick learner. Working on learning how to walk on a leash as she had never been on one before coming to the shelter. She is accustomed to a fenced in yard being allowed on the furniture. Not housebroken. Fearful of car rides and thunder. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00 (includes $1.00 service charge).Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today!
