Story

We adopted Luke from a local shelter in March 2026. He is now approximately 8-9 months old. Shortly after he settled in our home he began showing signs of resource guarding (his food and me) We moved his food to a private location and don’t allow him to interact with us when we feed him but his guarding of me has become unsafe for my children. He does not like when they approach me or are around me. He needs someone experienced with this behavior and I would recommend no children in the home. He is up to date on all vaccinations, house trained, does well on a leash, and is not reactive to neighbors-dogs- kids while in our yard or going for walks. His barking is minimal and he sleeps through the night in my bedroom. He loves going on adventures to the park and dog friendly stores. He is a wonderful dog if it was just myself, but as much as we’ve worked with him we just don’t feel comfortable with him around the kids (age 9-15). Please someone give him a good home!

Ursa is a 5-year-old female Great Pyrenees weighing approximately 80 pounds. She is spayed and has been part of our family since we brought her home from a breeder as a puppy. She was the runt of her litter and didn't pass her livestock guardian evaluation, but has been a wonderful family companion. Ursa is gentle, friendly, and great with children, other dogs, and cats. She has a confident, alpha-female personality and would likely do best with a more easygoing dog rather than another dominant personality. She loves walks, spending time outdoors, and chasing squirrels and other critters. Ideally, her new home would have a large, securely fenced yard where she can run and explore. My wife and I are planning to relocate and unfortunately cannot bring her with us. We're flexible on timing and want to find a responsible, loving family who will give her the care and attention she deserves.

They had a 5 yr old child and were having major problems with Titan being too rough and nipping. When they reached out to the rescue to take him back they said the adopters would have to rehome him, as they couldn't take him back. Even though he didn't come from our rescue we felt the need to help, as unlike his previous rescue, we worried about him ending up in the wrong home. So, this is what we know about Titan.... He was born 5/30/26, he came into the other rescue with his littermates at 4 weeks old and got adopted out at 9 weeks old. They had him listed as a coonhound. We did a DNA, Please view for complete list of the mix he is. He is super smart and has learned that nipping and jumping is not an acceptable behavior. He is too rough in play for cats or small breed dogs. He is a big boy and still growing. He listens well and wants to please, just needs structure and routine. He is neutered, microchipped, has age-appropriate vaccinations and on monthly heartworm/flea/tick prevention. She came in last November due to whelp pups at any time. She was a livestock guardian dog and her family loved her, so no negative comments. She lived on their farm with the male dog and took care of the livestock, especially their goats. They never intended for her to have to find another home, but one of the family members became ill. When she came in she was very fearful and very intimidating to my volunteers. We took it slow with her and I figured she would just end up living her life with me. But with time she has become the favorite and is making great progress in preparing for a new home. Sugar is a 2 yrs old purebred Great Pyrenees. She grew up around all types of farm animals and although would no doubt adjust to house life I think would love to find a family that has some farm animals and allows her to go to the barn when they are doing chores. She needs a fenced yard (no exceptions). This girl loves to lay out in the yard and just watch the world go by. She is very intelligent and just needs a family to give her time to settle in and you will see her personality come out. Her adoption fee is $400. All of her vetcare is current. I have had Topato since she was a puppy she was born on a porch in the middle of winter and needed a home. We’ve moved through multiple states (so she’s great in cars) and I think that stress has finally caught up with her and the apartment life just isn’t for her. In the past we have had huge yards and now that we don’t have one I think she is unhappy. So that’s definitely something I’m looking for in her new home. I am constantly busy with work and can’t give her the attention she deserves. Shes 6 years old (bday nov 20) so smart, loves food, and loves to cuddle. Her favorite trick is to spin. She loves the outdoors. She was raised with other dogs but she hasn’t been around any in awhile so unsure of how she would do freshly introduced. She’s great with cats doesn’t bother them if they want nothing to do with her and doesn’t mind if they wanna cuddle. Zero experience being around children. She’s a sweety pie just a little anxious at times.
