"Don't let the name fool you—Rowdy is anything but! This handsome black greyhound raced as Doonooch Dancer, and while he may have danced around the racetrack, these days he'd much rather dance his way into your heart.
Born on December 27, 2021, Rowdy is approaching his fifth birthday and is ready to celebrate it with a family of his very own.
Rowdy is a confident, friendly boy who takes life's adventures in stride. He walks beautifully on a loose lead with relaxed, wiggly movements, making strolls together an absolute pleasure. Whether he's exploring a new park, a new neighborhood, or your backyard, his curiosity shines through as he happily investigates everything around him.
Meeting new people? That's one of Rowdy's favorite activities! He approaches everyone with soft, welcoming body language and an easygoing personality that makes fast friends wherever he goes.
One thing you'll quickly discover about Rowdy is that he's a bit of a foodie. During his assessment, he was completely fascinated by the handler's treat pouch and eagerly hoped a snack might be coming his way. (Honestly, can you blame him?) When tested for resource guarding, he happily enjoyed his meal, briefly paused when approached, and then calmly returned to eating—showing no concerning behaviors.
Rowdy is also wonderfully social with other dogs and gets along well with dogs of all sizes, making him an excellent companion for multi-dog households.
When introduced to a cat, Rowdy noticed it, perked up his ears, and watched quietly before choosing to move away on his own. His response suggests that, with patient introductions and positive training, he could become cat workable in the right home.
Rowdy is one of those greyhounds who seems to take life exactly as it comes—with curiosity, confidence, and a wagging tail. He's affectionate without being demanding, adventurous without being overwhelming, and always ready to see what the next walk, treat, or cuddle has in store.
