Story
Please contact Melissa A Aten (melissaa@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet little guy ISO his family ASHER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name: Asher         Best Guess for Breed: Beagle Mix   Best Guess for Age:  8 months as of December 2023            SEX:  Male   Estimated Weight:  19 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids, but he can be tested!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Asher is Looking For:   Hi! I'm Asher. I'm afraid I've had a bit of a rough couple of days. I was hit by a car and that mean car broke two of my legs! Thankfully, someone brought me to Lucky Dog, and they promised to fix me right up. I'm going to need some time to recover, but I should be back to my hound dog self in no time! Once that happens, I'm going to want what any hound dog walks---lots of times outside to smell this beautifully smelly world and lots of time to play with other pups. I should probably take a training class or two so I remember to use my smart houndy brain for good. Oh, and while my legs are recovering, I'm going to need lots of treats and belly rubs. What do you say? Do you want to be my happily forever after? What My Foster Says About Me: Asher is doing great since he had surgery in early January to repair two of his legs that were injured after a car hit him. He loves to go on walks and make new friends with the dogs and people he meets along the way. He enjoys eating meals from his Kong and his Kong wobbler. He has learned to sit on command and loves to snuggle with his humans.  He is still on crate rest while he recovers, but he enjoys sleeping through the night and taking  naps there. He is great at going straight from  his crate to the outside to use the bathroom. Asher is so excited to find his forever home where he can be an energetic and loving pup with his new family.  TO ADOPT:  The adoption fee for this puppy is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Please contact Sarah Maraschky (sarahm@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.CAN be fed after midnight! GIZMO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Gizmo        Best Guess for Breed:  Basset hound and terrier mix Best Guess for Age:  2 years as of November 2023        SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:   35 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! Gizmo lives with cats in his foster home and is doing great with them. Due to his shy personality, he may not go to a home with children under the age of 12.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.  Special adoption considerations: Because Gizmo is shy, he needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to his shy personality, we do not recommend him for a home with children under the age of 12.   Gizmo is Looking For:  His forever home! Gizmo is so sweet and - just look at those short and stubby legs - he is incredibly cute! He would love to trot through the world with confidence, enjoying all the adventures his new humans can dream up! To get there, he needs extra patient and loving adopters who understand he has not gotten enough experience in new places yet, and a welcoming resident dog who can show him how to dog. Obedience school will help build his braves as well.  Gizmo most of all wants to know he is safe and loved and under his own roof for all his days. He has so much love and loyal companionship to offer in exchange. Best of all - he CAN be bathed and CAN be fed after midnight. What do you say? Does this sweet shy boy get his fresh start with you? What My Foster Says About Me: Gizmois very mellow, likes to run in the yard (AND MAN IS HE FAST), roll on his bed, he has the most HYSTERICAL little strut. He's doing very well. He had few accidents in the crate the first day which have been sorted out, and we have been accident free since. He did chew up one of the cats' favorite toys but you win some, you lose some. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
