APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. FRISKIE is a beautiful black & tan female puppy… possibly a black & tan Hound or Shepherd of some type. DOB 1/10/2024. We don’t know any of her history. She and her sister were found alongside the road in the country. Both pups are very friendly…and FRISKIE was the one that made it easy to catch them. She was the first to say hello and her sister followed her. FRISKIE is a leader. She has learned quickly that it’s a lot of fun to jump into the person’s lap and go for face licks. She will be a medium-sized dog when grown… possibly 45-55#s. She will probably be great with a family with kids…or someone who wants to do a lot of activity such as hiking, boating, etc. FRISKIE is a keeper. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
URGENT Foster mother has medical issues, and he must be moved asap! Let me introduce Ralphie! This awesome guy was abandoned in the woods when he was still a puppy – left to die young, scared and alone in the middle of nowhere. He is extremely sweet. Very friendly, never meets a stranger and loves absolutely everyone he meets. He still has a puppy spirit and needs activity & exercise - playtime is also high on his wish list! He would be great for an active family that hikes or runs, as long as there is cuddles and belly rubs too. His leash walking is coming along well but he does need a firm hand. Like others of his breed, he can be quite vocal. He gets along well with other dogs if he is properly introduced and has time to warm up to them. He has been hunted and showed promise but has not really been trained to hunt. He will be much happier as a loving family companion.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/oscar/ Hello. I am Oscar. No, I do not have a hot dog named after me. No, I'm not a grouch from Sesame Street (although I do have my moments), and I'm not the messy Oscar from the Odd Couple. I am Oscar the hound. A redbone coonhound to be precise. Since I am a hound, my nose leads the way on long walks. I am great with other dogs. I especially love to relax outdoors in the sun and I am house trained. I also know basic commands and take treats well. I love car rides! While I am primarily good-natured, I can be protective of food, toys, and objects that I think are mine. I would do best in a home with no children and a strong experienced owner. A few other things about me. I do the "Oscar dance to make a pitch for some yummy treats. Also, I always, always have a smile on my face. I love low-key living and know a great home is out there for me. Come and visit to see my Oscar dance, and let's get to know each other! If you have the experience and are looking for a dog to hang out on the back porch and bath in the sun. I am the Oscar for you.

Story
We saw sweet Ginny on Facebook. She was a stray that ended up in a high kill shelter in Virginia. Shortly after she arrived she gave birth to 4 puppies. The shelter had no idea that she was pregnant because she was nothing but skin and bones. We knew we somehow had to get her here to Tennessee so we put our thinking caps on and a lot of wonderful volunteers drove her to our pick up spot in southern VA where our regular transporter picked her and the babies up on his way back to Nashville. We met them in Nashville at 1 AM and drove the family 100 miles back to the rescue. We knew Ginny was young, possibly still a pup herself and our vet confirmed that she was only 11 months at the time of the puppy's birth. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Ginny's turn! Walker Hounds are very high energy dogs and can be a little stubborn so make sure you research the breed before you make the choice to adopt. We insist on a fenced yard for her so she can have room to free run and enjoy the rest of her life. These dogs are the number one dumped off breed as their owners will desert them if they don't hunt the way they want them too! We have several of them here at the rescue for that very reason. They are fun loving couch potatoes and will bring you many years of joy and happiness! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $650

Story
My name is Winnie and I am a loving 7 year old, 50 pound girl that is a beautiful Hound breed called a Tree Walker.   I was found as a stray in the middle of a rural highway and I am such a soft and gentle girl that loves to lay around and sleep and just be an easy couch potato friend. I am housebroken, love a good tummy rub, pretty nice to all other dogs that I meet and I would be a great companion to a senior, retired person or couple who are looking for an easy dog to love.  I am healthy and spayed and microchipped and I am told that I am pretty, too.  Would you like to have a sweet companion for the next 7-8 years.  I will be happy to make your life so much more special if you invite me home.  Critter Cavalry Rescue is ready to help you adopt me if you write to them at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 28, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
Sweet Lynda Layne was found in a cornfield eating rotten moldy corn from the ground. She was nothing more than a skeleton with skin. She weighed 31 pounds, now she weighs 50 pounds! We have before pics upon request. She was depressed, starving and defeated, dumped by her owner, as is very common in the south. When a hound dog doesn't hunt the way their owner wants them to, they take them for "the ride". Lynda was one of the lucky ones, she was found by a wonderful lady who took her home and then posted her on Facebook. Of course the owner never came so we took her into the rescue. The first night she was here, she never left my side. She even went potty on the pee pads! She has never had an accident in the house and sleeps by my side every night. You won't find a sweeter more loving dog than Lynda! She is young and healthy. Crate trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated and heart worm negative. She desperately needs a loving home. Could that be you? PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE: $500
