Story
My Mom was really, really, really big into dog rescue and helping at the shelters. I meant the absolute world to her. She is in heaven now, but had asked this Foster mom to do the huge last request of finding me a new home to live out my senior years. I am a big lovable load, around 80 pounds. I love going in the car and I don’t mind some short walks and I walk very loose leash. I prefer to be with somebody rather than left alone all day while you’re at work, but I do just fine when you have to go out and run errands and are gone for a few hours. I get along fine with other dogs and I used to live with a cat, but I have also been known to chase the neighbor’s cat. I am nine years old, and I have a couple lumpy, bumpy fatty growths. The vet has looked at everything and does not have any worries about it being more than fatty tumors. I sure would love a comfortable home with some good couch time and adventure movies to watch. I am a pretty easy addition, and I know my mom would be forever grateful. If you would like an adoption application, please contact my Foster mom at irondawgs13@gmail.com

To learn more about Meg, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Meg will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Say hello to Meg, the sweet sniffer with a heart of gold! Meg is a 4-year-old black and tan coonhound mix with the classic hound charm and the gentlest soul. Found as a stray, she’s a sweet and friendly girl who greets everyone with happy tail wags, even if she’s still a little nervous and unsure at first. True to her hound roots, Meg loves to follow her nose wherever it leads, taking in all the wonderful smells the world has to offer. She’s generally easy to walk on leash, perfectly fine passing other dogs, and gets more comfortable and confident the longer she’s with you. Meg is still working on gaining a little weight, building up her confidence, and learning basic commands, but she’s already showing what a loving companion she’ll be. Once she settles in, this girl’s soft eyes and gentle nature will win your heart completely. If you’re a true hound lover, then Meg is the girl for you! She’s a diamond in the rough who’s just ready to shine and sniff out her forever home!

Then RJ is your guy!     This young Black and Tan Coonhound mix wandered onto a property in Georgia one day, politely introduced himself, and has been charming everyone ever since. Sadly, no one came to claim this gentleman, so K-9 Lifesavers has stepped in to help find this handsome fella a forever home of his own. RJ is ready to trade “stray life” for “spoiled family dog” status. RJ is housebroken and we're told he just loves kids. He’s equal parts adventure buddy and nap-time enthusiast—basically, he’s your new best friend with a hound dog heart. Unfortunately, this big handsome fella is heartworm positive, but with treatment provided by K-9 Lifesavers, he'll be feeling fine in no time.     If you’re ready for long walks, loud snores, and lots of unconditional love, apply today and meet RJ before someone else snatches up this Southern charmer! To learn more about heartworm please visit: https://www.webmd.com/pets/dogs/features/heartworms-in-dogs-facts-and-mythsYour new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. https://foha.org/pet/oscar/ Hello. I am Oscar. No, I do not have a hot dog named after me. No, I'm not a grouch from Sesame Street (although I do have my moments), and I'm not the messy Oscar from the Odd Couple. I am Oscar the hound. A redbone coonhound to be precise. Since I am a hound, my nose leads the way on long walks. I am great with other dogs. I especially love to relax outdoors in the sun and I am house trained. I also know basic commands and take treats well. I love car rides! While I am primarily good-natured, I can be protective of food, toys, and objects that I think are mine. I would do best in a home with no children and a strong experienced owner. A few other things about me. I do the "Oscar dance to make a pitch for some yummy treats. Also, I always, always have a smile on my face. I love low-key living and know a great home is out there for me. Come and visit to see my Oscar dance, and let's get to know each other! If you have the experience and are looking for a dog to hang out on the back porch and bath in the sun. I am the Oscar for you.

Story
If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treewalker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Above all else, Kahlua is drawn to people who make him feel loved—give him attention and he’ll give you his whole heart. He does get springtime seasonal allergies, so starting Apoquel in February or early March keeps him feeling his best. It’s a simple bit of care for a dog who gives so much sweetness in return. Kahlua’s former mama adored him deeply but faced life changes that made caring for him impossible. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can spend his years surrounded by stability, love, comfort, and a family who appreciates everything he has to offer. Kahlua is ready to be someone’s best friend. If you want a loyal companion with an old soul and endless love to share, come meet this wonderful boy.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in giving this boy the years of his life as your best sidekick ever   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 22, 2025, 9:52 pm

Story
Inca is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS ABOUT ME: There is nothing Inca loves more than humans and thrives on human connection - she will greet everyone with her wagging tail and endearing looks. A true social butterfly, Inca is a favorite during walks, where she gladly accepts all the pets and praises showered upon her. She loves to spend her days going on long walks in the park, playing tug-of-war, looking out the window, and snoozing at home. She is an independent girl and will do well alone - some quality time outdoors with her people is all she needs to keep her happy. While Inca is generally great on her walks, she is learning to 'look at me' to help with her fear of big trucks. She has fairly good recall (though sometimes she cannot resist reaching the nearest human for pets) and is starting to get comfortable with being off leash outside so she can do what she loves the most - run free and play tag with her human in the park. Inca has been known to do fairly well in a crate in the past, but she is the best-behaved girl when left on her own, and will easily relax in her favorite spots at home. Though she loves to say hello and play with most dogs she meets, she is still learning to share and can get easily overwhelmed, and may be best suited as the only dog at home. Inca has spent her time in different homes, but she is a resilient girl - she is looking for a patient, forever home with people who can understand her sensitivities and give her the comfort she is craving for. ATTRIBUTES: Inca should not be placed in a home with children, but does well with children outside of the home. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. We strive to provide accurate information on all of our animals however, we are unable to guarantee an animal's breed, size, health, behavior, temperament, or any other conditions. Our adoption fees are not inclusive of all vetting / medical care, food, supplies and/or training costs. Since we rely on donations to compensate for those deficits we are unable to reduce or refund this fee. TO ADOPT OR FOSTER: Please apply on our website at www.lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org or email info@lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org if you have questions! TO DONATE: Please consider making a donation on our website at www.lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org so that Laila's Legacy can continue to provide lifesaving medical treatment and training.

Story
*Woof* Meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW between 12pm-7pm daily!BAAA-ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Did you hear that sound? That`s Milo the Bloodhound doing what Bloodhounds do best. These guys could win a Grammy for their vocal skills. But good boy Milo plans to sing love songs in hopes of being adopted. Milo is 104 pounds of sniffing curiosity. He is a sweet fella with a big agenda. Bloodhounds are a very active breed and love to go on sniffy adventures. If you like a frisky, get-up and go dog, Milo is your man. We recommend doing breed research if you are interested in this sweetheart. Milo is really a very nice dog and he would love to meet- and sniff- you.A volunteer who recently spent time with him had this to share: What a sweet, gentle giant! Milo loves to go on a leisurely walk to sniff around. He is also great about checking in with his human for reassurance on walks. Adorable Milo is a total sweetheart.
