Story
WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🎀✨ Meet Cindy Lou — Your Future Walking, Wagging Tail Bundle of Joy ✨🎀 At just a year old, Cindy Lou is already proving she’s less “puppy” and more full-blown heart thief. With her stunning reddish and black coat, bright amber eyes, and joyful spirit, she looks very much like a Harrier/German Shepherd mix. What that really means? Brains, beauty, loyalty, and just the right dash of playful sass. Cindy Lou is sweet, affectionate, playful, and delightfully goofy — the total package. She adores her people (big and small), though she’s still mastering the fine art of containing her enthusiasm when love is involved. Because she’s young and energetic, a home with older kids would be ideal — especially the kind who want a backyard buddy to chase, run, and burn off zoomies with. And speaking of zoomies… Cindy Lou absolutely loves Glacier and would thrive with a canine sibling. She would do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog to wrestle, romp, and share adventures with. She’s happiest when she has both her humans and a four-legged best friend by her side. Outdoorsy? Even just a little? Cindy Lou is ready. She’s got that “Where are we going next?” energy wrapped in curiosity and confidence. Ranch walks? Check. Trails? Absolutely. Puddle splashing like it’s an Olympic sport? Gold medalist. Off leash, she checks in beautifully — loyal and tuned in, like she genuinely wants to be part of your team. After spending far too much of her young life in rescue, Cindy Lou is more than ready for the good stuff: A home. A routine. A snack schedule she can rely on. A couch she can dramatically flop onto after a hard day of being adorable. 🌟 Cindy Lou’s Highlights: • 1 year old (DOB 2/24/25) • 60 lbs • Gorgeous Harrier/German Shepherd mix • Great with people & other dogs • Would do best with a canine sibling • Likely best with older kids due to playful energy • Smart, social, affectionate (Velcro level: elite) • Adventure buddy by day, champion snuggler by night If you’re looking for a loyal, lively, backyard-chasing, dog-loving best friend who will fill your days with laughter and your home with joy, Cindy Lou is ready to prance straight into your heart. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — Cindy Lou is ready to start her forever story with you. 🐾💖

Bellamy #975 Age: 7.5 years old Color & Breed: Tricolor Basset Gender: Neutered Male Weight: 60 pounds Bellamy and Cornelius are a bonded pair of basset males that came to MNBR when their family could no longer afford their medical care or basic necessities. Cornelius was in urgent need of bladder stone removal surgery and Bellamy needed a dental and has a leg that’s been swollen for months. Both boys were seen at our vet on 1/28 and got everything they needed. Nelly had one large, one medium, and several small stones removed from his bladder. He will need to be on a prescription diet going forward and should be checked regularly for stones. Belly was diagnosed with a hygroma which is more annoying than anything else and will hopefully subside with time. For more information on adopting with MNBR visit https://www.mnbassetrescue.com/adoption MNBR adopts locally as much as possible so we can properly support our foster dogs and adopters if the need arises. We accept applications from within the following areas: all of Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin and other applicants within a 8 hour radius of our headquarters in St. Paul, MN. As an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue we welcome anyone who loves dogs and wishes to help hounds live a healthy and happy life. Story
vanilla #927 Age: 5 years old Color & Breed: Tricolor Basset Gender: Spayed Female Weight: 37 pounds Requires: Fenced yard and confident companion dog There’s absolutely nothing plain about Vanilla #927! This 5-year-old tricolor basset is looking for her forever home with someone who appreciates her sweet demeanor. Plot twist, she actually prefers spray cheese from a can to ice cream cones. Who knew? ‘Nilla feels safest when wrapped in a blanket (because nothing scary could be under a blanket.) If she can be joined by a bunch of stuffed animals, all the better. Because she’s still shy, a home with a fenced-in yard and lots of patience is needed. She's mostly potty trained, although sometimes things are just...scary. Vanilla doesn’t need other dogs for comfort but does like to hide behind them when she’s scared (because she knows that having a slower friend means the T-rex will get them first.) Vanilla is still learning how to relax and trust. With time (and enough cheese), she’ll learn how to be the best companion basset the world has ever seen. Add some Vanilla to your house!
