Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 12/7/24 to NorCal and OR. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Sadie to our trip for the right home 💙 Meet our beautiful girl Sadie 💕She is a havanese/yorkie mix and a beautiful one at that 🥰She turns 2 on December 24th 2024. (Yes, Christmas Eve baby 🙂.) She weighs 12.74 lbs. Yes, she is full grown and at a very healthy weight. She is spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccines, had both ears examined ( our vet removed the hair from both ears, but aside from that they were in great health,) and had a wonderful overall exam with our vet whom has cleared her to find a home all her own ☺️ She is house trained and goes outside to use the restroom as needed throughout the day. She is very good about not using the restroom in the house, and will patiently wait at the door for you to let her out if you don't ask her first. She is crate trained, and currently sleeps in her crate at night. She does very well in the crate and never fusses when in there. She is highly adaptable and won't have any issues if you feel the need to change her sleeping arrangements and will happily lay on a bed of her own aside yours, or in bed with you if you prefer to have her extra close 🥰 She is leash trained, and loves her walks around the neighborhood so if you love a good stroll she will happily accompany you every single time with a wagging tail and kisses thanking you for including her in your adventures ☺️ She is wonderful with other dogs and cats alike, but is truly a wonderful companion to humans and doesn't need another animal to be happy in her next home. She is content being the only pet, and is happy to be your sole friend 💕 She is a SWEET girl. LOVES to be cuddled. She will nap in your lap, or near by in her bed or crate while you are busy tending to your day. She is NOT high maintenance whatsoever and is very easy to please. She will occasionally get up to see where you are in the house only to go lay back down and continue her nap peacefully. She is NOT a barker, and is very quiet all around. She is serene tempered, kind hearted, and compassionate at heart ❤️ She is phenomenal on road trips whether short or long. She is in it for the long haul no matter where the road takes you! She is wonderful with our groomers, and enjoys her spa days 🙂 She LOVES everyone. Men, women, and children alike. She is affectionate, and will have no problem filling your heart and home with a love all her own! Her prior owner passed away, and was left to her best friend to care for her in the event of her passing but unfortunately she ended up in a memory care facility and couldn't take care of her long term the way she deserved. She didn't want to let her best friend down, and didn't know which way to turn in doing what was best for Sadie until she was placed in contact with us here from her trusted veterinarian. We promised to find her the next best human to call her own and ensured her Sadie would find her happy place again ♥️ Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/sadie It covers all of her vet costs, the care associated in the time she was with us here, her grooming costs, and the training we have personally done with her ❤️ Travel costs are in addition to her adoption fee pending where you are located and if you need us to come to you (which we will happily do ☺️)

Story
Marcie is about 12 weeks old and currently weighs about 3 pounds, with an expected adult size of about 7 pounds. Extremely tiny and fragile. Her coat looks Havanese, straight white with some black spots, long and soft. She was matted and has been shaved down, but she still has hair on her head and will be absolutely gorgeous when her hair grows out. She is adorable! Marcie is sight-impaired. Both eyes cloudy, but one eye is clearer than the other. She has some vision now, but may eventually be blind. She needs to see a veterinary ophthalmologist for an assessment. She's just a baby and is very dependent on her human. She is most comfortable and relaxed when being held but will stay in her crate without complaining. She uses potty pads currently in a large, corralled area which is attached to a large, covered crate with bedding. We also take her out to potty regularly so she can learn to potty outside, but she is a puppy, and a bit young yet to expect potty training success. We have a heated pad we turn on at night to keep her warm. She is so fragile and, without any hair currently, she gets cold easily. We put t-shirts on her to keep her warm, but she seems to slither out of them because she is so small. Because of her size she is fearful of many dogs, especially those larger than her (which is pretty much all of them), however she is playing nicely with another puppy here at the moment. She has not been tested around cats. Marcie will require focused attention in her new home since she is a baby and so fragile. This could be a great match for a therapy situation, or a home-bound or handicapped person who wants the companionship of a gentle lap dog. She may be problematic for seniors as she tends to go towards their feet to be picked up and, since she is so tiny and vision-impaired, she could be stepped on or tripped over. For these reasons, we also do not recommend a home with young children. Marcie is not yet spayed, and her adopter will be contractually responsible for her spay when she is old enough. Only applicants within driving distance from Roseville will be considered. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Marcie, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Please go to our website; www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on "Adopt" which will take you to our online application form.

Story
Dominic is a wonderful companion! With his energetic personality and affectionate nature, he seems like he would bring so much joy to the right family. Dominic is a young, handsome, 1-year-old pup weighing 16 pounds, making him a manageable size. His love for people and constant tail wagging highlights his friendly disposition. Dominic needs an active family that can keep up with his energy levels. Regular walks and playtime will be essential for his happiness. While he may need some potty training, keeping him on a consistent schedule will help him adapt quickly. His progress with the doggie door is a good sign! A secure yard is a must due to his impressive climbing abilities. Potential adopters should be prepared to provide a safe environment for him to explore and to take him to obedience training. As a Lhasa Apso/Poodle mix, Dominic will require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and looking great. He is scheduled to be neutered and is already microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Dominic would thrive in a loving home, where he can be the center of attention and have plenty of opportunities for adventure. Anyone interested in adopting him would be gaining a loyal companion who's ready to bring happiness into their lives!
