Lenox is a 1-year-old, 20-pound Havanese mix with a gentle, sweet personality. He came from a shut down warehouse in Bakersfield where dogs people would often come by to dump dogs. The man there provided kennels and dog houses and did his best to care for them, but he is now being removed from the property. We are helping rehome several of the dogs from there, including sweet Lenox who had shown up there as a stray not too long ago. Lenox is very sweet, gets along well with other dogs, and loves kids. He’s doing great with potty training and isn’t a jumper. As he continues to settle into his foster home, we’re getting to see more of his personality each day. He’s playful, affectionate, and quite the snuggle bug, and we can’t wait for him to find a forever home where he can really shine. ----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Step 1) Application Step 2) Phone Interview Step 3) Appointment Shelter Hope is operating by appointment only. 📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. --------- Meet Wooyeon, (Female, approx. 3 years old) * Havanese or Maltese mix (estimated) * Weight: 11.6 kg (full-grown) *Spayed: Yes * Pregnancy History: None * Medical History: Previously treated for Babesia and heartworm. Treatment completed. *Rescue Story Wooyeon was found wandering the streets by two sisters, who brought her to a veterinary clinic. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with Babesia and heartworm. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of treatment, the original sisters left her at the hospital and could not continue her care. She was later transferred to a nearby private shelter, where she received full treatment and recovery support. Since then, she has been living at the shelter and is now healthy and ready to find her forever home. - Compatibility With Cats: She has briefly encountered cats at the veterinary hospital and showed no strong reaction. She was not particularly interested. With Other Dogs: She gets along very well with all other dogs and can be adopted into a multi-dog household. With Adults and Children: Very friendly and affectionate with both adults and children. Personality & Behavior Leash Manners: Very good on walks. Food Allergies / Diet: No known food allergies. She has mild tear staining, so allergies are suspected but have not been tested. She is not a picky eater. House Training: Prefers outdoor elimination. Separation Anxiety: None observed. Barking: No excessive barking. She may bark when excited or greeting people. Likes & Dislikes: She deeply loves people and craves human affection. Three Words to Describe Her Affectionate. Energetic. At an estimated two years old, these gentle boys are understandably a little unsure as they adjust to so much change — but their loving, affectionate nature shines through more each day. True to their Havanese roots, both Benny and Theo are people-oriented, gentle, and eager to bond. They enjoy affection, love being near their humans, and get along beautifully with other dogs. They especially find comfort and confidence in canine companionship and would thrive in a home with another friendly pup. With their soulful eyes, soft scruffy coats, and tender hearts, they are incredibly charming little companions. This precious 4-year-old Havanese/Poodle mix has the gentlest, calmest soul. Ellie is incredibly sweet, loves to “dance” when she’s happy, and greets other dogs with such respect and kindness. She gets along wonderfully with her furry friends and truly brings a sense of peace and joy wherever she goes. Ellie is fully vetted, dewormed, up to date on all vaccinations, and spayed. Because we noticed something wasn’t quite right with her eyes, we took her to see a veterinary ophthalmologist. We learned that she likely suffered from severe eye infections in the past. As a result, Ellie is blind in her left eye and has some peripheral vision loss in her right. The good news is she can still see well from her right eye, and there is no further treatment needed beyond keeping her eyes clean and using lubricating drops once a day. Honestly, watching Ellie, you would never know she has any vision loss. She moves around confidently and happily, soaking up love and giving it right back. This precious girl is absolutely ready to settle into a safe, loving home. It would be such a blessing for someone to open their heart and home to Ellie. After her journey from Mexico City to San Diego, she so deserves a life filled with comfort, security, and unconditional love.
