Lenox is a 1-year-old, 20-pound Havanese mix with a gentle, sweet personality. He came from a shut down warehouse in Bakersfield where dogs people would often come by to dump dogs. The man there provided kennels and dog houses and did his best to care for them, but he is now being removed from the property. We are helping rehome several of the dogs from there, including sweet Lenox who had shown up there as a stray not too long ago. Lenox is very sweet, gets along well with other dogs, and loves kids. He’s doing great with potty training and isn’t a jumper. As he continues to settle into his foster home, we’re getting to see more of his personality each day. He’s playful, affectionate, and quite the snuggle bug, and we can’t wait for him to find a forever home where he can really shine. ----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. --------- Meet Wooyeon, (Female, approx. 3 years old) * Havanese or Maltese mix (estimated) * Weight: 11.6 kg (full-grown) *Spayed: Yes * Pregnancy History: None * Medical History: Previously treated for Babesia and heartworm. Treatment completed. *Rescue Story Wooyeon was found wandering the streets by two sisters, who brought her to a veterinary clinic. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with Babesia and heartworm. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of treatment, the original sisters left her at the hospital and could not continue her care. She was later transferred to a nearby private shelter, where she received full treatment and recovery support. Since then, she has been living at the shelter and is now healthy and ready to find her forever home. - Compatibility With Cats: She has briefly encountered cats at the veterinary hospital and showed no strong reaction. She was not particularly interested. With Other Dogs: She gets along very well with all other dogs and can be adopted into a multi-dog household. With Adults and Children: Very friendly and affectionate with both adults and children. Personality & Behavior Leash Manners: Very good on walks. Food Allergies / Diet: No known food allergies. She has mild tear staining, so allergies are suspected but have not been tested. She is not a picky eater. House Training: Prefers outdoor elimination. Separation Anxiety: None observed. Adoption fee: $750 If you’re looking for a dog who will absolutely bamboozle you… it will be with charm, cuddles, and those irresistible Havanese eyes. Bamboozle is a 1–2 year old, 23-pound Havanese mix with a soft, non-shedding coat and a personality that is pure sunshine. He was rescued from the shelter alongside his sister, Hoodwink, and while his name may suggest mischief, the only trick he’s running is convincing you that you never needed personal space in the first place! From the moment he arrived in his foster home, Bamboozle showed himself to be a happy-go-lucky, friendly boy. He warmed up quickly and has only grown more affectionate and devoted as he’s settled in. He is what we lovingly call a “velcro dog” — he follows his foster from room to room, happily supervising daily activities and making sure he doesn’t miss a single opportunity for connection. If you sit down, he’s nearby. If you move, he moves. If you’re wondering whether you’re alone… you’re not. Bamboozle splits his downtime between the bed and the couch, and at night he sleeps right in bed, content and cozy. During the day, he rotates around the apartment depending on where his person is, always choosing proximity over privacy. He’s very people-oriented and thrives on companionship. His daily routine currently includes three walks — one in the morning around 7–8am, another in the afternoon between 3–6pm, and a final stroll before bedtime. He eats around 9am and again around 7pm (though he’s flexible if dinner runs a little earlier or later). On leash, he is a total gentleman: no pulling, no lunging, no squirrel obsession. When he encounters other dogs, he may politely go in for a sniff, and occasionally he can be a bit shy and tuck himself behind his person. That said, he has also enjoyed playful backyard time with friends’ dogs and does well socially overall. In his foster home, he lives with a small 12-pound dog. They occasionally play, but if given the choice, Bamboozle will choose his human every time. He’s playful and energetic, but his favorite activity is still being with his person. He’s friendly with other humans and generally well-adjusted, greeting the world with an upbeat, sweet demeanor. What sets Bamboozle apart is his joyful spirit and genuine affection. He is loving, friendly, playful, and incredibly devoted. He doesn’t just want to be in your home — he wants to be in your orbit. And while his name might imply he’s up to something, the only thing he’s plotting is how to win your heart and secure the coziest spot in your bed.
