Meet Teddy Bear – A Smart, Loving Boy Looking for the Right Match
Teddy Bear is a one-and-a-half-year-old Havanese with a heart full of love and a personality that’s impossible not to adore. He loves nothing more than being close to his people, whether that’s snuggling on the couch, going for a walk, or soaking up belly rubs and scratches behind his ears and shoulders. He has the perfect balance of playful puppy moments and relaxed cuddle time, making him a wonderful companion.
This handsome boy is already house trained and knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, down, up, shake, high five, come, stay, and drop it. He’s eager to please, incredibly intelligent, and enjoys learning—especially when treats are involved. (A little cheese goes a long way with Teddy Bear!)
Teddy Bear is looking for an adopter who understands that he does have some resource-guarding behaviors that will require thoughtful management. He has done very well with positive reinforcement, trading games, and respecting his communication, and he has already shown that he responds wonderfully to these techniques. With an experienced, patient family that understands his needs, Teddy Bear has every opportunity to continue thriving.
Because of this, Teddy Bear would do best in a calm home with children age 13 or older who can understand and respect his boundaries. He would also thrive with adults who are committed to continuing the positive training and management strategies that have already been working so well for him. In the right environment, Teddy Bear has every opportunity to succeed.
Despite this challenge, Teddy Bear is, at his core, an incredibly affectionate dog. He wants to be close to his people, loves being told what a good boy he is, and forms deep bonds with those he trusts. He has lived peacefully around other dogs, though any potential canine companions should be introduced thoughtfully to ensure they’re a good match.
Teddy Bear isn’t looking for a perfect family—he’s looking for the right family. One that sees beyond his challenges and recognizes the loyal, intelligent, loving companion waiting underneath. With understanding, patience, and kindness, Teddy Bear has everything it takes to become someone’s very best friend.
