Trent's foster says that Trent has clearly been through a lot but is showing himself to be incredibly resilient! He gets along super well with the resident dogs! No food or toy aggression and they all really enjoy one another's conpany. Trent (he doesn't know that name) doesn't bark much (or at all yet) nor does he shed. He's also a quick learner and very food motivated (it's clear he's never had the finer things in life-like cheese-so if you adopt him you can give him a whole bunch of firsts). He ascertains commands quickly and is learning to walk on (a tiny) leash. He sleeps through the night without any accidents (or whimpering) and enjoys his crate. He is an extremely curious little guy who would do well in an apartment, condo, townhouse, or single family home and would thrive in a more relaxed environment. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
