Story
Skye 3 month old female, 5-6 pounds Havanese, Poodle? Skye came to us from a local shelter as an owner surrender. If you're looking for a small velcro pup, Skye is your girl. Perfectly content with living in your lap and being carried around, she wants nothing more than to be with her people. She is kid and dog friendly and likely cats as well after proper introductions. She is brand new to our rescue but she is doing great with potty and house training. Skye will be spayed, microchipped, UTD on vaccines and preventatives, and waiting for you for adoption! She will hopefully be getting spayed Tuesday and available after that, weather depending. Please send us a detailed application from www.puppiesareworthsaving.com if you'd like to add her to your family. If spayed Tuesday, adoption WILL be Wednesday, no holds, ans the entire family must be present. Foster location: Havre de Grace, MD

Story
Somebody get me out of this old age home! That’s what Boomer is saying about his stay here. Boomer is a very healthy, playful, and active 11-year-old Havanese/Terrier mix. While the other dogs who live here are happy to nap the day away, Boomer loves to run and go for long walks. He really needs to find a great new home who can give him the time and exercise he would like. He is friendly with other dogs when outside but he can be quite territorial in the house. Therefore, we are looking for a home with no other animals. Boomer came to us after he was surrendered by his owner to the shelter. His owner said he didn’t like children, so adults-only homes please. During Boomer’s behavior test at the shelter, he showed signs of resource guarding for food and toys. We have worked with him on that but his new home must know how to continue this training. We are hoping to find the ideal home for Boomer. We learned that his previous owner was physically and verbally abusive to him. As a result, Boomer can be fearful at times. If he thinks he’s going to be scolded, he retreats to the sofa or a corner. He needs a new home that will be patient and loving with him, as well as knowledgeable on how to deal with his behavior challenges. If any force is used on him, he will try to protect himself. Boomer is smart. He knows how to sit, stay, and come, and also gives kisses on command. He really wants to be a loving, trusting dog. He has come a long way since he arrived here. Are you the new person he is looking for to give him his happy, forever after? Please complete an adoption application found at https://www.flfosenioranimals.org/adoption and note that we only adopt within 40 miles of Baldwin, MD, as we must do in-person home visits.

Remy's Story PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing or "inquiring" is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Remy is 8 years old and is a very friendly guy looking for a loving home. Remy greets everyone with a wagging tail and is always eager to make new friends whether they are people or dogs, making him a wonderful addition to any family. Remy absolutely loves going for walks and would thrive as a hiking partner or daily exercise buddy. He is housetrained and possibly just the perfect dog. A fenced yard would be ideal, as Remy loves to explore and sniff around off leash. He's happiest when he has room to roam safely. Remy is food motivated and enjoys treats, chewies, and veggies, making reward-based training a breeze. A cuddler and a lap dog once he is ready for his nap. Approximately 20 pounds The adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm test if age appropriate and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment

Story
Mochi is a beautiful 1 year and 2 months old, 22 lb male dog. He was abandoned on the streets, where I found him two months ago. I brought him home, updated all of his vaccines, and had him neutered. He has been with me ever since. Mochi is calm, loyal, smart, and house-trained. He can be timid with other dogs at first and will sometimes hide behind me when we encounter them on walks, but he clearly wants to play once he feels safe. With time and positive socialization he will do very well. He has a similar reaction to children who approach him suddenly, so a patient home that understands gentle introductions would be ideal. He enjoys chasing cats, so a cat-free home may be best. Despite his rough start, Mochi has been a wonderful companion - he is affectionate, playful, and deeply bonded to his person. I love Mochi very much, but I travel often and cannot provide the stable home he deserves. What he needs is love and someone who will continue his progress. I truly hope he finds it!

Story
Biscuit and Blizzard came to FARM in need of a new forever home. They are two year old, neutered male, Bichon mix brothers who are looking for a great new home where they can stay together and get lots of love and attention. Biscuit weighs 21 pounds, and Blizzard weighs 16 pounds. They love each other, sleep together, and play well together. Blizzard is more adventurous, and Biscuit is a little more shy. Both will bark when they first meet new people and, in the next hour, they will be your best friends. Blizzard and Biscuit love to be with people, love attention, and love to play together in a secure fenced in yard. They seem very housebroken, but will probably need some assistance when they go to a new home. Although Biscuit and Blizzard would do ok in separate homes (they love other small sociable dogs), we are hoping to find these two brothers a new home together. Meet and greets for approved adopters will be by appointment. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a dog application which can be found at http://fallstonanimalrescue.org/adopt/ and e-mail it to fallstonrescue@aol.com.
We'll also keep you updated on Blizzard's adoption status with email updates.
