Hey there, I'm Cinnamon Sugar, and yes, I am as sweet as the spice. While I am a nice little gal and want your attention, I am shy and take a bit of time to adjust to new people. Since I am timid, I would prefer a quiet and calm household (not in the city) without children. I am a lower energy girl and not a barker. At this time, I am not house or leash trained. I will need a patient adopter ready to work with me. Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee covers; please consider making a tax-deductible donation by visiting us at https://www.hattonanimalrescue.org/sponsor. Donations help us offset vetting, boarding costs, and additional medical treatments for dogs who need it. For more information on Hatton Animal Rescue, visit our website at: hattonanimalrescue.org.

MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Princess, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am scared because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. Story
Meet Remi! Remi is small and wonderfully made. He’s a handsome little Havanese boy with a single lower canine tooth he loves to show off. Sadly, Remi's human passed recently, and he landed at Miri's, looking for a fresh start. As he's gotten more comfortable, his personality has absolutely blossomed. It turns out he loves almost everything - being around his people, napping, playing with toys (dryer balls are a current favorite, octopus is a close second!). He's even able to play fetch with himself, and watching him go you might mistake him for a puppy! He also loves snuggling under blankets, wearing cute jackets, going on walks, and being hand-fed like the prince he is. His favorite place is wherever his people are, but especially if that place includes a warm lap or a spot curled up beside his foster brother. Out on walks, Remi takes his time. He greets the world gently, one sniff, one new friend at a time, and loves going out on adventures. He recently joined his foster family at an outdoor event and was an absolute celebrity. He immediately identified his target audience (children, obviously) and inserted himself gently into their orbit. He accepted their admiration as if it were his civic duty and graciously posed for photos. Nothing rattles this boy. Not crowds, not noise, or even the unpredictable energy of small children. He moves through the world with a steady, easy temperament perfect for a family. At home, he's a perfect gentleman: completely housetrained, amazing on the leash, and fine staying home by himself. He'll whine at the door for a few short minutes and then immediately remember that he has pressing business to get back to (napping). Remi loves going on walks (short or long, he's up for both!). Sometimes you'll even see a little extra spring in his step as he crosses the street! After walks, Remi loves to rub his body and scratch his face on the rug and couch, which is as adorable as it sounds. He's not the biggest fan of car rides, so local outings are best. Remi is a mobile little man but has some trouble seeing, so he needs a helping hand when it comes to stairs. He's happy to be carried like the precious fluffy potato he is. His ideal home is filled with people who are home often, love to snuggle with him, and has lots of soft beds for long naps. Remi is an absolute treasure. Whoever adopts him is going to wonder how they got so lucky. Apply today to meet him! Remi is approximately 12 years old and 15 lbs. Fostered in Baltimore, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
Coco Puff Hello there! My name is Coco Puff, and I am a little female Havanese puppy. Since they don’t know who Dad is, they must call me a mix, but who knows for sure. I was born on 2.12.26, just before Valentines’ Day, but that is sad because I am a pure sweetheart and the day would have been perfect for a birthday! I am scheduled for my spay on April 13th and then will be able to go to my new home. Will it be with you? About my breed: Havanese puppies are small, affectionate, and intelligent "velcro dogs" known for their cheerful, trainable, and playful nature, making them ideal family companions or apartment pets. Originally from Cuba, these 7–13 lb dogs have long, hypoallergenic, and low-shedding coats. They require regular grooming and thrive on companionship, often experiencing separation anxiety if left alone too long. My adoption fee locally is $400 and out of state with transportation is $700.

Story
Somebody get me out of this old age home! That’s what Boomer is saying about his stay here. Boomer is a very healthy, playful, and active 11-year-old Havanese/Terrier mix. While the other dogs who live here are happy to nap the day away, Boomer loves to run and go for long walks. He really needs to find a great new home who can give him the time and exercise he would like. He is friendly with other dogs when outside but he can be quite territorial in the house. Therefore, we are looking for a home with no other animals. Boomer came to us after he was surrendered by his owner to the shelter. His owner said he didn’t like children, so adults-only homes please. During Boomer’s behavior test at the shelter, he showed signs of resource guarding for food and toys. We have worked with him on that but his new home must know how to continue this training. We are hoping to find the ideal home for Boomer. We learned that his previous owner was physically and verbally abusive to him. As a result, Boomer can be fearful at times. If he thinks he’s going to be scolded, he retreats to the sofa or a corner. He needs a new home that will be patient and loving with him, as well as knowledgeable on how to deal with his behavior challenges. If any force is used on him, he will try to protect himself. Boomer is smart. He knows how to sit, stay, and come, and also gives kisses on command. He really wants to be a loving, trusting dog. He has come a long way since he arrived here. Are you the new person he is looking for to give him his happy, forever after? Please complete an adoption application found at https://www.flfosenioranimals.org/adoption and note that we only adopt within 40 miles of Baldwin, MD, as we must do in-person home visits.
