Story
Rio is a sweet and very affectionate 3-year-old (best guess by animal control and vet) Havanese mix who weighs around 11 lbs. He acts younger than that though and loves to be around people. Rio is a smart boy, he’s learning how to sit, stay and shake. He’s very treat and praise motivated. Rio will use puppy pads, but we have not seen him going potty in the house other than a few times when he first got into his foster home. Rio currently sleeps in the bed and has had no accidents overnight when you take him out right before bed. Rio is neutered, fully vetted, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Story
Hi, I'm Max and I hail from Texas. Just to let you know, if you've ever heard the phrase "age is just a number", well, it is definitely true. While I am a senior gentleman, I am definitely medium energy and would enjoy a good long walk or two a day (or a nice yard to play in). I walk well on leash (except when I see another dog, I will pull hard), am housetrained, and don't mind my crate. In general, I am friendly with people once I get to know them, but on my own terms. I am not a fan of cats - I will bark and chase them. Btw, I am not a barker in general and my foster recently discovered that I I really enjoy watching TV! My ideal home would be with people who are willing to understand that I am set in my ways as a senior and want a loyal companion. I am leash reactive to other dogs, but possibly could get along with the right dog match. Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee covers; please consider making a tax-deductible donation by visiting us at https://www.hattonanimalrescue.org/sponsor. Donations help us offset vetting, boarding costs, and additional medical treatments for dogs who need it. For more information on Hatton Animal Rescue, visit our website at: hattonanimalrescue.org.

This handsome little Havanese is on the hunt for a forever home where he can be cherished as the special boy he is. Havanese are beloved for their affectionate, devoted nature, and Trent is ready to bring all that wonderful companionship into your life. Known for being playful, cheerful, social, and smart, these little charmers have a way of making every day brighter. And with a personality like that wrapped up in one adorable, pint-sized package, what's not to love?      Trent's foster says that Trent has clearly been through a lot but is showing himself to be incredibly resilient! He gets along super well with the resident dogs! No food or toy aggression and they all really enjoy one another's conpany. Trent (he doesn't know that name) doesn't bark much (or at all yet) nor does he shed. He's also a quick learner and very food motivated (it's clear he's never had the finer things in life-like cheese-so if you adopt him you can give him a whole bunch of firsts). He ascertains commands quickly and is learning to walk on (a tiny) leash. He sleeps through the night without any accidents (or whimpering) and enjoys his crate. He is an extremely curious little guy who would do well in an apartment, condo, townhouse, or single family home and would thrive in a more relaxed environment.        Apply today and give Trent a chance to show you how good life can be with a best buddy by your side.Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.org.Sponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/.
