'Courtesy' Sweet and loving Husky boy, affectionately referred to as Dimitri is looking for a forever home. This big boy is under one years old and is very energetic and loving. He is currently in a home with a small child and has been observed to do great with the child and other dogs. Dimitri has a calm demeanor indoors with people, but requires lots of stimulation and physical activity as per his breed’s requirements and age. He will do great in a pack, and/or with physically active owner(s). He has not yet been crate trained, and may need to be observed alone as he has been both great alone indoors and at times troublesome. This is all dependent on his mental stimulation and physical activity. It is recommended for first time Husky owners to research the breed as they are very special dogs. Highly intelligent and stubborn but one of the most incredible breeds. Dimitri should be adopted into a family that will nurture him, provide him with a yard and a doggy bed indoors to avoid the Florida heat that can be detrimental on the Husky breed. Dimitri is a chaser so families with cats must be cautious. He is young enough to train and redirect but he will pursue a cat and small animals and insects. It is recommended to ease him in and to dedicate the time needed to redirect that behavior. He does love to play fetch and will fetch balls, sticks and even frisbees. He enjoys running and playing and will adjust well with any dog breed. Because of his size and age it would be best that he be mixed with medium and larger sized dogs to avoid any rough play accidents. He is a useless guard dog (haha) and will only seldomly howl and he will “Husky talk” to you often. Currently Dimitri is unaltered but will be neutered prior to adoption. November 5, 2024, 4:31 pm

She came into rescue with extremely painful glaucoma that caused extreme pressure behind her eyes, so much so that her eye doctor recommended eye removal, since she had not been able to see for quite some time. After double eye removal surgery, Arya is pain free and has an even more sunny outlook on life. Arya is one of the sweetest and most loving dogs you could ever hope to meet. She has a gentle kindness about her and is an extremely easy-going girl. Arya has gotten used to negotiating the world without her vision, and still loves walks, car rides and pup cups. She does everything a dog with its vision can do - she just used her other senses to guide her. Arya is a special soul who exudes love. She is a gem.

Don Danilo is the nicest dog, as natural result of his breed he’s protecting with his owner and very loyal, he gets fine with kids but he’s not the type of dog that wants to be petted by a stranger or all of the time. He usually spends his days chilling, sleeping, and playing with his toys, he loves treats and most of all he enjoys being able to have his personal space but always likes to be next to his human. He’s about to turn 4 years old this August, we had to perform a hip surgery because when he was little he was diagnosed with hip displasia which led him into surgery, but now he is very healthy. One important thing is that he doesn’t like to be touched in the hip area, not because he’s in pain, it’s a natural behavior he got after that long and painful recovery
