Story
Sadie here! I`m quite the happy-go-lucky gal. I love just about everything I come across, toys, blankets, people, cuddles, tutus, you name it! I tend to dislike cats (they`re just so small!) but I like other pups, especially when we get to play together outside. I`m looking to find a family who likes to be on the go, a life full of fun and adventures. I would probaby do better with a life with no small kiddos, but I can be BFFs with some teenagers! Thanks for checking in! Due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic, our offices are operating differently than normal. Please read below for more information:Adoptions:We are open by *scheduled appointment only*. Adoptable pets can be viewed online at www.petharbor.com. Masks are required to enter the building. Please allow 2-3 additional days to process your application due to limited staff.Missing Pet:If your family is missing a pet, please visit www.petharbor.com to view the impounded animal`s descriptions and photos to confirm if your pet is at the shelter. Story
Name: Kaylee Ann Age: 3 years Breed: Siberian Husky mix Size: 44.3 Special Needs: Heartworm positive Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Meet Kaylee Ann! The perfect combination of grace, calm, and a heart full of love! Kaylee Ann is a beautiful 3-year-old Siberian Husky mix who arrived at HSSM on November 12th, 2025, after being found as a stray in Biloxi by animal control. Since her arrival, she has completely stolen the hearts of staff and volunteers alike with her gentle soul, calm nature, and wonderfully well-rounded manners. Kaylee walks on her leash like an absolute lady—graceful, confident, and just a touch sassy with every step. Her calm, cool demeanor makes her a fantastic family dog, especially for those looking for a companion who brings peace and warmth into the home. She loves spending time in the yard soaking up sunshine and fresh air, and she’s happiest when she’s close to her people. Bonus: her kisses are truly top tier. While Kaylee Ann enjoys companionship, she’s also content entertaining herself when needed, making her a great match for households with busy days but loving evenings. She would thrive in a calmer home where she can relax with her favorite humans, though she’s always up for the occasional new adventure. Kaylee is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. She has tested positive for heartworms, but don't let that stop you from giving Kaylee the care she needs to live a long, healthy life. If you’re searching for a loyal, loving companion with a peaceful presence and a heart of gold, Kaylee Ann may be the one you’ve been waiting for. Kaylee Ann's $300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports! --> If you are interested in adopting Kaylee Ann please fill out our online application here: (https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 - Dog). A staff member will reach out if your application is approved to discuss the adoption process. No fenced in yard required, and YES - we adopt to families with children! The adoption will not be final until the adoption contract is discussed and signed. Transports are arranged for specific dates, typically within 1-3 weeks of approving your application. Adopters will meet at a designated meeting spot to pick up their new companions. For further information, please first fill out the application referenced above. **Due to import regulations we are not able to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time.

Story
Meet Togo — a quiet little shadow with a soft heart and a story still unfolding. At 2 years old and about 33.5 pounds, Togo is another “mini Husky” who carries all the beauty and spirit of the breed in a smaller, more delicate frame. But unlike the bold, boisterous stereotype, Togo is a gentle observer — the kind of dog who watches the world from a safe distance before deciding it’s worth stepping into. Togo is very shy and still learning that people can be kind and safe. He won’t rush up to greet you — instead, he might sneak in for a quick sniff or a soft little kiss when you’re not looking, like a tiny whisper of trust. Sit quietly with him, give him space, and you’ll start to see his walls slowly come down. Every small moment with Togo feels earned, and that’s what makes it so special. He’s looking for a patient, understanding home that will let him move at his own pace. Togo will need time, consistency, and a calm environment where he can continue to build confidence. Because of his sensitive nature, he would do best in an adult-only home or with older, respectful teenagers who understand that trust isn’t instant — it’s something you grow, one gentle moment at a time. A securely fenced yard is a must for this little explorer-in-training. Like any Husky, Togo has that quiet curiosity about the world, and he’ll need a safe space to stretch his legs and take it all in without feeling overwhelmed. He is heartworm positive and has started treatment. Wish Bone will continue his treatment whether it's through our vet or providing medication to the adopter's vet to administer. Togo may not be the dog who greets you at the door right away — but he’s the one who will quietly choose you, inch by inch, until one day you realize he’s right beside you, trusting you completely. And that kind of bond? It’s the rare, heart-stealing kind that makes every bit of patience worth it.  His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $12 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
