Story
Name: Nami Female 8 months old Siberian Husky About: Nami is a purebred Husky with two blue eyes. She is very playful. She is crate trained for night sleep and is still working on potty training. She knows commands in Spanish and can sit and shake hands. She is timid and nervous around her current foster dog sister but they have had issues with not getting along (the current dog in the home does not like Nami). Nami loves to play through the fence with the back fence line neighbor dogs, though. She likes to chase cats but is more playful with them than aggressive. She can play a bit roughly with younger children so we think older kids would be best. She's not aggressive, just gets very excited. She can walk on a leash but is still learning leash manners and likes to jump on her hind legs in excitement until she burns off some energy. Background: She was originally obtained by a person who does roofing but he travels long distances for work and ended up moving. She is spayed, up to date on all her vaccines, heartworm negative and will be microchipped upon adoption. If you are interested in adopting Nami, you can fill out an application at figandfriendspetrescue.org/adopt

Story
Meet Belly 9-month-old husky mix with those wow-how-are-your-eyes-that-blue eyes and a heart to match. Belly is sweet, smart, and always ready for her next adventure. She’s the kind of girl who learns fast, loves hard, and would thrive with an active family that’s down for walks, playtime, and a little husky-style zooming around the yard. A fenced-in yard is a must—this lady has places to go and fun to have. She does great with other dogs and would likely be a solid match for a home with older kids who can keep up with her playful energy. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving best friend who will keep life exciting (and maybe steal your heart in about five seconds), Belly might just be your girl ##2648540##

Story
Meet Oakley, Professional Snow Enthusiast Hi, I’m Oakley. I’m a 7-year-old, neutered male Husky with a very serious résumé that includes: • Olympic-level snow zoomies • Advanced kid-loving skills • Excellent dog-to-dog diplomacy If there’s snow on the ground, I’m thriving. If there’s no snow on the ground, I’m still thriving but dramatically waiting for winter to return. I get along great with other dogs and kids and consider both excellent members of my fan club. Cats, however… yeah, that’s gonna be a no from me. We can all agree to live separate lives and be happier for it. I’m old enough to have some wisdom, young enough to still sprint through the yard like I just heard the word “walk,” and handsome enough to stop traffic on snowy sidewalks. Now let’s address the fur in the room. I shed. A lot. Seasonally. Emotionally. Spiritually. If you’re worried about dog hair, I recommend you simply brush it off. Literally. Grab a brush. We’ll bond. You’ll vacuum. It’ll be fine. If you’re looking for a loyal, fluffy sidekick who treats winter like a personal playground, I’m your guy. Bring snacks. And maybe a sled. If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, and are dewormed.

Story
Meet Peanut! Peanut is a one-year-old Husky mix with a petite frame and a heart that’s anything but small. We’re still getting to know her, but she’s already shown us just how sweet she is. She can be a little anxious around lots of new people and busy environments at first. Big crowds aren’t really her thing. But with a little patience and a calm introduction, Peanut blossoms. Once she feels safe, she leans in for the best hugs and settles into cuddles like she was made for them. Don’t let her shy side fool you, she has a playful streak too. Peanut loves squeaky toys and will happily play fetch, proudly trotting back with her prize like she just won a championship. At around 30 pounds, she’s a smaller Husky mix, the perfect size for someone who wants that husky charm in a more compact package. If you’re ready to give her reassurance, play a little fetch, and accept top-tier hugs, Peanut is ready to meet you.
