Story
Rusty is a good boy. We had him since he was a puppy and is completely house broken. He has the typical husky spunk and howl, but is surprisingly mellow for his bred. He is 10 years old right now. Has never shown aggression towards any person. Other animals on the other hand. He will get jelious around your pet cat, so keep that in mind. He does better around other smaller to medium size dogs, but doesn't tolerate dominant behavior in alpha dogs and may fight depending on the other dogs temperment. If you and your other dogs are mellow he will be too. He does love table scraps and will sneakly eat your food if you let him. He will need walks routinely or otherwise he will get depressed. He is very affectionate, but will not let you cuddle him like a lap dog. I took him through basic obedience school and broke the habit of jumping, chewing, and some barking. He knows basic comands like sit, come, and stay. Loves head scratches and belly scratches. Will you invite him into your loving home

Story
Gus is a very sweet, loving husky. He’s a puppy and needs space to run and get his energy out. He is house trained but needs someone that will have the time to train him, especially crate training. He’s a great dog! He comes with a crate and food.

Story
Ghost is a six year old Siberian Husky. He loves to go on walks. He loves to play fetch with pretty much any type of ball. Ghost like to talk with you just like most other huskies. We got Ghost in California and he has been to Washington, South Carolina, Virginia, and now Michigan. We are hoping to find a really good home for him that can fit his active lifestyle and a backyard. He is absolutely friendly to all people and is amazing with kids. With dogs, it can really be hit or miss. He is house trained, kenneled trained and knows how to sit, shake, lay down, up, speak, and his version of crawl. He loves to cuddle and absolutely adores butt pats and neck scratches. I am no longer able to be active with him do to personal health issues, so I really want him to go to a good home that can provide for his needs.

Story
A is for all the affection I have to give V is for my vivacious nature E is for easing into new friendships R is for my refreshing outlook on life I is for the incredible adventures we will have together E is for my enthusiasm in everything I do! I hear people-pleasing is supposed to be exhausting....but not for me! Being the young little lady that I am, my potential is as high as your dedication! It is very satisfying to utilize this beautiful brain I have, to make my friends (and my future family) happy. I won't lie to you; I am still growing out of some "puppy habits" (mouthing when I am overly excited) but rest assured, positive redirection and consistency will make for a quick remedy. Because I am still learning my size and appropriate play behavior, I might be best suited for older children that have a sturdy stance. Who needs a television when you could have me to keep you entertained! My enthusiasm is expressed in such a dorky way. I like to zoom around and try my best to impersonate a professional contortionist by folding over like a pretzel with my behind in the air! I am really excited to play with other dogs too, its a great way to let my antics out before we hunker down in bed for the night. Don't wait too long, if you like it....then you should put a collar on it. Take the first steps by submitting your adoption application to the website below! DOB: 2/12/2021 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
I got her from a shelter last August. Where I live now is not a good environment for her, she is very high energy and needs space to run. She is very hyper which causes an issue for me because there is a 3 year old in the house and always wants to play with the other dog we have here and doesn’t keep in mind that the child is near. I just want to find her a better home where she is happy and able to let more energy out. She is very sweet and loving and loves attention.

Name: Iris Breed Guess: Husky Mix Age: 4 months old on 05/14/2024 Gender: Female Weight Guess: 40-70 pounds as an adult Shelter Temperament: Playful and Friendly Children: Yes Cats: Can test upon request Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $525 Likes: Playing with toys and people, and being outside The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
