Story
Casper is a sweet goofy boy who is mostly blind. He was born blind but can see some movement and shadows. Despite this disability, he quickly navigates his surrounding and can play fetch like a boss. He was adopted by my daughter 4 years ago. She is heartbroken to have to rehome him but is unable to find housing where she can keep him. We are uncertain of his actual age, but believe he is 6-8 years old. He loves to cuddle, play with his toys, and carrots are his favorite treat. He cannot be around cats. His prey drive and ability to only see shadows makes him unsafe around cats. He loves kids, people, and other dogs. I’m sad to see him go, but I have 3 cats.

Story
Kai is a very sweet dog. She has a lot of energy for an 8year old. She loves her toys and needs walks regularly. We love Kai so much but the last few years have been a struggle to keep up with her high energy. She does love food, so you’ll have to watch it. She loves to play in the water as well. We will have to bring her to a shelter if we can’t find a good home for our sweet girl.

Story
Chewy is a beautiful, friendly husky who came in as a stray. Unfortunately he has tested positive for heartworm. He is looking for a foster or foster to adopt home while he undergoes treatment. Al-Van will provide all costs of his treatment. The hardest part of fostering a dog while they go through heartworm treatment is that they are not allowed to run, jump or play and need to be kept as calm as possible. We are estimating Chewy to be about 2 years old and he weighs around 45lbs. If you are interested in fostering Chewy, please fill out an application at al-van.org/foster.

Story
Meet Spunk! He is 2-year-old dog who's full of energy and curiosity! This independent guy loves nothing more than running around outside, chasing toys, and exploring new scents. Spunk walks well on a leash, though his strong build means he might pull a bit when something exciting catches his attention. He’s already mastered the command “sit” and is ready to keep learning. While he enjoys his independence, Spunk is also a sweet and affectionate companion. If you’re looking for an adventurous buddy to share outdoor fun with, Spunk is your dog!   Personality: Independent, curious, playful, sweet Leash Manners: Walks well but occasionally pulls Favorite Activities: Chasing toys, exploring outside, running around Training: Knows the command “sit”   Volunteer Notes: “So sweet!” “Very good dog!” “Such a good boy!” “He’s a great boy, super sweet!”   *Just a heads up, the way dogs behave here at the shelter might not be exactly how they act in a home environment. Dog behavior can change once they find their forever family. These are just our observations from their time at the SPCA of SWMI.* ##2096056##
