Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sprinkles is an approximately 4-5 month old girl who came to us from the city pound. She's a bouncy and happy young dog who looks like a typical husky/shepherd type mix, but there could be some other breeds in there, too. We expect her to be a medium to large sized dog at maturity. Her adoption fee of $150 covers all of her basic vet work, which includes her distemper/parvo vaccinations, microchip, rabies vaccination when old enough, and spay surgery when old enough. Sprinkles is a loving and intelligent pup who will need training in all areas. She will also require consistent exercise. We do think she would do well with other dogs, kids, and is young enough to learn to interact nicely with cats.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 27, 2025, 1:00 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Volunteer fave in the house! Bram arrived at the shelter on 9/29/2024, after he went unclaimed at the city pound. He's a happy and energetic husky mix with icy blue eyes. We do think he's mixed with some type of herding breed. He's friendly and ready for action at all times. He's also very loving. His size is in the medium range and he's around 2 years old. He has been vet checked, neutered, and chipped. His fee is $150. We're hoping to find Bram a home that has some experience with husky types. They are notorious clowns who love to run! Bram does require basic obedience training and a lot of regular exercise to keep him settled. He loves to play and be with people. He has a tendency to be strong willed so he needs an experienced owner who is ready and willing to work with this. Cats are most likely a no for him. An adult only home would be best and a fenced yard would be perfection. He could do well with a well mannered dog of similar size. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application as been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Story
Bandit is a true, classic Husky through and through. He is intelligent, energetic, independent, and full of personality. He thrives on activity and mental stimulation and will do best in a home that understands and appreciates typical Husky traits. Bandit needs to be the only pet in the home. He is not comfortable sharing his space with other animals, and this boundary will be important for his long term success and everyone’s safety. He would benefit from continued behavioral training and consistent structure. Bandit is best suited for an adopter with prior Husky experience who understands the breed’s needs for exercise, leadership, and enrichment. An active home where he can get plenty of physical outlets and routine will help him shine. Bandit is looking for a committed, husky experienced home that can meet his needs and give him the guidance he deserves. Adoption fee is $350+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Meet Elsa ❄️ – A Gentle Soul Ready for Her Forever Home Elsa is a beautiful 3-year-old husky mix with soft, soulful eyes and a heart full of love. She may be a bit shy at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet and playful personality shines through. Elsa thrives in a calm and patient home. She loves gentle affection, soft voices, and relaxing walks. She’s crate-trained, making great progress on leash walking and basic commands like sit. Potty training is still a work in progress, so she’ll benefit from a predictable routine and continued support. She would do best in a home with adults or older children who understand her need for a slow, gentle introduction to new things. A calm, confident dog friend could help her continue building trust and confidence. If you believe in love built on trust and patience, Elsa might be the perfect match. With a little time and a lot of love, this shy girl will melt into your heart—and stay there forever. 💙 Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.

Story
Meet Ghost! This handsome boy came to PCHS from another rescue in hopes of increasing his chances of finding a forever home! Ghost is estimated to be around 6 years old and a pure white husky mix. He is more `atypical` of the husky breed and is overall pretty quiet and mild mannered. He enjoys going for walks and has pretty good leash manners. He does not seem to mind the other dogs here and would likely do well with a canine companion in his new home. He has not been cat tested at this time. Ghost would love to be back in a home where he can hang out with his family and soak up all the attention he can get!If Ghost sounds like a good fit for you, apply online today!Adoption fee is $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Meet Emma, the little lady with an unbreakable spirit!Emma is a petite, 2.5 year old husky who has been bounced around her entire life. She was adopted through us about 1.5 years ago and now finds herself back here. Though life keeps knocking her around, Emma does not let this impact her happy-go-lucky personality!Emma is a very typical husky in the sense she loves mischief and adventure. She would love a family that has time to take her with them on walks, runs, or hikes. She would also benefit from a secure, tall, fenced in back yard as she can be a bit of an escape artist. She is house trained and gets very in to her routine. As long as her potty routine is kept, she rarely has any accidents. She is also kennel trained and knows quite a few basic commands.Emma does well with most dogs, but she can butt heads a bit with other dominant female dogs. A canine companion that is a male or very submissive female would be better for her. She cannot live in a home with cats as she has a very high prey drive. If you have problem pests in your yard, she is your girl!If you think your home would be a good fit for Emma, apply online today!Adoption fee is $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax
