I'm named after Tekla Butcher-Monson, a famous musher and daughter of Iditarod and Yukon Quest champion parents. I have extra long legs for running super fast, and I'm sure I could be a champion sled dog in Alaska if I had the chance! (I will settle for some long walkies though!) I'm also very intelligent. The humans say I have beauty AND brains! I'm a good girl, and I'm fun and easy to train! I very quickly learned my name, kennel, down, come, out of the kitchen, wait, and sit. By the time you read this I probably have even more skills! I am curious and playful with other dogs, and I get along very well with the two other husky girls in my foster home. I am currently being treated for heartworm. Don't let that scare you - we can go ahead and start the adoption process in the meantime! Once my treatment is done, I expect to have a clean bill of health. I can't have too much excitement right now, but I've stayed happy and occupied with challenging stuffed Kongs and treat games. As a bonus I am crate trained and do well in my kennel. I also have a favorite fluffy bed that I love to nap on. Want to be best friends and learn and explore together? Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.  Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet.
