This gorgeous girl is so lucky to be alive! We were driving down a busy four lane highway when we spotted her run across the highway barely missing getting run down by a large box truck. She ran into the parking lot of a Dollar General so we immediately pulled into the parking lot and luckily she ran up to our van and jumped right in! We tried and tried to find her owner but to no avail. It's hard to see in the pics but she has one blue eye and one golden eye. We suspect she had a little Husky in her but we did a DNA anyway, lots and lots of breeds in her DNA, including 5% Chihuahua! She's a super mutt! Clarice is spayed, fully vaccinated, crate trained and microchipped. She is available for immediate transport PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $600

A-woooo from our fluffy friend Chance! This wonderful gentleman is a 2 year old neutered male red & white husky. Chance came to us a stray, so we don't know anything about his past, but what we do know is that he is one of the best huskies we have had the pleasure of knowing here at the shelter! He is a professional at sit, and is rather polite while he waits for leash up, as well as on his walks. However, those husky genes did not fully pass him, he does still get overly excited in some scenarios, and doesn't miss an opportunity to sing in the kennels when he thinks nobody is listening! He loves his daily walks, and also enjoys some attention when he has sniffed what he wanted. Chance tolerates brushing (we've been brushing him almost daily for a week and he's still blowing his coat!), but loves playtime! He is gentle with his toys, and likes stuffies the most.With what we have seen from Chance at the shelter, we think he would do best with dog-savvy teens+. He has been LOVING being part of our doggy playgroups, making us think he would enjoy another dog at home if you have one. He has a bouncy & slightly pushy playstyle, so your dog's personality would be important for us to determine if they would get along. We will not be placing Chance with cats or small animals. He would benefit from some training classes, so we are requiring an additional $50 training deposit from his future family that will be refunded if you show us a "graduation certificate" within 3 months of adoption. Petite medium-sized perfect (and very lucky) girl! Meet HARLAN! She was pulled before euthanized for space in a southern shelter and has been a joy in her LA foster home for the past 8 weeks. Sweet girlie Harlan is ready for a home in New England and she loves everyone she meets! She needs a foster or forever home on 4/24, pick up in Amesbury MA.  Harlan is a dream on-leash and loves walking with her foster dad, and is very puppy-like. He says––“She is such a sweet, sweet girl. She is the best walking partner you could ever ask for. Very healthy and you can no longer see her ribs. We walk five or six times a day. She does her business on pads or while we are walking. It is hard not to give her attention when she wants it because her eyes will melt your heart. There is a poor pitbull puppy here in the neighborhood that is mistreated and left outside 24/7 even when we had extreme low temperatures. It has got out several times while the owners were gone and we are in a townhome neighborhood with mostly very small dogs. All the people are scared of the pitbull but she, just like Harlan, is a real sweetie. They want to play and run together. The little pitbull comes to our house wanting to play with Harlan and so I get Harlan and the pitbull puppy follows us into our little patio area. I then put Harlan in the house and carry the pitbull puppy back to its house and secure the gate so it cannot get out. It is actually Harlan and her sweetness that is keeping that pitbull puppy safe. Just like with the pitbull puppy Harlan gets along with all other dogs and people if they allow her to. All the people we meet while walking just gush over her different color eyes. Such a beautiful, sweet girl.” Harlan is part of our unique SHELTER DOG SUCCESS PROGRAM! Her transition into your home will be supported by one of our trainers (3 sessions!) to set Harlan and your home up for success for her transition from homeless to home!  Preference is given to adopters willing to pre-adopt (commit to) a puppy or dog before arrival to MA. During this timeframe, your pups not only see our isolation vet twice but also receive additional rounds of dewormer along with pre + probiotics; transition to Canidae food; additional behavior assessments as they decompress; and so much love and thoughtfulness from our volunteers. Your pups are bathed at intake and again before pick up. All are paired in kennels with littermates or for those that travel alone, we have a rotation of volunteers to visit with them. We provide enrichment throughout the day and meditation music during nap time and through the overnight. We use these 48 hours to ready your pup to transition into a foster or adoptive home and do all that we can to reduce their stress while they are with us.  Harlan has loved every human (and dog) she's met along the way. Sissi is a black Chow Chow mix, DOB approximately 5-10-2023. Sissi has a front leg elbow that was broken sometime in her past and healed so that she cannot bend that leg. The vet calls it chronic dislocation of the right front elbow. She has hip dysplasia on the right hip. Sissi has a very pronounced limp, but she can climb and run and play. She is a sweetheart, loves to be petted and loves to play. The adoption fee is $50. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip.
