Story
Benson (approximately 57 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. If you are a fan of Huskies, you MUST come meet this lovely boy! Benson is a wonderful dog who enjoys cuddling just as much as he enjoys romping in the snow - and that's saying A LOT, because this boy ADORES snow. You should have seen his face when he walked off the transfer van and eyeballed the giant snow mounds at our facility - he must have thought he had arrived in Heaven, he was so thrilled! We HAD to allow Benson to frolic in our fenced in play yard before we could bring him inside, and it was truly heartwarming to watch a Husky get to fully enjoy his natural habitat for the first time. Benson was raised with two Husky brothers in his previous home, and he got along well with both of them, so we suspect he could happily live with another dog (or two). Benson is handsome, adventurous, charming, and so very social - he is going to make almost any Husky fanatic VERY happy, so come down & meet him today! If you'd like to meet Benson and all of his friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Have questions? Call (603) 772-2921 ext. 110 or email info@nhspca.org today. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 25.8 Age: 0yrs 11mths 1wks

Story
Meet Kiva- A 1-year-old German Shepherd with a lot of potential and an eager-to-learn attitude. She may still be young, but she's already been working on her training and knows several basic commands, including sit, come, wait, lay down, and off. She's a smart girl who enjoys learning and would do great with continued training and structure. Kiva has lived with people of all ages and does well around them. She has also lived with other dogs and enjoyed their company, but she has not lived with or been around cats, so a cat-free home would be best for her at this time. When it comes to playtime and relaxation, Kiva knows how to enjoy both. Her favorite way to relax is spending time in a sunny mudroom with all of her toys surrounding her. When she's feeling energetic, she loves running around the yard for hours until she happily tires herself out. She is crate trained and does well with having her own space.Kiva is also a big fan of chewing and especially loves bully sticks and chew toys, which help keep her busy and content. With the right home that can continue her training and give her plenty of exercise and love, Kiva will make a loyal, fun, and devoted companion. Does Kiva sound like the match for you? Stop by the Adoption Center during open hours 11am-4pm Thursday-Tuesday (closed Wednesdays). Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 23.1 Age: 1yrs 0mths 3wks

Good with kids, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Sashi is a friendly, outgoing boy who loves meeting new people and making friends wherever he goes. He’d prefer a home with older kids who can match his energy and give him the respectful space he needs to feel comfortable. Previously a farm dog, Sashi was trained to leave chickens and goats alone, but he still has a strong instinct to chase small animals, including cats, so he’ll need a cat-free home. He can also be selective with other dogs and may guard his favorite items, so he’d thrive as an only dog. With the right management and thoughtful introductions, he may be able to live with a compatible canine friend. Sashi knows some basic cues and is an absolute joy to walk, he’s polite on leash and always ready for an adventure. Whether it’s hiking, exploring, or enjoying the outdoors year-round, Sashi will be right by your side with a happy tail and a big smile. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to share your adventures, Sashi is ready to meet you!

Story
Rosie was dumped in the country where I live in Western New York with her friend Bo. They got into a Porcupine, it was bad. I trapped them and got them to a vet. Rosie was in very bad shape. Not only did she have quills in her face, but she had a very bad Uterus infection. The vet feared she would not make it. Well, it turns out she also had Lyme disease. Poor girl! Rosie is all better and doing great! She is probably 2 years old and very playful! She loves having another dog to play with. Rosie is sweet and loves her person, but she is higher energy, likes to play all the time. She has stopped chewing on my shoes and she no longer jumps on me. She has learned to use the doggie door and spends most of her time outside playing. She would do best in a home with another younger dog she can play with and she needs a fenced yard or lots of property to play on. She doesn't run away, she knows where home is. She can be timid with strangers at first, but seems to warm up quickly. I don't have a lot of action at my house, so it is unusual for someone besides me to be here. UPDATE - This little dog is really growing on me. She is all personality! She is a clown and can be vocal at times, she woo Woo's at me sometimes, makes me laugh. Rosie does great with all the other dogs and my cat. She likes to sleep on my bed and has sure figured out the couch. She really is very sweet and gentle once given boundaries. She is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed. She is on flea tick treatment as well. Link to application http://fs6.formsite.com/savinemallrescueyahoocom/form1/index.html

Story
Max is a calm, gentle giant. He loves to just lay around and be a part of his family. He has easy-going energy wise and prefers to be indoors. He does great with older kids, but tends to get anxious with little ones who don’t understand his boundaries. Unfortunately, our family has little ones that can’t respect his boundaries so we believe he belongs in a home where he can get full attention and the right love he deserves. He loves his walks two walks a day is ideal, but sometimes one walk is enough. He will play fetch for a few minute outdoors, but he rather just smell around. He does great with other dogs, he is also raised in a house with cats, but they tend to be in different parts of the house because he gets a little too excited about the cats. Hoping to find a home with older kids or just adults.
