SOS! Solomon is a wonderful 9 yr old husky boy needing an urgent home with no cats or chickens. He was surrendered for euthanasia for killing chickens. Huskies are notorious for escape artists when they are bored. Since he was pulled to the rescue, he has never attempted to escape our fence. He is fully vetted and house trained. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. His adoption fee is only the cost of transport. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application.

Story
Meet Stella, a beautiful adult Husky mix with a big personality and even bigger energy! True to her breed, Stella is an active, intelligent girl who thrives on physical exercise and mental challenges. She loves spending time with her people, whether that’s hanging out together or playing an enthusiastic game of fetch. At the end of the day, though, she's ready to snuggle and get some good scratches. Stella would do best in a home with older kids who can understand and enjoy her energetic nature, and she’ll need a cat-free home. She’s still working on some basic obedience, like polite leash walking and keeping all four paws on the ground, but with consistency and love, she’ll shine. Stella is ready for an active family to call her own! Come meet Stella today!

Come meet Bruno! He's a lively dog who's looking for his next home. He's gentle and sweet. Bruno may be a bit shy in the shelter, but when he is out, he opens up and his playful side comes out. He loves to run around and play with his people, however toys don't seem to grab his interest that much. If you're looking for a new addition to the family, check out Bruno.

Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Meet Thor! He’s a barrel of laughs and lots of snuggles once he feels comfortable in his environment. He was rescued from a hoarding situation and likely came up short in socialization, so he’s a bit shy at first until he learns to trust. He’s made great progress in his foster home and loves playing with the dogs there. And he loves balls! Chasing, tossing, carrying, pushing - you name it! He wasn’t so sure he liked the little people who came to visit so a home without young children would probably be best. He’s innocent yet street smart at the same time, afraid someone is out to “catch” him. He’s house trained and would really like a nice couch he and his new family can cuddle on. He’s working on leash walking. A fenced yard would be great but will need to be high because those cute, short, powerful legs can jump an unbelievable 4 feet. Thor would cherish a patient, loving person/family who can help him broaden his comfort zone. Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Meet Nova! Nova is a beautiful, one-year-old husky with the sweetest soul. She is incredibly loving and thrives when she’s around her people — whether that’s going for walks, hanging out at home, or just being part of the action. She has a fun, playful personality and keeps you laughing with her expressions and classic husky attitude. Nova is eager to learn, people-oriented, and a joy to work with. She already knows basic commands including sit, shake, and touch, Nova is doing very well with both potty training and kennel training and has adapted quickly to a home environment.
