Story
Meet Moose! Moose is a big, lovable sweetheart with a warm personality and a whole lot of charm. He adores people, loves attention, and is always ready to share a happy smile or lean in for some affection. Whether he’s going for walks, playing, or just enjoying time with his favorite humans, Moose brings joy to every moment. Moose is truly a sweet boy, but he does have a strong prey drive and cannot live in a home with chickens or other small animals. He’ll do best in a home that can keep him safely separated from livestock and critters while giving him the love, structure, and companionship he thrives on. Moose has so much love to give and is ready to find a family who will appreciate his gentle heart and goofy, lovable personality.

Story
Meet Thor! He’s a barrel of laughs and lots of snuggles once he feels comfortable in his environment. He was rescued from a hoarding situation and likely came up short in socialization, so he’s a bit shy at first until he learns to trust. He’s made great progress in his foster home and loves playing with the dogs there. And he loves balls! Chasing, tossing, carrying, pushing - you name it! He wasn’t so sure he liked the little people who came to visit so a home without young children would probably be best. He’s innocent yet street smart at the same time, afraid someone is out to “catch” him. He’s house trained and would really like a nice couch he and his new family can cuddle on. He’s working on leash walking. A fenced yard would be great but will need to be high because those cute, short, powerful legs can jump an unbelievable 4 feet. Thor would cherish a patient, loving person/family who can help him broaden his comfort zone. Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
Hi! I'm Ella, your future best friend. I love being around people, especially kids—they're so much fun! I'm very gentle and sweet, making me a perfect family companion. I'm also quite smart and understand quickly what you ask of me. Walks? I'm a pro with a leash, always ready for adventures or just a peaceful stroll. Playtime is my favorite, and I cherish every moment we can toss a ball or play tug-of-war. Looking for a loyal, loving friend? I'm right here waiting to fill your home with joy and friendship! Adoption Process you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, the adoption fee is $150. ##2533709##
