Story
Zirah is a sweet little husky mix who is coming up on her first birthday and her only wish is to find a home to call her very own.   Zirah is extremely timid and was not well socialized to people.    She has a strong prey drive, so can't live with cats or small dogs.   She loves dogs her size and bigger (she is just 35 lbs) and is learning how to "dog" a bit more each and every day.   She will run if not contained, and hasn't been well acclimated to a leash, so definitely will need a fenced yard.  She is a smart girl, and is catching on to housebreaking.   She is still mouthy, but not aggressive.  But for this reason, and her tendency to jump on people, a home without young children is needed.  For the little bit we had snow this year, she loved it!   Zirah is a gorgeous girl who has all the potential in the world, but she needs a human who will be patient with her and teach her good manners. In return, you will have her loyalty and love, and the immense reward of seeing her blossom right before your very eyes.   Zirah is eligible for our foster to adopt program.   If you think you might be a good fit, please send us a message.  If you don't already have an application on file, please to go out website and fill one out!  www.newleashdogrescue.com ##1983299##

Story
Camo needs our help. His family is facing eviction if they don't move Camo (we have no details on this and honestly--doesn't change the fact that Camo needs our help). His family has had a few deadline extension but they are out of time and the shelters near them have almost 100% euthanization rate, so we are hoping to keep him out of a shelter. Camo is currently in Texas. We re told Camo is absolutely amazing. He sits and lays down and is a wonderful dog. He is living in very cramped quarters and is still well behaved. He is great with other dogs, kids, all people. He can be trusted to be left uncrated when home alone. He his housebroke and not destructive.   ##2045676##

Story
Mama SKY! This gorgeous gal is the mom of our most recent beautiful husky mix pups: Ariel, Astro, Aurora, Leo, Luna, Mira, and Nova. The 8 of them were found abandoned in Texas; mama Sky was bone thin and in desperate need of assistance. But, she was an outstanding mama! She absolutely rocked her mom duties…and now: 1) will never have to endure the exhaustion of mom’ing again, and 2) is good & ready for a forever family of her very own!   Sky (female) is a sweet husky girl who was born on 5/1/23. She is now 1 year + 2 months old. She was still so thin upon her arrival to Wisconsin…which is understandable, since she was busy nursing! Her foster family has been working hard to ensure she gets the nutrition she needs, and she now weighs-in right around 50lbs. She will likely need to gain just a couple more pounds, but she’s looking (& feeling!) MUCH healthier and happier! Sky is AMAZINGLY sweet with all people! She just adores humans…adults, toddlers, young kiddos — everyone is a friend! Although, of note, she has been known to sneak food from little humans’ hands! When it comes to doggie friends, Sky is a bit selective on who she allows into her inner circle. She has [slowly] accepted the other dogs in her foster home…but it has taken lots of time and patience. Therefore if she goes to a home with other dogs, she will require both a meet & greet with them prior to adoption + PLENTY of monitored adjustment time! She seems to get a bit intimidated by larger dogs and can get nippy with them. However she also has a prey drive, so super small dogs are likely not Sky-friendly. Her current 4-legged friends are both around her size, and they allow her the chance to check them out + warm up prior to being up in her face. Because of her prey drive, she does need a home without kitties!   Sky has really started to come into her own in her foster home! Her playful, perky, silly personality is starting to show, which just makes us so happy. She has started “husky talking” with her foster mom (so apartment living is definitely not her ideal!). Her coat is looking so much better + starting to fill in nicely…and she has learned that snuggles with her people are actually pretty darn amazing! She isn’t super [dog] food/treat motivated, but her husky smarts are apparent! A home with previous husky experience would be a huge perk for her. Sky does just fine on a tie-out and is familiar being on-leash, but is strong and will need strong guidance + continued training! She truly is a sweetheart. She has come SO far, and has endless potential left in her! We can’t wait to see her settle into the forever family she was always meant to be a part of. If she sounds like the perfect fit for you, please apply + reach out via private message! Just ask for Sky! Story
Blitz is a 6-year-old Husky mix, who was adopted in December from Rock County Humane Society. Blitz didn't do well in his previous home due to anxiety with other dogs in the home, and a poor dynamic with the family. Blitz is kennel trained but needs some positive training with housebreaking. He seems to enjoy children who come here to the shelter. Due to Blitz not having great adoption experience prior to coming here we would recommend a quieter household, with older children, and a family to give him lots of love and patience. Blitz has been with us for 16 weeks now and is a loveable boy with all the staff! He loves his outside time and being brushed. He will hop into his kiddie pool on the few hot days we have had so far to play in the water!“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy’s team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle me into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).”

Story
Yuki is a 2-year-old Siberian Husky who was transferred to us from another shelter when her owners could not afford her care. Yuki has been with children and other dogs, however, she spent a few months in a home where she did not get along with any other dogs, in the home, or strange dogs outside the home. Due to this we believe it would be best for Yuki to be an only pet in the home. Yuki is house and crate trained. She is very smart and knows sit, down, come and shake. She is ready to learn more! Yuki will need an active home with lots of outdoor time. She loves to play fetch and go for rides in the car.

Story
Prince and Zainy are bonded "brothers". They adore each other and snuggle up to sleep. Prince is 2 months younger than Zainy and is a great mix of Husky and German Shepherd, while Zainy is a purebred Husky. These two are very energetic and love to play! Both boys are gentle with humans and listen well. They enjoy going for car rides and going for walks. Prince and Zainy lived in a home with young children. Prince and Zainy are both crate and house-trained.Both of these boys have higher prey drives, so a home with small animals is needed. They do get along with other dogs with slow meet and greets.Being these two love to run, and are great escape artists, they do need a secure tie-out or a high fence to keep them safe and at home. Zainy and Price love the pool and jump right in to cool off on these hot days. They have basic manners such as sit, down, stay and shake, and you can see they would love to learn more! The boys would love a home together, but it is not a requirement.
