Story
Hilda is looking for her knights in shining armor! This darling damsel is 9.8 pounds of pure sweetness and curiosity. While she might not know what toys are, she enjoys following her people around the house and getting pets while she’s sitting beside you on the couch or cuddling into a cozy blanket on the bed. She’s had her heart broken in the past so she needs a bit of time and patience, but that just means that you’ll get to see her blossom as she learns how wonderful you are! As her foster mom so eloquently put it, this precious pup just wants to be loved. At five years old, she has lots of love left to give, so come be Hilda’s hero and adopt her today! Good with: Other dogs, snacks, cozy blankets, tagging along to see what you’re doing, gentle pets Not good with: Leashes. She’s a bit scared of leashes, though she’s fine being carried! Housetrained: Yes Breed: Terrier and Schnauzer Size: 9.8 lbs Gender: Female

Story
Trixie is a gentle senior girl who has been through far more than any dog ever should. She first came to Follow Your Heart earlier this year as a “last litter” mama, and when her owners recently decided to surrender her, we didn’t hesitate for a second to bring her back into our loving arms. After a decade of surviving on the streets, raising litter after litter, and never truly knowing comfort, Trixie is finally getting her chance at the soft, peaceful life she has always deserved.✨ Why Trixie is a Gem:• Housebroken and wonderfully polite• Great on a leash — she loves slow, gentle strolls• Non-destructive and can be trusted alone• Kennel trained and enjoys having her own cozy spot• Calm, quiet, and incredibly easy to have in the homeTrixie is still learning that she’s safe now. She needs a patient, loving home that will give her time to decompress and discover all the little joys of indoor life — warm beds, predictable routines, and the freedom to finally relax without being on constant alert. With kindness, consistency, and a soft place to land, this beautiful soul will blossom. Whoever opens their heart to Trixie will be giving a senior dog the greatest gift of all: a peaceful, love-filled life she has waited far too long for. 💛If you think Trixie might be your forever girl, we’d love to introduce you.Meet Trixie — a gentle senior finally getting the soft life she’s always deserved. After years on the streets and raising countless litters, Trixie was surrendered back to us, and we welcomed her with open arms. She’s now learning what comfort and safety truly feel like.✨ Why she’s wonderful:• Housebroken and polite• Great on a leash• Non-destructive and trustworthy• Kennel trained• Calm, quiet, and easygoingTrixie just needs a patient, loving home to help her decompress and enjoy the peaceful life she’s waited so long for. Friends! Help me find the PURRFECT home!! Lolly(white) and Grizzly(tan) are a bonded mother-daughter pair. They will only be adopted together, which has made it hard to place them. They are also nervous dogs who need space and time to warm up. Their purrfect home would be patient and more on the quiet side. They are completely fine with other dogs, but would also be happy to be the only dogs. They actually LOVE kids - so that is a plus. Mommy Lolly is about 2 and Grizzly will be 1 in a few days. They are potty trained and are snuggle bugs once they warm up. They have a reduced adoption fee because they need to go together. They are fine with cats as well. They literally just want a soft bed and a human to snuggle with!

Story
To know Jack is to love him. You could not ask for a sweeter gentler kinder boy. He is part Jack Russell we believe. He’s about eight years old. He has a badly broken jaw in his past, but it does not affect him other than give him some very unique features. It’s part of what makes him adorable. He just had his teeth professionally cleaned. Jack would make a wonderful companion for someone who wants a loyal dog to sit by their side. He rarely barks and causes no trouble. He would prefer to be an only dog as he does not enjoy sharing his meals. Other than that, he would be fine with another dog as long as they were separated for meal time. We do not know much of Jack’s history except that at some point he was badly injured which at minimum included his jaw and his left eye. Apparently no one took any action to get medical care for him. Now it is too late, but he has learned to live with it and eats just like any other dog. Would you be the person to give Jack a chance? You would be repaid generously with his love and affection. Jack may need a little bit of work in a new environment with house training. We will supply you with belly bands, and any support needed to help with this transition and training. We are working with him here as well. Jack’s adoption fee is $150. This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
Mia is a special girl who was surrendered to us when her owners were going through a divorce. Mia is a sweet, quiet girl who gets along with everyone she meets. She is not a barker and is an "easy keeper." Shes not demanding but still is attentive and loving. Mia walks well on a leash, is good in a crate and is housebroken. She came to us with an advanced but fixable medical problem which was not disclosed by the owner. She had bladder stones taking up so much of her bladder that she could hardly hold any urine which is most likely the real reason neither owner wanted to keep her. She had surgery and does have to eat a high quality diet low in phosphorus but otherwise is completely healthy and ready for her new home. She is 9 years old and she weighs 17 lbs. She will be a wonderful companion to anyone who has love to share with a beautiful dog.
