Story
Say hi to Bea, she is a 2 year-old Chihuahua/Jack Russel/Doxi mix weighing 20 pounds.  She is the sweetest lady who is just looking for a proper cuddler. Bea’s only goal is to love and be loved. She enjoys her long walks filled with different smells just as much as she enjoys curling up on a warm couch. She does very well with other dogs, cats unknown. She can be a nervous nelly in new environments but it does not take long for her fun and unique personality to shine. Not much is known about her past but she comes from a home filled with many dogs where she had puppies and taken away too quickly. She is looking for a patient and trustworthy parent she can gain her confidence back with.  She is potty trained/leash trained and knows to handle her business outside. If you are looking for a bundle of joy who is just as excited for you to come home as much as you are, Bea is the gal for you! Beemo aka Bea! loves to say hi to new people as long as they have a calm and welcoming presence, as she is still gaining her trust back with humans. Her favorite hobbies include rolling around in grass, soaking up some sun with people she trusts, playing with her toys, and naps after a yummy dinner.   She is a well-behaved, happy, and easy-going girl. If you are looking for a loyal companion to care for, Bea would love to meet you.   Bea is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee of $250 helps offset the rescue's medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think she could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application* helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/ .   *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Story
Hello Lexie! Lexie is a gorgeous, wire-coated Jack Russell Terrier. She is very playful but knows how to relax when properly exercised. She loves to hunt outdoor critters and is quite social. Lexie is a 4-year-old, 25-pound spayed female who is house and kennel trained, has basic training commands in place, and walks well on a leash. She gets along with other dogs but prefers playing with humans and toys. She is friendly with adults and older children (ages 12 and up), as her energy can be a bit too much for smaller kids. She would do well as an only dog or with another respectful dog. Lexie was taken in by her current foster after her previous owner passed away. She and her sibling were found in poor condition due to the owner's medical issues, but Lexie has since been fully rehabilitated, vetted, and trained by her foster. She is now healthy and ready for the next chapter of her journey. Lexie is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $350, which helps cover medical expenses for the rescue.  If you are looking for the perfect companion and have the love in your heart to help Lexie, please complete our online application at www.helpadogsmile.org.   Her foster mom will then reach out to you.   August 6, 2026, 9:24 pm

Meet Dukie! Adoption fee $150 Dukie was found as a stray. He was very fearful when he was brought to the shelter. He can be a bit of a jerk when he feels cornered. He needs a family that is patient and has lots of love for this guy! He isn't a fan of being picked up. In time he will trust and that can be worked on. For now he needs the 3, 3, 3, rule. The good with Dukie is he loves to snuggle next to you. He does great on a leash. He does well with female dogs. Male dogs take a little more time. He goes on car rides too! His foster is working with him on all of these quirks. Because he is quirky we suggest no small children. Dukie is neutered, UTD on vaccines, and microchipped. Dukie is approximately 8 years old and weighs 16.5 pounds. To meet Dukie, please fill out the application https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAWP/Dog

Story
Meet Yank. He’s 9 pounds, 8 months old, and a Parson Russel Terrier Mix. At 15 weeks old, Yank had a hole in his mouth and burns on his lips. He had bruising, extreme inflammation, deep cuts and two holes around his muzzle. Someone put a rubber band on Yank’s mouth and left it there to cause these injuries. Additionally, from the band being tight, it played havoc on his teeth. His cheeks rubbing on them caused his gums to wear away. All of this before he was 15 weeks old. Now? This boy is perfect. He has healed which took a while but he’s playful, loves friends, runs like crazy, plays with toys and is happy on your lap. It’d be great if Yank had a friend around his size because he loves to play and wrestle. Yank is looking for his perfect family now. Contact us at medicalanimalsinneed@gmail.com with any questions or go to medicalanimalsinneed.com and fill out our adoption application. Yank is up to date on shots, is microchipped, and has been neutered. His adoption fee is $300.

Story
Meet Milo – 7 Years Old | 25 lbs | Jack Russell Mix (with maybe a little Beagle!) Some dogs come into rescue looking for a second chance. Milo came looking for a miracle. Milo’s story began on the streets, where he was hit by a car. His family was told he would never walk on all four legs again and decided they didn’t want to spend the money to save him. They chose euthanasia instead. But the veterinary team couldn’t let his story end there. The veterinarians and staff came together, raising the funds needed to give Milo the surgery, care, and rehabilitation he deserved. Today, this incredible little survivor is healed, thriving, and finally ready to find the forever family he’s waited so long for. Milo is a 7-year-old, 25-pound Jack Russell Mix with what we swear is a little Beagle mixed in—especially when he lets out his adorable little howl! He’s one of the easiest dogs you’ll ever meet. If you’re looking for a companion who isn’t going to jump all over your furniture or constantly demand your attention, Milo is your guy. He’s perfectly content doing his own thing while you’re at work or running errands, and he’ll happily greet you when you get home with his sweet, grateful personality. We truly believe he knows he was given a second chance at life, and he lives every day with quiet happiness. Inside the house, Milo gets around by scooting himself with impressive determination. Outside, he has his own custom wheelchair that allows him to safely explore the yard, enjoy the fresh air, and take care of his business just like any other dog. Don’t let his mobility difference fool you—he doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. Milo doesn’t need your pity. He simply needs someone willing to see past his wheels and recognize the amazing little dog underneath. His heart is whole, his spirit is unbreakable, and he has so much love left to give. If you’ve been waiting for a truly special companion—one who will remind you every day that resilience, gratitude, and unconditional love still exist—Milo is waiting to meet you. Apply to adopt Milo today at azdawgz.org.

Story
Hi! I’m Jordan! I am a 1-year-old, 13 pound rat terrier pup.  I am not too sure what is rat terrier is but I do know I am a happy and bouncy little guy who loves playing with toys, sitting in laps, and getting belly rubs. I’m a little shy when I enter a new home with new people, but I warm up quickly and I get along with all dogs instantly, probably because I used to live with a lot of them. I don’t think I had a lot of rules or commands in my last house, but my foster mom is teaching me and I’m getting the hang of them pretty quickly. One of my favorite things to do is taking walks. I am now leash trained! I’d love to find a furever home with patient people, and at least one other dog to play with. Jordon is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $350, which helps cover medical expenses for the rescue. If you are looking for an adorable and sweet pup, please complete our online application at:  Application .  *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match.
