Story
Millie is a sweet, playful puppy looking for her forever home! She’s estimated to be around 7–8 months old and is full of happy puppy energy. Millie is curious, playful, and very affectionate — she loves cuddling and will happily curl up with you after playtime. She enjoys exploring the world and can get excited by new attaching and sounds, so she’ll thrive with someone who enjoys continuing basic training and helping a young dog grow into her best self. She’s kennel trained, does well going outside, and is still working on being fully potty trained (she’s getting there!). Millie gets along well with other dogs after a short adjustment period and would do great in a home that can give her daily playtime, structure, and love. Bonus: she LOVES ice cubes 🧊 If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion and don’t mind a little puppy energy, Millie could be the perfect match.

Friends! Help me find the PURRFECT home!! Lolly(white) and Grizzly(tan) are a bonded mother-daughter pair. They will only be adopted together, which has made it hard to place them. They are also nervous dogs who need space and time to warm up. Their purrfect home would be patient and more on the quiet side. They are completely fine with other dogs, but would also be happy to be the only dogs. They actually LOVE kids - so that is a plus. Mommy Lolly is about 2 and Grizzly will be 1 in a few days. They are potty trained and are snuggle bugs once they warm up. They have a reduced adoption fee because they need to go together. They are fine with cats as well. They literally just want a soft bed and a human to snuggle with!

Story
To know Jack is to love him. You could not ask for a sweeter gentler kinder boy. He is part Jack Russell we believe. He’s about eight years old. He has a badly broken jaw in his past, but it does not affect him other than give him some very unique features. It’s part of what makes him adorable. He just had his teeth professionally cleaned. Jack would make a wonderful companion for someone who wants a loyal dog to sit by their side. He rarely barks and causes no trouble. He would prefer to be an only dog as he does not enjoy sharing his meals. Other than that, he would be fine with another dog as long as they were separated for meal time. We do not know much of Jack’s history except that at some point he was badly injured which at minimum included his jaw and his left eye. Apparently no one took any action to get medical care for him. Now it is too late, but he has learned to live with it and eats just like any other dog. Would you be the person to give Jack a chance? You would be repaid generously with his love and affection. Jack may need a little bit of work in a new environment with house training. We will supply you with belly bands, and any support needed to help with this transition and training. We are working with him here as well. Jack’s adoption fee is $150. This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
Mia is a special girl who was surrendered to us when her owners were going through a divorce. Mia is a sweet, quiet girl who gets along with everyone she meets. She is not a barker and is an "easy keeper." Shes not demanding but still is attentive and loving. Mia walks well on a leash, is good in a crate and is housebroken. She came to us with an advanced but fixable medical problem which was not disclosed by the owner. She had bladder stones taking up so much of her bladder that she could hardly hold any urine which is most likely the real reason neither owner wanted to keep her. She had surgery and does have to eat a high quality diet low in phosphorus but otherwise is completely healthy and ready for her new home. She is 9 years old and she weighs 17 lbs. She will be a wonderful companion to anyone who has love to share with a beautiful dog.

Story
Hi! I’m Jordan! I am a 9 month old, 13 pound rat terrier puppy.  I am no too sure what is rat terrier is but I do know I am a happy and bouncy little guy who loves playing with toys, sitting in laps, and getting belly rubs. I’m a little shy when I enter a new home with new people, but I warm up quickly and I get along with all dogs instantly, probably because I used to live with a lot of them. I don’t think I had a lot of rules or commands in my last house, but my foster mom is teaching me and I’m getting the hang of them pretty quickly. I’d love to find a furever home with patient people, and at least one other dog to play with. Jordon is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $350, which helps cover medical expenses for the rescue. If you are looking for an adorable and sweet pup, please complete our online application at:  Application .  *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up .  December 30, 2025, 11:06 am

Story
Welcome Sweet Oscar!   Oscar is a five-month-old, 10-pound Border Terrier mix puppy.   He is full of puppy energy and loves attention, toys, and food. Now that he is a bit older, Oscar's favorite activity is playing with the other small dogs in his foster home. Oscar has lots of energy for playtime and is very affectionate; he enjoys being a lap companion.    Oscar is housetrained and sleeps in a dog bed at night. He is crated when his foster mom runs errands, but, as a puppy, he should not be crated all day. We are looking for a forever home where someone is home often and can dedicate time to continue his socialization, basic obedience training, and active play. His ideal home will also have another small  playful dog.    Oscar is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $350, which helps cover medical expenses for the rescue.   If you are looking for an adorable and sweet puppy companion, please complete our online application at: https://www.helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/ .  A volunteer coordinator will contact you after reviewing your submission.   *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Story
I found Daisy surviving alone in the snow, abandoned and wandering the streets with no one to care for her. She had been on her own for nearly a year.. hungry, cold, and exhausted. When I rescued Daisy, I didnt know she was pregnant. She trusted me enough to come inside, warm up, and let me care for her as she slowly began to feel safe again. About a month later, she birth to a litter of five puppies. She allowed me to be by her side and handle her puppies during that time with no hostility. I raised her puppies until they were ready for homes. Ive had her a year she is fully potty trained, spayed, vaccinated, calm in the home, and very affectionate. She loves to cuddle and has a peaceful, gentle spirit most of the time. She does have moments of excitement especially outside where she try to run and explore, so she needs someone who will enjoy her playful bursts and keep her safely on a leash. I’m hoping to remain in contact just to see how she instead of taking her to the rescue.
