Story
Ruby is a sweet rescue dog who loves to be around and spend time with people she trusts, which helps her feel more relaxed and calm. She really loves tummy rubs and going on walks and exploring her environment. She is gentle around children, but if she needs a break will go into her kennel to feel safe and comfortable. She is older with signs of age, has a cataract, but always gets excited when thinks she’ll be going on a walk!! She is estimated to be 11 years old. Activity and attention help prevent boredom behaviors such as licking, and she will sit on our lap if we let her and might sneak in a quick kiss if our face is close. She jumps around when excited to play and run. Family circumstances have changed so we are not able to provide regular walks and possible future veterinary expenses. Over time has developed a firm lump above her left paw but she shows no signs of discomfort and able to walk normally as usual. She needs a family where she can be active and feel safe and loved.

Story
I came in as a stray, so the staff doesn`t know much about my life before the shelter, though the staff has learned that I`m very shy and will need a slow introduction so I can feel comfortable in my new home. While I am scared at first, I do like sitting with my people and sometimes even resting my head on them. I`m not too fond of being picked up and fast movements can spook me, so I would do best in a quiet, adult household without young children. I`ll need my own fenced in yard, so that I can safely go outside since being on leash scares me. Like with many things, other dogs can make me nervous, though the staff has noticed that I seem to prefer dogs around my size (25lbs) who respect my boundaries. Either way, I`ll need to meet all other dogs in the household before adoption. The staff doesn`t know if I`ve lived with cats though I might be okay. If you`re looking for a little project dog to enrich your life, I`m your girl!

Story
Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogIf you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react.  Hi! My name is Bear, and I am a sweet, senior Jack Russell Terrier who is 10 years old, and I weigh 13 pounds. I have lived in confinement my whole life, and I can be shy at first, so I need a quiet home where I can live out my life enjoying all the things I have missed. A home visit is required with all members of the family. Local Phx area adoptions, only, please. If you have been waiting for a sweet JRT, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Bear 041523-13  June 16, 2024, 2:06 pm

Story
Hi, I'm Charlie. I am a jack russel terrier mix who wants to be your forever companion. I'm a little older but that just means I am a little wiser and still as handsome as ever. Some how I got separated from my previous family and I couldn't find them. Some other people found me and they took me to the pound. That is a scary place for a little guy like me but I was lucky enough to get out of there with the help of Central Arizona Animal Rescue and now they are helping me find a new family. I'm about 7 or 8 years old, I don't remember for sure when I was born. I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. I love to hang out and relax and maybe have a few snacks. I'm very good with other dogs, big or small, as long as they don't get too rough with me because I am not very big and puppies can be kinda annoying. I don't know if I like cats but small children are ok as long as they are not too rough with me. If you are looking for a loyal companion that doesn't require too much exercise, I'm the one for you. Please e-mail mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment to meet me. I can't wait to meet you!   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Central Arizona Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation. We are located in San Tan Valley, AZ. If you have other dogs already, you must bring them for introduction prior to adoption. Story
MEET  JACK #11!!! Jack is a sweet boy looking for his forever person. He is currently in foster and enjoying a more relaxed and safe place. Jack does have some anxiety, which results in some pacing, but he is easy to redirect.  He gets along with other dogs. Jack loves to learn and could use some minor training, so he is ready for someone to teach him all they can. Jack does not do well with strangers; He will do best in a home that does not have new people coming into the home very often. Meeting new people is very scary for him. Jack is house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. He does get startled easily when woken, so is bests to be woken up with a vocal command rather than by touch.  So it is recommended only older, (teen+) considerate children be in the home. This little boy just wants a person who will love him and give him a safe space to be himself. Give Jack a little time to trust, and he will be an amazing boy! Meet Jack today! If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com   June 15, 2024, 4:05 am

Hello, I'm Lil'li and I am a pup who has lots of energy. I enjoy going on walks with my leash and have started becoming more comfortable around new faces. I'm the last one left of my litter and I'm patiently awaiting for my furrever home to come meet me. I enjoy cuddling on the couch and falling asleep with you and in the evening, I get some pretty fun zoomies that might require a few laps around a nice spacious yard. I'm potty trained and I'm very eager to please. Consider meeting me at a future event or call my foster mama to set up a meet and greet!

Peanut is a very shy and scared little dog. She is extremely dog friendly and loves to cuddle up with the other dogs in her kennel, but is very afraid of most people. She is going to need a very patient person or family that is willing to put time into working through her nervousness. She loves treats and can be very sweet, but can also be nippy. She is not recommended for kids under 12. Story
Lucy Lu enjoyed much love in her previous home. Maybe a bit too much was in the form of food, for this sweet 10- to 11-year-old rat terrier arrived at her New Rattitude foster home very much over her ideal weight of about 15 lbs. Lucy is too embarrassed to tell us what the scales currently say, but she's proud that she has already shed 1.6 lbs. with copious walks and playtime with her canine foster brother, as well as feedings carefully measured by her foster mom. Lucy needs her adopter to commit to helping her complete her journey to good health.   Before coming to NR, Lucy lived with one person and a cat, so she's shy around new people, barking at them and then avoiding them. If left alone, she'll approach when she's ready; people ignoring this advice will likely be growled at. Lucy still gets along with cats and has learned a lot about living with other dogs. She enjoys playing with them and with toys. You should see her fine game of tug-of-war! She occasionally gets growly and tries to lay claim to certain toys or space, but her foster mom has taught her about sharing by permitting access to these cherished resources only when her behavior is appropriate. Lucy would be fine as an only dog or as a member of a small group of easy-going canine friends.   Lucy is reliably house-trained as long as you take her out or provide access to a dog door. She's also crate trained and will sleep in her crate at night and for naps. However, she would LOVE to sleep in your bed. She's such an affectionate pup and an easy keeper, how could you possibly say no? You can see more photos of Lucy at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/lucylu . Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. June 15, 2024, 2:05 pm
