Story
This gal and 3 otheres were surrendered due to her elderly owners not being able to care for her. Unfortunately they would forget to feed them and give them water. They have bounced back wonderfully! Snuggles is the shyest of the group. She is friendly but a bit hesitant at first. She warms up to people quickly and does enjoy getting some love! She is good around kids, not sure about kids. We're assuming she's had some housetraining but may need some work with it. She is okay on a leash after a little while. She likes to play and does well with new dogs, she just needs some time to adjust to them. She is a sweetheart, although shy. She would be good with any family who would have some patience for her. She is being fostered in TN but we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. They transport every weekend alternating between the Northeast and the Midwest.

Story
Keno is a lover, pure & simple. He never met a human he didn't like and he is especially fond of children. I adopted him as a stray in 2015 and have been able to give him a good home until recently. He is not adapting well to senior living, over-reacting to nearby sounds. My husband & I fear losing our placement here and our sensitivity to his fur & dander is increasing due to our small quarters. Keno has no health issues and has always had regular veterinarian care. I have all his records

Story
Meet BeeBee! BeeBee is a high energy Texas girl ready to explore and learn all about what Canada has to offer! BeeBee is looking for a home who can meet her mental and physical needs...so someone who is willing to go for LOTS of walks and hikes or has a yard for her to zoom around in, will provide lots of mental stimulation with training, appropriate things to chew on and work her brain! In return BeeBee will be your best friend, cuddle buddy, and confidant. *Please note that there will be an extra $100 additional fee on my adoption price. This fee will help facilitate further transports so we can help save more lives in the future! 4DX Test - Anaplasma +An IDEXX 4DX test was performed in shelter using whole blood, and a positive Anaplasma test result was noted. Rarely, false positive tests can occur. This test was performed as a part of routine wellness care, and this patient is not currently exhibiting any signs related to Anaplasmosis. This condition was transmitted by a tick bite from an infected tick, and there is no risk of transmission between dogs and other species (including humans). Anaplasmosis is a tick borne infection caused by the bacterium Anaplasma phagocytophilum that live within the white blood cells of their hosts. This patient has been given a prophylactic treatment course of Doxycycline (an antiobiotic). It is recommended that you follow up with your primary care veterinarian to establish a preventive healthcare plan post adoption, including tick prevention.

Jack Russell Terrier Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)

Oxford, MI
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Henrietta is so fun and sweet! She is estimated to be about 11 months old and weighs 24 pounds. Henrietta is a goofy, playful, and outgoing puppy who is ready to find her forever home. This little girl is full of energy and loves nothing more than a game of fetch or a nice walk in the park. She just loves toys too, so she is hoping her new family may have a basket of them for her. Henrietta is very affectionate and loves to be in your lap, she is the perfect companion for snuggling up on the couch and watching a movie. She is still very young, so she is just learning the ways of the world and will need lots of love, patience, and attention as she grows up. She would just blossom with some basic manners work and jumping up for attention. Henrietta’s adopter should also be familiar with the energy level and “all in” personality of a terrier mix. A home where any children are at least 8 years old is just what she needs. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Henrietta would love to meet them. She makes herself small and has a soft, friendly approach with other dogs. Then it is all wiggles, play and play-bows, so cute! If you are interested in Henrietta and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

She loves kids. She likes water and to swim. We have taken her camping with us numerous times. She is reactive but non aggressive and rarely barks. She loves everyone she meets. she loves to sleep in bed right next tp you and doesn't mind. blanket to cover up with. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. May 11, 2024, 8:20 pm
