The Sweet, The Silly, The Potato Dumplin.....DUBLIN!!!This Dublin dumpling at 7 yrs old due to his friend having to go into care is having to find a new forever home. This sweet playful happy boy definitely needs to loose some weight, but he doesn't let it slow him down, while he does have some minor hip issues due to his size, he is full of zest. He may be shaped like a potato but he is full of energy, he loves to play with his toys, cats, and other dogs his size. Outside is a whole wonderland of fun, from patrolling the fence line, chasing birds, and just enjoying the breeze ruffling through his hair. While the single step into and out of the house and the petsteps for sofa and bed dont deter him a flight of stairs may be a bit much for his CHONKY self until he is down several lbs. He has loved everyone he has met(kids, men,cats,small dogs) bigger dogs he has growled at and tried to intimate them with his ferociousness. He does great on car rides and short walks, longer walks may result in you doing some extra cardio by lugging his chunky butt back. If you have the patience to help him on his weight-loss journey, a desire to laff at his silly self, and a dumpling size spot in your heart, bed and couch needing to be filled with love, please consider welcoming this potato into your family. Chippy Dip is 9.5 years old and appears to be a Jack Russell Terrier (mix?). He was adopted from ODAS but surrendered by his owner 4.5 years later...(no fault of his own) with his companion, Dippy (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix--see his profile). Chippy Dip is a senior dog and has his FAVORITE toy he carries with him everywhere (which will go to his new home with him!). He is a senior dog and gets around a bit slowly (as we all do when we age) and doesn't see the best (but isn't blind), so he'll do best in an adult home only (he doesn't much care for children anyway--LOL). Chippy Dip is afraid of loud noises (vacuum, thunder, the other dogs barking at this shelter!). He doesn't much care for cats and would prefer to be the only dog. Chippy Dip and Dippy seem to get along fine together here, but Chippy Dip doesn't care much for "new" dogs. We won't require they stay together--but they'd prefer to stay together as they've lived together for the past four years. Chippy Dip is toy and food motivated, can be quiet/shy, but loves playing with his toy and napping. He would prefer to have a home where his person/people were home most of the time. His tail wags constantly, but he's scared and doesn't understand why he's here...
