Story
This dog is part of our shelter outreach program where we take dogs from overcrowded shelters in hopes of finding them a forever home here! We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken.  They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Davey is a 1-year-old, 17-pound mixed breed with a unique look that has everyone guessing. We see a little Chihuahua, possibly some Jack Russell Terrier or Boston Terrier, but whatever his breed mix may be, Davey is a handsome young dog with a lot of potential. Davey can be shy and nervous when meeting new people and needs time to build trust. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through. He enjoys being with his people and forms strong bonds with those who are patient and understanding. As a young dog, Davey has above-average energy levels and will thrive with an active family committed to providing regular exercise, training, and structure. He is still learning about the world and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training to help build his confidence. Davey gets along well with other dogs and may be able to live with cats that are accustomed to dogs, as he has shown little interest in them. Due to his shy nature, he is seeking a home with children ages 14 and older who can respect his need for time to adjust. A home with a securely fenced yard is preferred, giving Davey a safe space to run, play, and burn off energy. With patience, consistency, and love, Davey will make a wonderful companion for someone willing to help him continue growing into the confident dog we know he can be.*Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.June 15, 2026, 4:51 pm

Story
Braison is a goofy energetic dog. Terrier/Hound mix. He is very affectionate, loves to be with me, follows me everywhere almost from day one. I'm 75 and just can’t give him the attention that he needs to flourish. He’s very happy to meet other people and animals, He needs to be with a family with Kids, and or other pets. He was raised with cats, is fully vaccinated, Neutered, in good health. I will provide Vet records, Toys, Bed, Food, Collar, Winter Jacket, Harness, and treats. He walks great on a leash, obeys some commands, Sit, Stay, Down, Paw, Fetch etc. He’s learning to press voice buttons for Treats, Food, Water, Outside, etc... NO Rehoming fee, but thoroughly vetting all applicants. His new home must be a house with a fenced yard, a family with kids or other pets. I have rejected several applicants, only because they didn’t fit my requirements for him. I won’t bring him to a shelter. I'll take him back if you're not happy with him. If you meet my requirements, please apply.

He has a fun-loving personality and enjoys being part of whatever is going on around him. Some of Bolt’s favorite things are mealtime, treats, wrestling with his siblings, exploring new spaces, and curling up for a nap after a full belly and a busy day of play. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate puppy with lots of personality and a love for snacks, Bolt might be your perfect match. He is being fostered in Bayville, NJ and his adoption fee is $575. "To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."
