Story
Braison is a goofy energetic dog. Terrier/Hound mix. He is very affectionate, loves to be with me, follows me everywhere almost from day one. I'm 74 and just can’t give him the attention that he needs to flourish. He’s very happy to meet other people and animals, He needs to be with a family with Kids, and or other pets. He was raised with cats, is fully vaccinated, Neutered, in good health. I will provide Vet records, Toys, Bed, Food, Collar, Winter Jacket, Harness, and treats. He walks great on a leash, obeys some commands, Sit, Stay, Down, Paw, Fetch etc. He’s learning to press voice buttons for Treats, Food, Water, Outside, etc... NO Rehoming fee, but thoroughly vetting all applicants. His new home must be a house with a fenced yard, a family with kids or other pets. I have rejected several applicants, only because they didn’t fit my requirements for him. I won’t bring him to a shelter. I'll take him back if you're not happy with him. If you meet my requirements, please apply.

Story
My name is Frosty. I am as white as snow! I am a 5 to 6 month old petite pup. By looks of me and my perky ear, I am a terrier mix. Based on my personality, I could be part Jack Russell. I am 20 lbs so we don't expect me to get much bigger than 30 or 35 lbs. I am a fun, active and bouncy pup. I am social and friendly with all of my dog friends. I just go about my day hoping they will want to play with me! I seek attention from my human and really am longing for my own humans. I love when they play with me and want to cuddle. I also love going places with them. I am a great car rider. I have not met young kids nor cats. I will need some basics in my new home - continued work on housebreaking, learning some house rules, leash training. I am a smart cookie and super food motivated; training me will be fun! Story
Meet Karlena! Known affectionately as "Sass/Sassy" in her foster parent's house.  Karlena is still recovering from a traumatic past life, but as each day passes, so grows her confidence. This little girl is the definition of brave and strong, but she is still learning more each day that she can trust humans after the ones in her past have let her down time and time again.  Karlena is still getting accustomed to living in a home and learning a normal routine, so most of her trips outside to go to the bathroom aren't successful yet - but she's been a quick learner with pee pads. A yard or private ourdoor space would be amazing for her to get adjusted to learning potty training off of the busy, bustling NYC streets. This little girl is also very food motivated and LOVES slices of cheese and any human food. She is incredibly shy, and still keeps to herself most of the day when her foster parents are home, but she does like to explore and sniff around at night and when she's home alone. She's also been doing amazing recently spending time with another dog in the house and being able to grow her confidence by observing him, so being adopted into a home with another pet would be ideal for her as she continues to come out of her shell.  Karlena will thrive with adoptive parents who are understanding, patient, and willing to meet her where she is and not rush her, and continue to foster a safe, calm and quiet environment for her to decompress, heal, and learn to trust. In time, when she's ready, we have no doubts in the world this sweet, sweet girl will come out of her shell and be the most perfect pup to a very lucky family!  ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2517627##

Story
Steve -  1 year, 37lbs, BeagleTerrier Mix, Neutered - low rider :)  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Their Foster Parent Says: "Steve loves people and dogs and chasing after squirrels and birds. Every time we pass a person or a dog, he is always wagging his tail and pulling his leash to greet them. As soon as someone gives him affection, he literally slides down and rolls over on his back for belly rubs. He is such a trusting and sweet dog. In the morning, he waits patiently for me in the bathroom while I get ready and will sit or lay down on my bath mat (since I have towels everywhere on the floor to protect my white carpets, he thinks any towel is for him) then we go for a 45 minute walk, come home and he eats his breakfast, depending on how tired he is from his walk, he will typically play on his own for an hour before taking a 4 hour nap. We then go for a potty break, play a little more and then another 45 minute walk in the evening followed by dinner, more play time and a final night potty. He is definitely teething right now and is a little mouthy which is understandable for a pup his age. He loves playing fetch, gnawing on his toys and is very food motivated. As a typical lab, he scarfs down his food in 5 minutes even with a slow feeder. He needs leash training as he pulls very hard during our walks when he sees a bird, squirrel or dog which is often as you can imagine in NYC. He is a little afraid of bikes, buses and leaf blowers and will pull the leash to move away from them and gets down low. However he is pretty tolerable of the city life and will adjust quickly. He’s very comfortable in elevators, with stairs and riding the subway which is impressive coming from South Carolina. The best part about this pup, is he practically came potty trained and crate trained and has had no accidents thus far! The best pup of the 7 I’ve fostered thus far." Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.  Energy level MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  City pupSeems unfazed by the sights and sounds, may as well have been born here.POTTY TRAININGYes – Few or no accidentsCOMFORT LEVEL WITH STRANGERSSocial butterfly – Wants to be friends with everyone who walks by, loves anyone who will stop to say hello. BEHAVIOR WITH CHILDREN (always requires adult supervision)Maybe for age 12 and up – Is either big and energetic (okay with kids big enough not to get knocked down) or a little skittish (could be comfortable with older children that can be extra gentle) SOCIAL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER DOGSYes – Good with most other dogs (sizes, breeds, etc.) as far as we know and enjoys socializing with other caninesRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER ANIMALS (cats, small pets, etc.Not sure – Wants to chase squirrels and birds so may not be a good match for a home with cats, rabbits, etc. MOUTHY BEHAVIORNeeds training – Is either still in the puppy stage or was never trained. Tries to put their mouth on your hands when playing or needs attention, grabs leash, chews on your personal belongings SEPARATION ANXIETY (Adjusting – Might cry for a few minutes when you first leave the house but settles pretty quickly and has no problem being left alone otherwise. LEASH MANNERSWTF is a leash – Pulls hard. Zig zags like crazy. Has no idea how to walk on a leash or doesn’t have outside privileges yet (too young)CUDDLE BUG LEVELMedium – Likes to snuggle when he's in the mood but often stays in his own bed JUMPING ON PEOPLE TO SAY HELLONeeds training – Very excited to greet everyone and has no idea how to do so politely. Jumps up on most strangers or other dogs that go by. In puppy phase or wasn’t trained as a young adult. CRATE TRAININGYep/mostly – Seems comfortable in the crate, may whine a little at first but settles pretty quickly. We use the crate when we leave the pup alone and/or at night.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from the South or Puerto Rico ; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
If you’ve been searching for a gentle love-bug who is just the right age and just the right size, then feast your eyes on Zard, a 6-year old, 22-pound Jack Russell Terrier mix. Recently rescued from a hoarding situation, Zard is a sweet, curious, cuddly boy who is ready to welcome love and start living the good life. Housebroken and well-mannered on a leash, Zard enjoys the outdoors, especially in quieter-type environments, where he can explore and sniff the world at his own pace. His nose seems to work overtime, and whenever he spots another dog, he picks up his pace to greet them with a gleeful wagging tail! Zard gets along well with everyone, but a slow approach works best with this sensitive fella, preferring that folks get down to his level when first greeting him. Zard can’t be won over with treats, but toys are his language of love, and he’s into them ALl! He likes to thrash them around, toss them up in the air, pounce on them, sleep with them, and walk around with them in his mouth. Affectionate to the max, Zard loves being pet, he’ll never refuse a belly rub, and his favorite resting spot is wherever you are. Despite having multiple dog beds, Zare will happily hop into your bed and borough under the blankets with you…if you let him. And how can you say no to THAT cute face? Zare is still discovering what it’s like to be a real dog, and he’s loving every second of it. With each passing day, his personality continues to blossom and shine, and it’s beautiful thing to watch. Zare is easy to fall in love with and would make a great companion…and hey, how ‘bout those mismatched ears of his? C’mon, this dude is simply irresistible!!! Story
Meet Snowball, a 5-month old, 16-pound Jack Russell Terrier mix who is a professional zoomie specialist, toy enthusiast, and your future best friend! Snowball is an adorable, white, furry bundle of joy with springs for legs and love in her heart. This dainty darling may be a bit shy when meeting new people, but give her a few minutes - - and maybe a treat - - and you’ll see her true essence shine right through. Once she decides you safe, you’re officially her person. Snowball loves the great outdoors - - running, jumping, exploring, and showing off her impressive athletic skills. Fetch? Yes, please. Tug-of-war? Absolutely. She romps around the yard like she’s training for the Olympics, and she knows how to have a really good time. Inside the house, Snowball is cuddly, affectionate, and always ready for pets…but she also has a mischievous streak that keeps life interesting and full of laughs. She’s curious, playful, and occasionally up to something…but the good news is, this clever kiddo is eager to please and is clearly highly intelligent. Smart cookie alert! Snowball is crate trained, doing well with car rides, and is currently polishing up her housebreaking and leash skills. She already understands commands like come, outside, inside, and lay down, and she’s primed to learn more. Despite her energy, Snowball isn’t much of a barker, she gets along well with other dogs and humans, and is as snuggly as they come. This ‘lil gal is truly coming into her own and has tons of potential for someone ready to give her love, guidance, playtime, and help build her confidence. In return, you’ll get a loyal, fun-loving, entertaining young pup, with personality-plus!
