Story
Red, the color of love, is perfect for this guy, because he is pure sweetness and affection! Meet Red, the Jack Russell Terrier mix who has overcome so much in his two years. Red was rescued from Swainsboro, Georgia and has been blossoming during his stay here at Home for Good Dog Rescue. He is 26 pounds of pure love, and he keeps telling us how much he can’t wait to find his forever family!
Red is a very curious and excitable little boy who very much loves people. He is very friendly and submissive to humans, simply wanting their attention and affection whenever they are willing to give it to him. Red’s favorite things besides his human friends are toys—lots and lots of toys! This boy would absolutely love a trip to the toy store, or if you are an online shopper, just give him your credit card and let him have some fun on Chewy.com.
Red is a melter. Literally, this little guy will melt into you and accept all the snuggles you have to offer. He would do great with kids and does well around cats, too. As happy as he is, he still dreams of a family to love him one day. So what are you waiting for? Red is giving you the greenlight to come adopt him!
Red is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.
Given the conditions Red originated from, upon rescue, he tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Red has completed his Heartworm treatment.
*Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.*

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
