Jack Russell Terrier puppies and dogs in Hightstown, New Jersey

Our B litter is ready for adoption! This sweet litter of pups are about 9-10 weeks, born around mid-November 2024. These puppies are some of the lucky ones – a good Samaritan saw a mangy, starving dog eating scrap someone threw out in a back corner of a Mexican restaurant by a dumpster. She couldn’t turn away. The good Samaritan was going to just help mom, when she realized mom looks to have just had puppies. It’s like the momma dog knew someone was there to help, and she turned away from the scrap food and started walking down the street. The good Samaritan followed this momma dog for almost 2 miles to a home, where when they walked up, 7 puppies came running out from under the house (see video!) The homeowner didn’t claim mom or puppies, nor did she want anything to do with them. She refused to feed them or offer them shelter. It took some time, but after a few days, we were able to get all 7 pups and mom to safety. Mom is about 32 lbs and has a wire-hair coat, we have named her Lainey and she will also be available for adoption soon. We do not know who dad is. We believe pups will vary in size with the 2 runts (Baby ad Belle) staying smaller than the others – but generally we believe they will stay around 40 lbs. Please keep in mind that these puppies had minimal human interaction until a few weeks ago, but they are now in their prime age for impression, training and growing in a home to learn from. They all would do wonderfully with well-behaved children, other dogs and cats. They did not chase stray cats at the home they were at and they LOVE other dogs. Here’s a breakdown of the litter and some information on each one: All weights are as of 1/19/25 Baby – Male Runt – 7.5 lbs – Black and white (tri color) – Semi wirehair and very short hair – does not seem to shed much, if at all – Very playful. Very outgoing. Fun to watch play as he is so much tinier than the other pups. Daring. First pup to try anything. Aims to please. Wants to be next to you and get lots of love and love you. All homes would be ideal, all ages of children would be great for Baby. Belle – Female Runt – 4.4 lbs – Black and White – Wirehair – Does not seem to shed – She is quite timid but friendly and does come around. Will make the best baby. She defends herself against all the other bigger pups. Fierce and won’t let anyone pick on her. Is learning to play with toys. Could be a lap dog with lots of patience. Minimal-mild active home that is patient. Beau – Male – 10.2 lbs – Brown and White – Wirehair – Does not seem to shed – Needs someone with some patience. He is a bit timid and would rather watch everyone else play before joining. He would do best with another dog in the home. Beau is learning to trust people and his surroundings. Minimal-Mild Active home that is patient. Bree – Female – 11.4 lbs – Black and White – Short hair, minimal shedding – She is a hoot to have around. She loves to talk to you and is very vocal. She doesn’t mind telling you how she feels. She’s more of a leader and she keeps all the other puppies in check and in their place. If any of them start bickering, Bree will be there to break it up. She’s not afraid to test the waters and try anything new. A bit shorter of legs and stocky build. A more active home is preferred. Blue – Male – 12.4 lbs – Black and White – Short hair, minimal shedding – This gentle giant boy is so sweet. He is the biggest of the litter. He is very curious but won’t try anything first. He will stand back and watch. He is learning to trust humans and his surroundings. Very smart. Blue would be great with another dog to teach him or someone willing to put in the time and patience for training and socialization. Would love someone to force cuddles on him so he can learn to fully love people. Not a mean bone in his body. Mildly active home ideal, with patience. Biscuit – Male – 11.1 lbs – Brown and White – Wire Hair – Does not seem to shed – This lover boy is the most timid of the group of pups. The foster left him with his mom so she can help build his confidence and not be bullied by his siblings. He is very submissive. Needs a family or person that is patient, kind and understands he does need socialization and lots of love. Ideally no young children given how timid he is. Bear – Male – 11.3 lbs – Black and White – Short hair, minimal shedding – One of the most outgoing pups of the litter! He is one of the few that came around super quickly and is super lovable, huggable and amazing all around. He LOVES to be held in your arms and rocked like a baby or just carried around. He would rather be with you than anywhere else. His next favorite thing is belly rubs. He will roll over in a heartbeat to get some belly rubs and stay there until you can’t anymore. He is a very relaxed pup and doesn’t run around too much. Chill. Mildly active home and all age children would be perfect. All of these puppies will make wonderful and loyal companions. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near Albany, New York. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Gracie is a female mixed breed, most likely with Wirehaired Jack Russell Terrier and another Terrier of some sort. She's around 10 months old and 40 pounds. Pancake was picked up off the streets, already neutered and microchipped (but alas, the chip was not registered). He is a sassy little guy, he enjoys long walks and belly rubs. He also enjoys his dinner to the point of resource guarding - as in if you get near his bowl, he will bite you. We are hand feeding him as a way to diminish this behavior, but his future family needs to be aware that he is not perfect. He loves running loose on the farm, ignores the other dogs and cats, and will happily trot along wherever his foster travels. He is a perfect auxiliary dog! All our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have been dewormed and are current on vaccinations. Hi!  My name is Bailee and I am looking for a forever home.  I am an owner surrender to a small rescue after my owner, who is in the military, went through a divorce and had to move back into the barracks where I was not welcome.  My previous owner actually tried to find me a home herself but the first one I got attacked by the other dog living in the home and the second one ghosted her, so she then contacted a rescue.  A volunteer with that rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could help and they said yes!  My foster mom offered to keep me for a few months for my mom if there was a chance she might be able to get in a position where she could take me back but mom said no, her situation had changed and she wanted me to find a new home.  I might be a little bit of a mix but as far as personality and attitude, I'm all Jack Russell Terrier.  While in some eyes I might be seen as a senior at around 7-8years old, don't let me age fool you as I love adventures and have the energy to keep up with you wherever you want to go.  I have gotten along with the other small/medium dogs I have met but do like to bark at the big dogs through the fence.  I have shown some interest in the cats and while I haven't been aggressive with them, it might be best if my new home doesn't have them.  I love my food and treats which I take gently.  I have done ok in my crate with the occasional accident but am getting better on that, especially when I get to go out on a regular basis.  As I said, I love adventures and I'm good on leash.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out a application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org. Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Hi!  My name is Apollo and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked up by Animal Control and taken to a scary place called a shelter where, after my stray hold was up, I was going to be put on something bad called "the list".  Fortunately for me, a BCAA volunteer saw me while I was on my stray hold and promised me she would be back if no one came for me and she kept her promise ... yeah!  I appear to be a Jack Russell terrier (JRT) mix but am definitely a lot more chill than most JRTs as my favorite thing is to chill with you and get attention.  I'm on the smaller size at just under 13lbs and at around 4yo, I am not expected to get any bigger.  I have gotten along with all of the other small/medium dogs I have met and haven't bothered those things called cats.  I have done well in my crate once I learned the schedule without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding although I would much prefer to be out with you.  I'm pretty good on leash as it means I can be with you; I love my food and treats; and I ride tethered in a car pretty good.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application!
