Story
Ooo ooh! Pick me! Pick me! My name is Maddy and I was dumped at at high kill shelter. I was super sick (antibiotics cleared me right up!) and I was all skin and bones. Angels at AWFA rescued me in the nick of time and I am ready to find my forever family! I am such a good girl - A loving, beautiful, sweet blonde bombshell who loves everyone I meet.  I'm good with some other dogs but would love to be an only dog to get all of the attention.  I like kids but would probably do best in an adult home.  I am house trained! I'm a quiet girl but will alert you if needed. I am looking for my furever family to snuggle and cuddle and love. Is that you?! ***************************************************************    Interested in adopting this pet? Story
Meet Rocky! He’s a sweet 8.5 year old Korean Jindo mix who loves attention. He loves to cuddle and be with his people. He’s smart and food motivated to learn new things. His current foster puts him a sit/stay while he places his food down and then releases him to eat, which he does very well. He’s also potty trained. When you talk to him he'll give you this funny look like he’s trying to understand. He is ok around other dogs, until he gets impatient with them. This is very common for Jindos. He would do best in a house without other animals. His healthy recently took a turn and he can only use his back legs 5% of the time. He has seen a primary Vet, a Chiro, an internist and an Neuro and they’re not sure of the cause. He is still very cognitive and fully aware of everything around him, his back legs just do not want to cooperate. He has a wheel chair which he is learning to use. He’s hoping his forever home is out there to help him navigate his remaining years. He can’t wait to find his forever home.   Meet Rocky! Story
We adopted our Olaf 3 years ago from a high kill shelter while living in Korea at 6 weeks old and he has been with us ever since. We brought him back to California with us in June this year. Despite our best efforts to socialize him and expose him to as much as possible, at around 6 months old he started to show some pretty serious anxiety which seems to have worsened over time. He is extremely fearful of our 1.5 year old daughter and has developed reactivity to her which we have not been able to correct with training or medication. He has broken her skin on one occasion. Olaf would be better suited to a home with teenagers ( he seems to love them) or no children at all, and no other pets. He is very well trained, and knows all the basic commands. He rarely barks, walks well on a leash, and mostly ignores passing dogs unless he is approached by them. He plays well with some dogs, but is very selective and resource guards his toys (from dogs, NOT people).

Story
03/13/24 16:02 Dog was very nervous during impound, did not want to walk on a leash. Go slow.03/27/24 15:25 Dog is still scared in this environment. If you put your hand out for him to sniff, he will snarl and growl at you. Use caution.04/04/24 15:34 Dog doesn`t growl as easily as he did at first, but he still isn`t looking for affection. He is still a little stiff and silent when you approach. He is very quiet and reserved. 04/10/24 16:08 Brought her out to the conference rm, she is shy and timid. She is food motivated. She is very quiet and keeps to her self. She allowed all touch, she comes when called and was easy to walk on the leash 04/23/24 14:30 Took out for a walk. Did very well. Nice and sweet. Easy to leash and walks well. Minimal pulling. Accepted pets and scratches. Leaned against me when we were stopped. Nice girl.05/01/24 08:52 Took her out for new pictures. Easy to leash and walk. She was insistent on attention in the play yard. Wasn`t interested in toys but wanted lots of pets and scratches while she leaned against you. When walking by the other dogs, there were some she seemed to like and others raised her hackles but she did not react aggressive with any. Good, calm, well mannered lady.
