Story
Elsa is the sweetest dog ever! She loves to play with her toys and other friendly dogs, and she was raised with children, although she is still a bit puppy rambunctious when excited and will often jump in your lap to snuggle! She sleeps quietly in her crate for 8 hours, and often longer. We need to rehome her only because we didn't ask the right questions when we adopted her from a busy family about 4 months ago. We travel and are on the go a lot, and we anticipated bringing her with us wherever we went. However, Elsa does not prefer riding in the car and traveling, so we have been boarding her with Rover sitters and she is struggling with a lack of routine when we leave her. We are so sad to have to let her go, but we know that she would thrive and be happy in a home where there is hopefully another dog to play with in the yard and where her people are home most of the time. Adoption fee is to ensure she goes to a good home and includes her crate and all necessities.

Story
Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 100lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. If you are interested in meeting Maui, please complete the adoption application. We go through a multi-step process for our dogs that includes meeting at the fosters home, a home inspection, and reference checks.

Story
Looking to find the forever home for Puppy love, who we've been fostering for the last 3 months. Puppy Love is is an absolute joy! He's great with children and very gentle and playful with them. We got him from a friend who adopted him as a very little pup but couldn’t keep him due to life circumstances. He’s a big boy, about 60 pounds already and we expect he could get up to 80 or so. We suspect he is part husky, part lab, with some other breeds mixed in, but we’re not totally sure. 100% good boy! He's housetrained and trained on-leash and off. We have another dog, and also regularly socialize him with the neighborhood dogs. I don't think he's met a dog he doesn't like yet and he loves most humans he meets, though it can take him a couple times meeting people to warm up and go up to them. We need to find a home for him ASAP, as we have another baby coming, and we only planned to keep him for a month. STRONG PREFERENCE for him to go to a family with ample outdoor space.

Story
**This is a courtesy post. Bitsy is NOT a YCSPCA dog. All adoption interest will be forwarded to her caretaker.** Bitsy is a goofy boy who can't wait to make you smile! Bitsy is estimated to be around 4 years old and is a loving guy looking for his forever home. Bitsy is a total wiggle-butt that greats everyone he meets with a big smile and is a social butterfly who wants to be everyone's friend. Bitsy has a zest for life and loves a good adventure. Bitsy currently weighs about 75lbs, but would benefit from losing at least 10lbs. Who needs a weight loss buddy? Bitsy and his sister, Bella, were surrendered to a local dog boarding facility after their previous owner was no longer able to care for them and moved across the country. The staff at the facility love the two dogs, but know that they deserve more attention than they can get at the facility. It would be amazing if the dogs could be adopted together, but they aren't bonded and would do okay being separated. The most important part is that they can find people to love and care for them. Bitsy is the more active of the two kiddos. He would be a great adventure buddy for someone who needs a loyal sidekick. He loves to explore and have fun. Bitsy also loves cuddles and will lean up against you and try to convince you that he is, in fact, a lap dog despite his size.  Bitsy knows his basic manners, but does need some reminders now and then. He is very food-motivated, which makes training a breeze.  Bitsy hasn't been introduced to dogs in a while, per company policy, but he likely would do well living with other easy-going dogs after a slow introduction. Bitsy hasn't lived with cats before, but he seems to be a fan of chasing small critters and may not be a good fit to live with kitties. Bitsy would be a wonderful addition to a home with kids 12 years and older.  Bitsy is housetrained, but may have some accidents while adjusting to a new environment and routine. It's been about a year since he has been in a home setting, so his new family will need to be patient with him while he acclimates to being in a home again. Bitsy is neutered and up-to-date with his vaccines. Bistsy is such a wonderful dude who deserves a family for the holidays. If you think that might just be you, email us at dogs@yolospca.org. **This is a courtesy post. Bitsy is NOT a YCSPCA dog. All adoption interest will be forwarded to her caretaker.** November 18, 2025, 2:50 pm
