Story
Hello, meet Benito aka Bubba:) Benito is a 4 year old, more or less Labradoodle and Wirehaired Pointer. He was found with his hair so tangled that we had to give him a very short hair cut. Accidently the groomer at that event who did his hair cut; his ears accidently because the ears were so damaged by the hair. So he is missing a small piece on both ears. He is very calm; not a barker, if you put him in crate is like he doesn't exist. He is such a good boy, very easy going - gets along with all dogs - not sure about cats as we have not fostered him around cats. He loves to go for walks and loves car rides:) He is very submissive - not aggressive that all. He is being fostered with other 20 dogs, of all sizes and ages:) He will give you a hand shake - well a paw shake:) He will make a wonderful addition to any family or a solo person who loves a calm dog. Benito is a survivor of Distemper - this means he will never get the disease again and he can life up to 15 years old of life as some of our survivors have done:) Are you ready to give him a forever home? Story
Adoption Event: Please let us know if you want this beauty to be at our semi-monthly adoption event by texting us at 619-576-0747 Our sweet Dalila is a female 50 pounds rescued girl, who loves to run and play fetch!! . Dalila is an ideal medium size, has a nice coat, low shedding and semi-hypoallergenic as she is a mixed of Labradoodle and German Shorthaired Pointer and Border Terrier. Hard to find a medium to large size low shedding-hypoallernic rescued pets due that the majority are small breeds:) She will be ideal for any family. However, an active family will be ideal for her sweet and playful temperament. She is good with people and children, and currently being fostered with another 18 dogs:) She will need basic training such as basic commands and to be leashed trained as she has been at the sanctuary running free but goes to a crate in the evenings to sleep - therefore, she is crate trained as well :) Not sure about how she is with cats but she is a pup still and trainable. Are you ready to give her a forever home? Story
Birdie is a sweet, friendly 4-year-old Labradoodle with a moderate energy level. She loves walks, playing fetch, and will happily follow you around the house asking for pets. She’s great with people and other dogs, very food-motivated, and eager to please. Birdie is both house-trained and crate-trained, and would make a loving, loyal companion. Birdie and Papi are very bonded sisters and love being together. They play, relax, and keep each other company. If possible, we would love for them to be adopted together so they can stay by each other’s side. They’d be a wonderful addition to a home looking for two sweet, well-behaved dogs.

Story
I need to move to an apartment which is still unknown at this time. Jackson’s dad, my husband, left unexpectedly and did not take Jackson. Jackson belonged to him. Jackson is loving and playful. He’s very obedient. He has been an outdoor dog but rarely alone as he was always in his dad’s shop all day and part of the evening. I have tried finding his medical records but unable to find them. I think my husband may have taken them.

These pups are in Escondido, California too!

Story
How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by his previous owner on January 6, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:This handsome guy is Winton! A bit nervous when he first came to us, Winton's made amazing progress here at the shelter, gaining confidence to the point where he now greets us with a wiggly body each day, eager to head out on walkies. He's mellow while riding in the car, polite on the leash and friendly towards the new people he encounters while out and about. This sweet pup would thrive best in a home where he's the only dog and any children are at least 10 years old. If you've been looking for a Very Good Boy for walks around the block, Netflix on the couch and maybe the occasional pup cup, Winton wants to meet you! At SDHS:Winton has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Winton is now ready for his new home! Primary Color: Tan Weight: 81.2 Age: 4yrs 9mths 3wks

Story
How Onyx arrived: Onyx was brought in by their previous owner on 11/11/2025. Why Onyx is the one for you:Onyx is a sweet, loving dog who is looking for a special family to call her own. She thrives in a home where she's the one and only pet, as she's not comfortable around cats or other dogs. While she's lived with children in the past, Onyx does best in a calm, structured environment, and we recommend a home with kids over 8 years old due to her sensitivity and anxiety. She'll need a family who understands her unique needs, including supervision when outside-Onyx is quite the jumper and can clear a fence if given the chance! With some training and continued anxiety support, Onyx has the potential to blossom into a confident, happy companion. She's ready to build a deep, trusting bond with the right family who can offer her patience, love, and understanding. At SDHS:Onyx has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed . Onyx is now ready for their new home! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 67.6 Age: 4yrs 3mths 2wks
